BRH is very much an upmarket B&B home-stayish experience rather than a tourist lodge or hotel. Rooms, and management style are a tad quirky, but overall we had a good experience. Don't expect a modern bedroom or bathroom; or decent wifi. While the place is located in bush right on the Zambesi, it is a bit of a drive into...

Shower tray full of insects on arrival, 6 wall spiders in our bedroom, when asked to remove, we were told 'spiders stay'. Told we could not eat inside at night, pre-paid evening meal was denied, due to visit to Victoria falls! Interrupted by the manager during every meal, who has an inability to listen, but loves to tell you all...

Being aware that I am answering a second bad review from the same reservation I don't want to repeat the same comments, but I do feel it necessary to give a balanced view of our meals because we have a very good reputation for our food. The cost of U$30 is for a three course meal, not one course as...

The room we stayed in was not clean, there were big spiders everywhere, when I asked the owner could he remove them he said no that they eat the mosquitoes! I'm terrified of spiders so didn't sleep very well, the shower tray was full of bugs and dead flies, the food was so so, we had our breakfast in the...

It can be very difficult for guests to adjust to Africa when it is their first experience and they have a fear of spiders and any other insects. Coming to stay at the end of the rainy season all guests are sure to encounter them. It is the case that we don't like to kill every insect or creepy crawly...

Yes, the lodge is a bit out of town and getting into and back from Livingstone will add to the cost but if you plan carefully you can limit the travelling. The huge bonus is that you can sit on the patio watching the abundant birdlife and other animals that come into the garden - on our last day we...

We had a wonderful few days at the lodge and wished we had more time there. Linda was a great host. So knowledgeable and helpful, taking us places we would have otherwise missed. Setting was gorgeous, a little off the beaten track but just what we wanted. Facilities were lovely, comfortable and clean. Food that Albert prepared was very tasty...

We visited Victoria Falls and were very fortunate to find the Bushbuck River House for a three day stay. The house and gardens are located directly on the River Zambezi. The accommodation, breakfast and dinners were excellent, all taken on the external verandah listening to the wildlife. Linda was superb in her management of the place and her advice and...

A wonderful stay, particularly made possible by the attention to detail and knowledge of the manager, Linda. Nothing was too much trouble, even completing a job application form for me on her Apple Mac. Food, rooms and service were great. Good value for money.

10 of our family spent a wonderful week at the lodge for our daughters wedding in Livingstone. The owner (Oriel) and manager (Linda) were great hosts. The food far exceeded our expectations and Albert produced some great dishes and he and Linda made sure that as a vegetarian my food was just as surprising and delightful. The lodge is in...

We stayed here for 3 nights, great rooms and brilliant food cooked by Albert with a great explanation of each course. Whilst there we could hear lions across the river and on 2nd day a whole herd of elephants crossed the river right at the end of the garden. Was great to see these great animals crossing the river helping...

We stayed at Bushbuck River House for 3 nights and it could not have been better. The location is a short drive from Livingstone and not far from the airport, but just inside the park, so there's a very good chance of seeing lots of wildlife, there are no fences around the property so there a real feel of being...
