Our first night in Japan and straight on a traditional bed and next morning a typical Japanese breakfast. To us a great way to take off. Everything around is made from wood so it is kiind of noisy, Although we had a tv in the room we would not have missed it. Also the bath is traditional so bathing all... More

It's a lovely old ryokan, the floors creek when you walk, which I am fine with it. The room my mom and I stayed in was really spacious for two by Japan standard. I think it was because the sleeping area was quite far away from the AC heater, we felt cold when we were sleeping, it was really cold... More

We stayed here for the night before leaving Kyushu, and I must say it was quite a let down considering the price vs quality/condition of the inn. It's really old & dated, the worn-out type. With loads of guests & the less than effective sound-proofing, it's hard to imagine one getting a peaceful rest. Front desk also could not help... More

Comfy enough but the rooms have probably seen better days. Stains on the walls and on the panel screens and a bit dusty in the room. Only tried the private shower room not the public bath but it was clean. Staff speak English alright and wifi works fine (although only in the lobby, didn't work in my room because the... More

This was my first stay in a traditional Japanese ryokan. Check in is 3pm (no earlier) so if you come before that time you can leave your bags in the hallway and come back. Reception was pleasant and we received room #31 on the second floor. It's a triple room but there were only two of us so we had... More

Five years later we came back for a second stay - and we had a second great stay. We stayed four days, three nights in the family room - which includes four futons and traditional pillows. The room is spacious - plenty of space, with sitting areas and sleeping areas. Great old atmosphere, creaky floors, clean facilities, friendly staff. Location... More

I feel transported back in time. This place has a lot of character, even the small rooms are nice and the tatamis are cozy! Its an old Ryokan but I love this place and I would recommend it if you want a good taste of Japanese culture. They have Onsens as well. So check it out. Its about a 10... More
