The setting for this hotel is really nice, nestled on a hill with lots of trees surrounding. We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. The hotel is in need of some serious updating, especially in terms of the beds which were hard as rocks and made it near impossible to sleep. The dinner buffet was nice but the selection was mostly limited to Japanese food and a couple "western" items. There are a few baths on site but if you have tattoos, you will not be allowed to go in the onsen. The hotel has a games room, karaoke and a massage parlor, unfortunately if you are pregnant, they won't massage you.

Great stairways or optional routes for mountain lovers. The 1,445 steps to the top are great for exercising or a relaxed photo shooting. Incredible landscapes and pure nature. Not recommended for kids under 5 years old specially in winter. If you have some time you can rent skiwear and confortable shoes to escalate the mountain full of snow. Since it is close to Nikko shrines, it's recommended to add this stop in your trip. It takes about 3 hours round trip but the view of Nikko is the best.

We stay one night as part of our tour of Japan. Hotel was selected by tour operators. Hotel is located in the woods and the foliage, both on trees and the leafs on ground create an amazing sigh. Waking up in the morning, and having the great view of the top of trees, in their majestic colors is a unique experience. The Japanese room was a good experience. the room was relatively large. The fact that no Wi-Fi in rooms gave the guest a more relaxed stay. the dinner was excellent! A buffet filled up with sea food and fish dishes, vegetables every thing nicely offered and tasty. The staff was very helpful and dishes were frequently replenished. The onsen was very nice it was the best in our trip.

The hotel provides free shuttle bus from station. It makes access easier. However, the last bus is 17:40 from Tobu Nikko Station. It is too early. I went Oku-Nikko by a long distance bus. Considering traffic jam, I had to leave there before 15:00 to catch the shuttle bus. The room is wide and they provide buffet in morning and evening. The menu was Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Spanish, a good variety. There were a lot of guests with kids. When I went to a big bathroom at 17:30, the place was like battlefield! Mothers were shouting and kids were crying loudly. I could not relax at all. I had a bath again after 21:00. It became quiet.
