It's my first time in Japan, and definitely first time in Hakone. My first worry was that it would be inaccessible. But thankfully Hakone is well-connected by multiple bus lines. If you are staying in Hakone, would highly recommend the unlimited bus pass. On to the ryokan. We (my friend and I) got a room without the private onsen. While...

First time staying in Hakone although i had been here once for a day trip. The ryokan is located about 30 - 40mins bus trip from Odawara station and can be accessible by Bus T route. Although it is not near to the main Hakone Yumoto station but its geographical location enables you to access 5 main tozan bus route...

Friendly check-in; good size room with separate sleeping area, ensuite (indoor) toilet and private outside bathing facilities; private hot spring bath was good; first evening meal not successful, especially as one of us doesn't eat pork and the food was already laid out on our allocated table, with a large amount of pork over the vegetables; second evening meal fairly...

A lovely and quiet onsen hotel in Hakone area. We booked the villa with private open air onsen. It was a great experience. Room is spacious because it's a villa with double floor being the bed on the 2nd floor. the open air onsen is on the first floor right in the garden. Bus stop is a couple minutes walk...

Hotel provide few type of room, one in main building, another is opposite Annex building. I love the Onsen bathroom, and the dinner and breakfast I would like to say irresistible....

we booked a room with private onsen and it's definitely worth it. breakfast and dinner are provided so we didnt have to worry about food other than lunch (we went around the area during the day so it's the perfect arrangement!) - the staff were very helpful and there's direct delivery for your luggage to hakone yumoto station :)

I would describe this property as a perfect onsen resort. We were pleasantly surprised by the luxury of the room space, cleanliness, facilities and the private onsen bath area. A sumptuous Shabu Shabu dinner (included in the room package) was served at either 6pm or 7pm, and the seating was organised by room number. After dinner, we took a stroll...

We have spend a night at the property enjoying the in-room onsen with outdoor temperature of average 10degc, even though the shower is completely outdoor together with the onsen, it is bearable even at that temperature. The onsen is big enough for two pax to get in and huge for one pax, onsen temp is very comfortable probably about 40...

This is our second stay at Sengokuhara Shinanoki Ichinoyu. The first time was in mid 2014 and the food wasn't to our liking but having a private hot spring in the room was very enjoyable. This time around, we made reservations a little late so most other resorts were either too expensive or did not have a private hot spring...

I traveled with a friend who unfortunately had a small tattoo on the chest and couldn't go to the public bathroom because of it (tattoos are a big no-no in Onsens). That being said, we were extremely pleasantly surprised that there was a Hot Source Stone Bath in our room's balcony! For such a price, I must say I was...
