Cannot rave enough about Kayoko San. She was so unbelievably welcoming and couldn't do more to make us feel at home. She knew we were on honeymoon and went out of her way to make it extra special for us. The guesthouse is immaculate and might as well be described as a ryokan. Beautiful, tranquil, easy walking distance to lovely...

We spent two nights at this lovely accommodation. The host Kayoika was extremely helpful & kind to us. We would thoroughly recommend this Ryokan experience! The room for the family was perfect, and the breakfast delicious. The host is extremely knowledgeable and a very good English speaker.

We stayed for 2 nights in June. The guesthouse is very small. Only one other couple staying there when we were there. We shared 2 showers and 2 toilets with them. The breakfast was lovely - "japanese breakfast" which was fish, rice, vegetables and miso - all very tasty. The house is beautifully appointed with very simple japanese design through...

Spent two very comfortable nights in Nara at Guesthouse Sakuraya. The guesthouse itself is beautifully decorated in a traditional Japanese style with a great little garden courtyard. This alone set Sakuraya apart from our other hostels/hotels on our trip to Japan, but the owner Kayoko takes it to another level entirely. She's hugely kind, funny and helpful and cooks an...

We stayed in many wonderful accommodations in during our month-long trip in Japan, but Guesthouse Sakuraya was our favorite. The house itself is charming, and in a great location for exploring Nara on foot. But the real appeal of Guesthouse Sakuraya is the charming owner and hostess. Her kindness and generosity, not to mention her excellent knowledge of the area...

In the 2 travel in Japan, the best night I've made was in Nara, in Kayoko's house! My family and me were OK to say that Kayoko is a very very good host, smiley, funny, kindly, she gave to us many advice for restaurants, famous place to visit. Her home is so beautiful (special mention for beautiful garden that allows...

We have stayed a couple of nights at Sakuyara. From the moment we came in,the hospitality of Kayoko (owner) was amazing. Explained all we needed to know about Nara's key spots and off we went exploring. The house is an extremely well kept traditional Ryokan with amazing comfort. We have chosen the room on the upper floor with private toilet....
