Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Henna in Japanese refers to the meaning of strange or different. Therefore it is evident that the designers and architects of this unique place have definitely achieved their intended result. It is quite evident that the Henna Hotel is not a normal hotel in any sense of the word, each step and turn will surprise you with the maximum effect. It actually is quite surprising that there aren`t more of these types of hotels in Japan and around the world! In fact, the company who implemented the 1st fully robotic hotel here in Huis Ten Bosch, Nagasaki have 2 fully functioning hotels in Tokyo and many more are planned throughout Japan and probably the world. Here is what you will expect upon your arrival: At the front desk, you will be greeted by multi-lingual robots that will help you check in or check out. At the cloakroom, the robotic arm will store your luggage for you. Mechanic yet somehow human, those fun moments with the robots will warm your heart. Furthermore, once you register your face with our face recognition system, you will be free from the hassle of carrying the room key around or worrying about losing it. Not only has this robotic technology freed up training and hiring staff but the technologies that have been implemented such as automatic lighting, face recognition, energy usage and wastage prevention not to mention the use of all natural and latest superior building materials to fit in with the concept of the Dutch Theme Park, Huis Ten Bosch which means House in the Woods. Both times I have been to the Henna Hotel I have either been too early or too late to get the check in and check out process on video. I am sure my next visit will get this necessary and interesting part on video.

We love the robot theme and the fun ways the hotel employs them. Kids seem to love the miniature walking robots in the orchestra and the check-in dinosaur. The rooms were more spacious than expected and the included breakfast was much better than expected for a hotel meal. Overall solid entertaining options for lodging in Sasebo!

We booked a room that could fit 2 adults and 2 children. There were only 2 pillows in the room. When I asked for an extra pillow (not an extra bed), I was told that I had to pay extra. I expected better service for the price that I paid! The kids had fun using the face recognition door lock though.

I was expecting this is sort of a high tech hotel because it uses robot to serve you. However, I was so frustrated when we did the check in. We scanned our passport so many times and still didn’t work. It took us so long before we can successfully check in. They provided handy phone in the room. However, we tried to call front desk and it didn’t work. So we have to walk all the way to the front desk and they still couldn’t solve the problem. I think it’s over priced given their robot didn’t work well. I think Siri is much smarter. May be Japanese might work. I don’t know!

Stayed here for a night to visit the theme park. Check in was interesting with the robots, however practically had to repeat the check in process multiple times as errors were encountered in the computer. Finally managed to get the room checked in after about 15minutes. Stayed in a Twin Room, spacious and comfortable. The hotel is a 10minute walk from the theme park entrance.

Just curious and experience to stay at hotel that part of the staff were robot so we opt to stay just for a night. Try their restaurant "AURA". for 2,800 yen, you can eat buffet for a dinner. Children will enjoy the theme park nearby and lots of restaurants and coffee shop at the entrance of the theme park. Be aware that, guest at this hotel can enter the premises (resto and malls) before the park opening through the back entrance by presenting your hotel receipt otherwise you gonna pay. "Churi" the robot in our room is quite amusing. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel, but the only not so pleasant experience is that the disadvantage of not having "human" front desk. Nobody advise us, that trains from Huis Ten Bosch to Hakata was delayed or cancelled (only 2 direct trips in the morning) because of the typhon. Other than that, it is quite an experienced.

Check-in was self help until the computer had issues. Someone appeared from an office to assist me. The robots at the reception desk are for show. They have a scripted welcome once you’ve completed check-in. The restaurant serves breakfast only. Food options are available from a vending machine. I can’t vouch for the taste. The bartender was virtual. The menu was in Japanese so I was unable to order. Churi was the hotel’s version of Siri or Alexa in your room. It was not very cooperative. The radiant cooling was a joke. Fortunately, there was also an ac unit in the room. The bed was firmer than I’m accustomed to. The best thing about the hotel is its proximity to Huis Ten Bosch.

If free parking is provided, this hotel is the perfect place for us. It is the great experience staying in the robot hotel. Very enjoy check-in with robot. We stayed in triple room, so the room is spacious with separate toilet and bathroom area. Along the corridor the light is automatically turn on while we passing due to motion sensor. A bit disappointed with Yuri (robot in the guestroom), always keep talking. Breakfast is very nice. 5minutes walk to the Park.
