One of the most incredible lodges I have ever stayed at. remote and very close to nature, you wake up by the breeze and sound of birds; you fall asleep with views of the starts. Well led by excellent manager, Brian, and fantastic staff. super fresh food. great excursions on the river with sightings of crocs, elephants, hippos; very good...

Dear Kristin, Great to hear from you and thank you for your feedback on TripAdvisor. The island is exactly how you described… remote and close to nature. The birdsong fluttering through the leafy trees, carried by the gentle breeze is a real treat and with so much animal life, you hardly have to leave your hammock. The chef will be...

We came from staying in game camps, and the feel here is quite similar- and we certainly felt close to the wildlife hippos, elephants etc- as the rooms are extremely open which we were slightly concerned about, but all was fine. We had a stunning view of about 200 head of buffalo one evening coming to drink. The food and...

Dear CCSh, Lovely to hear from you and thank you for the review. It always amazes me when guests talk of the plentiful game seen at Sindabezi… perhaps I should stop being so surprised! The river and its banks will always throw something up during the day as animals boldly quench their thirst at the more gentle gradient points in...

My fiance took me to Sindabezi Island to propose. This was the most magical experience of my life! The staff made the trip. Going out of their way to accommodate our every need, very friendly and helpful. The food and service was out of this world! Sindabezi is a gem, a treasure, heaven on earth. Words can not explain this...

Unsophisticated but comfortable, delicious meals and the friendliest staff who bent over backwards to look after this 75 year old especially on the last night when I was the only guest. Brenda provided delightful company for dinner under the stars. Had a close encounter with an elephant who woke me up from a deep sleep around midnight when he banged...

Dear pasummers7, Apologies for seeming to have missed an earlier opportunity to reply to your wonderful review of your stay at Sindabezi Island. We have had a dual listing for our little island lately and this has led to a couple of reviews going astray! We are happy to hear of experiences that reflect our own personal knowledge of this...

We stayed here for two days after two days at sister hotel Tongabezi. To get there is a 10/15 minute river trip from Tongabezi. We had two rooms, both open sided, and with spectacular views of the the river. Our room overlooked Zimbabwe and the beach on the Zimbabwe side often had elephants, waterbuck, Impala, warthogs and a variety of...

Hi Richard, Thank you for the recent review of your stay at Sindabezi Island. We had just finished reading your review of Tongabezi and were thrilled to see there is one here for Sindabezi too! The natural surroundings of Sindabezi make for wonderful game viewing opportunities, but nothing beats getting out onto the river to glide through the lapping rapids,...

My mom and I had a great experience on Sindabezi Island (part of Tongabezi) and would highly recommend this rustic getaway to anyone wanting to visit Zambia/Vic Falls (would recommend this authentic experience over staying at the main lodge as well). This is not your typical 5 star resort, Leading Hotels type of experience. This island is a beautiful, luxury...

Hi rachelmaya, Thank you for your recent review. We are thrilled to hear of your experience with us here at Sindabezi Island… your description is the very essence of this getaway. I have travelled to many places but have never experienced anything like the beautiful Sindabezi Island. We were travelling as a family of 5 including 3 teenagers and this was the start of a week in Zambia and an opportunity to see the Victoria Falls (stunning as well!). Quite honestly, we could have never left the island where you are...

Dear Mark B, Thank you for your warm words and sentiments. Whether it’s general game wandering close to...

This was the last stop on my 18 year old son's and my trip to Africa. We had to transfer here from Kasane in Botswana and that was a well organised adventure in itself involving safari van to a port, ferry to Zambia and the "four corners" where Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia meet, another vehicle to Tongabezi resort on...

I am fairly well traveled but simply was blown away by the setting and the people at Sindabezi. Although the setting might seem like something out of Robinson...
