This hotel is some distance outside of Takayama so you have to get the shuttle bus in and out. Unfortunately we were given old instructions (the station has just been remodelled) and waited at the wrong station exit so missed the bus. Fortunately someone from the hotel spotted us and came to ask where we were staying, he then took...

We stayed two nights at this hotel as an upgrade from the listed tour hotel, and it was a very pleasant change to get a full, palatial western-sized room (compared with other business-style hotels on our tour). COmplete with bath robes, yakutas (to go to the spa) We enjoyed the spas (all one temperature - a little hot for our...

This is great hotel. Rooms and bathrooms large by Japan standard, onset is one of the best we have been too. Restraints choices are good. There is a shuttle bus that will pick up and drop you at the station. Get a room over looking the alps. Staff were helpful but not a lot of English

This is a large hotel with very spacious rooms with smallish bathrooms. It is situated above the lovely city of Takayama with great views down the valley towards the city. The beds are firm but comfortable. There is free wifi available in the rooms.

This was a beautiful hotel and the on site On Sen was amazing. This was my first experience of an On Sen in Japan and once I got over my shyness it was excellent. The view was amazing, the facilities excellent and the location was great. There was a free shuttle bus into the town (10 minutes away) every half...

Nice hotel, nice situation. We had a large room, overlooking Takayam, 2 windows to make the most of the views. Two large, comfortable beds, nice bathroom area. We tried the Onsen (hot spring baths) and experience NOT to miss! Just be aware that you are naked (baths are segregated by sex). It was a real experience. The food in the...

We stayed here as part of a touring holiday in Honshu. Firstly, let's be clear that the food, especially the beef, is very good. Whether that outweighs the rudeness of the staff will have to be your own decision. Our party was booked to eat at 7pm but our bus was delayed and our guide, after a lot of dialogue...

We had a large bedroom with a large picture window giving magnificent views over Takayama and the surrounding valley and hills.Bathroom a bit small and dated by European standard, but that seems to be the norm in Japan. Buffet restaurant had a good choice of food but ran out of some dishes as the hotel was full for the Autumn...

The hotel is away from the town of Takayama. You will need to use the shuttle service from the hotel which takes about 10mins. The town is beautiful. I felt the hotel had the bare minimum it requires. The room was large and comfortable. There was a mini bar with nothing in it. There were no water bottles in the...

This hotel was disappointing and not up to the standards of cleanliness that we have experienced elsewhere in Japan. The hotel is older, but not well maintained. Carpet throughout was quite dirty--you could see the paths people take into and out of the elevators lined with ground-in dirt. Carpet in room had small stains & there was a stain on...
