I found Bushbuck almost accidentally while looking for somewhere to stay. However, a discoveries go, is is hard to imagine a better piece of good fortune. The place is astonishing, it is exactly what you might imagine an African farmhouse to be like, marvellous to look at, peaceful and everything works (apart from the local electricity company, but even so,...

We stayed at the Bushbuck for 6 nights at the beginning of February and were so pleased with our choice. We wanted somewhere different from the usual big and impersonal hotel and we got just that. The Bushbuck is a lovely old traditional farmhouse located several kilometres outside Livingstone town overlooking the Zambezi, the bush surroundings were extremely peaceful with...

Nomad African Travel organised a wonderful trip for us in the Okavango Delta in September 2013, and Oriel and Alan joined us at Kasane, from where they showed us some of the wonders of Chobe including the best leopard sighting we could ever have wished for. Afterwards, they took us to Bushbuck River House and we spent 3 delightful days...

Bushbuck is a gem in Zambia. When we were looking for places to stay in either Livingstone or Vic Falls I passed up booking here initially due to the location--we've had some bad experiences in the bush. In any event shortly before our trip I canceled our reservation at a hotel in town, and booked here--it was the best decision...

We stayed here for a few nights in September. Oriel and Alan did a fantastic job of making us feel welcome and we sincerely enjoyed our stay. All of our activities were arranged for us- which was a huge plus and made the trip extra convenient. First, a day trip to Chobe / Botswana. We saw elephant after elephant on...

We enjoyed a wonderful stay a Bushbuck. From Bushbuck we went on a River Cruise, to Chobe National Park for a day and canoeing on the Zambezi. Everything was organized for us so we were free to relax and enjoy. The property is lovely and is home to incredible birds and wildlife. Early morning on the patio watching birds and...

We stayed at Bushbuck for 3 days in October and it was perfect. Alan and Oriel are knowledgable and attentive hosts and the other folks staying at the time were good fun so we became firm friends during our stay, they definitely added to the good feeling we have about Bushbuck. Our stay was relaxing tho we also managed to...

We stayed at Bushbuck River House for 4 nights with friends and had the most wonderful time. It was very relaxing, which was exactly what we needed after 5 exciting Safari days at Flatdogs Camp. We loved watching the elephants being so close to the property - just at the end of the garden. Also Alberts food was delicious, his...

We stayed at Bushbuck River House for two nights during September, and had a lovely time here. Alan and Oriel were very welcoming and helpful, and chef Albert produced some superb meals. Unfortunately the Ellies and Buffalo came through each day when we were out, but we saw plenty of other animals, including the bushbuck. Our trips were well organised...

Bushbuck River House is a magical place. I spent three wonderful days there and came away feeling that I had been given a very special gift. Or rather, many gifts: the gift of watching elephants feeding and resting by the river in front of the house, the gift of birdsong, of flowers, of exploring an island in the Zambezi, of...
