We chose this ryokan due to this proximity to the heritage sites. We just walked from the hotel to the sites and had a wonderful time. The hotel also provided us with shuttle service from the NIkko-tobu station and back. A wonderful gesture.

When we stayed there was an English speaker sometimes on reception; you should be fine communicating via email.
