We recently spent a night at this well run hotel, arriving by train. We walked up from the station, encountering the steep slope mentioned in other reviews. Would have been much easier to catch the cable car up one stop. The room that we had was large with a bath tub on the balcony. The bath that evening was beautiful....

It is probably a rather old building but has been carefully refurnished and well maintained. There is no sign of age. The twin room we occupied is very large, at least 40 sq metres in size. The decorations are a bit plain, no look of modern luxuries such as see-through bathroom, but it does contain all necessary facilities. Free Wifi...

The hotel is located near Gora Station but be prepared to walk up a rather steep slope to get there. Alternatively you can take the cable car and alight just 1 stop after Gora Station. We stayed at the standard twin room which is quite big with comfortable twin beds. Guests can choose the yukata provided by the hotel that...

Stayed at Merveille for 2 nights with my hubby and boy. Hotel was actually very easy to locate and reasonably convenient. We stopped at the station after Gora station and walked a short distance before reaching the hotel. Check in - was smooth although they didn't allow for early check in. Nonetheless we left our luggages in the hotel and...

A nice ryokanlike hotel. Dinner and breakfast are included. Dinner is a nice kaiseki ryori (traditional Japanese meals). There is a convenience store near hotel, but it's not 24 hour one (I think it was open until 9p.m. or sth). If you have a prior booking (I'm not sure about other cases) you can contact hotel when you arrive at...

This is the place to experience real Japanese onsen culture. The Japanese family room for 4 is spacious and great. We had our first experience at the public hot spring, and we literally went there for a dip 2-3 times per day! You can choose your favourite yukata at the lobby, so some of us tried a few different designs...

We stayed there for one night with dinner and breakfast included. The staff is really nice and making efforts to speak English (even a little bit of French !). We could not enter the public bath because of my tattoo but we really enjoy our private bath on the balcony. Typical kaiseki dinner full of surprises and really good Japanese...

This Japanesse inn was a good experience in the complete culture. They offer cotton kamona in every size to be worn everywhere in the inn. If you have never had a Japanese hot bath I suggest you you tube it so you can know the process. The food at this resturant was excellent except the western breakfast. I suggest Japanesse...

Despite it's bland, modern exterior/entry, this Japanese inn provides traditional comfort with large rooms, indoor hot springs, 24 hour tea/coffee dispensars, afternoon tea time with a white chocolate fountain, and tasty cuisine. It's an ideal location for walkers as directly across the street is a park. Also, down the hill is Gyoza Center with a local narrow gauge train and...
