Location is great. The hotel is in need of refurbishment and the rooms are starting to feel tired. There is noticeable dirt in the bathroom and room. Seems like lazy housekeeping. There was no water in the room on arrival. If this is the New Otani standard, I won’t stay with this hotel chain. Definitely not worth paying a premium for this hotel.
Good location, good views, front staffs very helpfull convenient to restaurant, could work from your room as social distances and COVID-19 epidemic spreading, But room very dusty, need professional house keeping,
Great location as the hotel is right next to JR Station Sakuragicho （桜木町). There are attractions and shops near the hotel with walking distance. We were assigned to a room which can see Mount Fuji. I believe some room will be seeing the Yokohama harbour. Room rates was great with the quality of the hotel, highly recommended.
Hotel with the best view in Yokohama. The hotel is at Stone throwing distance from Sakuragicho railway station & has several restaurants located around that are walking distance. Centrally located place helps you travel smarter.
We stayed here during the world cup and it was perfect for location, size of rooms, views, quality of the restaurant, cleanliness and stylish. Obviously being in Yokohama, you are a good 30 mins from Tokyo by train, but the links are so good, it is actually nice being in the quieter part of the area but there are plenty of restaurants in the area.
I stayed at New Otani maybe 20 times within a period of 6 months. One day I was booked into a different hotel which was extremely tiny and smoke smell. It was raining, and when I managed to walk to Otani they gave me a room on the spot saved my day. It is nice and clean. You can walk to the shopping center without going to the street and when you experience an earthquake you are only stuck on the second floor, not like my friends at Royal Park 55th. There is a bakery at the train station and a lovely almost German-like beer restaurant not far from it. Apart from Royal park, I have also experienced another two close by - horrible! Smoke smell in rooms and dirty. If I go to Yokohama again I would only choose New Otani. It looked after me well. I have prefered to eat outside hotel tough.…
We choose this hotel because of its location near the cruise ship terminal. You can see the cruise ships at the terminal from the hotel. If you plan to have breakfast in the morning, prepay for the breakfast. It is a very nice buffet from 7 to 10 AM. Our room was comfortable and well equipped except for 2 issues. When we arrive late afternoon it was very hot, because the air conditioning turns off when no one is in the room. It took quite a while to cool off - about 30 minutes to an hour. The second issue is the internet. There are two ways to access. We tried going in thru the “new Otani inn” and had intermittent success. The front desk advised us to go thru the room number that has a password on the TV. I had to actively share the access with my spouse. Both of us got on with our iPads, but I never could get in either way with my iPhone XR. The WiFi worked best in the middle of the night. The hotel is adjacent to the Sakuragicho train station. You have to exit the station towards the water and turn left. There is a shopping center building with an escalator going up one side to your right as you face the building. When you get to the top of the escalator turn left into the hotel lobby, which is on the 3rd floor. The express train from Narita airport goes to the Yokohama station, not to the Sakuragicho station. To get to Sakuragicho from the Yokohama station take the blue train from platform 3 and go one stop. The room is compact, but has lots of amenities, a fancy Japanese toilet/bidet, good shower and good lighting in the bathroom. The twin sized beds are comfortable. There is a safe, refrigerator and wrapped toothbrushes, Qtips, plastic brushes, etc. the shampoo etc are in large containers. …
Hotel is in a great location, 2 mins from the JR suburban station, the hotel is contained in a shopping centre, though the the products are mid to high end and pricey. English was good yet service was abrupt, no check in prior to 3pm the front desk will bold your bags. Rooms are small and modern, again CNN is your English tv channel, the breakfast buffet is very good and with an omelet station. The stand out for this hotel is the view, make sure you get a harbour view, it is OMG WOW. All the standard amenities are close by. Only issue, we had a triple room, each bed is allocated 1 small pillow, not much bigger than a cushion, we asked for an additional pillow and was given a no as the hotel has no spare pillows and 1 per bed only.
The hotel is just a stone throw from the Sakuragicho station, on the top of a mall. There is a direct access hidden corridor from the 3rd floor of the mall. The rooms are a nice size, well maintained interior, modern , I would say. I stayed in the back room facing the train tracks but no noise heard at all. The bed is comfy. There is a kettle with coffee and teas available. The bathroom is a good size too with many amenities and a hair drier. What I felt really cool is a phone that you can take it even out of the hotel and serve as a normal local phone as well as a hotspot. This may be the coolest thing in a big hotel in Japan, you dont need to "hunt" for roaming data. I didn't try the breakfast as in general it is more than I need. Instead, on the 3rd floor back entrance, there is a convenience store that can fulfill your needs even in the middle of the night. Restaurants, apart of the mall, that I don't feel interesting, you may need to walk to neighboring stations or malls and you may find more interesting restaurants.…
This hotel is more interested in maximising room occupancies and has no interest or consideration towards overseas travellers experiencing any sudden or unavoidable changes or delays to their travel plans. Definitely not equipped to handle overseas visitors for 2019 World Cup Rugby and 2020 Olympics!! There are plenty of equal or better hotels in the area to provide you with decent service.
