The Musashiya is right by the shore and offers comfortable rooms with a lake view, hot onsen(s) with a lake view, comfortable Japanese bed(s) on tatami - and a beautiful special seven dishes evening meal served in the room. Japanese breakfast? A "must" experience - at least once. From the hotel no Mt Fuji view (hidden by hills). However, just...

Yes the wallpaper is stained, and the ladies outdoor hot tub is smaller and dingy compared to the men's, but what an amazing other-worldly experience! The impeccably polite 70-85 year old staff speak smatterings of English and Chinese. The dinner served on the tatami mats of our room were among the most elaborate of our life, looking out on lake...

Charming, old fashion hotel with traditional Japanese rooms (ryokans). The onsen (hot spring bath) is great with superb view on the lake. The staff is very kind and helpful. The wifi is only available in the lobby.

It was worth the winding journey to get to Motoharkone. The bus from Odawara train station stops just across the hotel. When you get off the bus, turn facing the opposite side of the road and walk 2 mins to your left. The hotel maybe a bit old but we didn't mind. It was clean. The toilet may be a bit...

I agree with many post that this is an old hotel, however it has such charm. A beautiful view of the lake, very helpful staff, who were so sweet to give me hand warmers when I walked in cold after a morning walk. The breakfast was nice, I had he western style, eggs toast coffee etc. The room was a...

The hotel has excellent lake view. Its kind of semi-japanese hotel. There are lot of facilities. However, we didn't use any so cannot comment. The staff is pretty old but kind enough to help you. They stored our baggage till chechin time as we came early in morning. Internet is only available at lobby which is highly inconvinient for foreigners.

Although the person who attended on us was very very nice. This place is a Di disgrace, especially if it were claiming to give you a Japanese experience you would expect so much more I suppose of the Japanese efficiency, hygiene and ambience. We got none. I have data yes at many old hotels but none that was this bad....

The hotel is very old, but clean. The value of this hotel is in whole Japanese experience, therefore I recommend this hotel only if you book also the in-room dinner, which is served in your tatami room by the hostess (dressed in kimono). While you are in onsen (spa), which was nice, clean, good views of the lake, but with...

Had a very pleasant stay there with my friends in early August! The staff told us about the cruise to see the fireworks that night, which would start from our hotel. The fireworks festival was amazing. <3 The staff were all nice and friendly, and very accommodating (and they were very happy we spoke Japanese as well). We had an...

“We did not pay extra for the lake view and were lucky, cause we got a room which partially had the lake view, partially the mount view. Honestly, I dont think it is worth paying extra for the view, cause I guess you will be out during the day and the after the sun goes down, you wont see much.”
