The building reflects the continental climate with hot summers and cold winters and thus looks a little like a fortress when approached from the street. The staff was very attentive and helpful The common areas in and outdoor are very nice and inviting. When temperature permits, the courtyard is a nice place to have coffee/tee and/or read a book Breakfast... More

The Sherdor looks a little like a fortress when you are approaching it from the street. After you enter the reception area (cool and shady) you are greeted by the helpful young staff. Here you will get any information on sights or restaurants you need and the guys and girls will even get a taxi for you and negitiate the... More

It was the best hotel during our stay in Uzbekistan. Very-very nice staff, nice and clean rooms, maybe a little small. Very nice and rich breakfast on tapchans in the hotel's atrium. I had food poisoning when we arrived there from Tashkent, so I was sick the first two days there, but the staff was great, they made me rice... More

The hotel had a lovely large room that was serviced daily. Comfortable beds, helpful staff, generous breakfasts. It takes about 15 min to walk to the Registan. There are several good restaurants nearby. There was no WiFi - this would be the one improvement we would suggest.

if not "no internet" and electricity problems, the hotel could become one of the most attrractive places to stay -- good location, close to Registan (10-15 mins walk) and restaurants (such as Karimbek). Design of rooms is pretty, with old pictures on walls and bowls/plates around. they also have sauna which I never had a chance to visit but they... More

We had wanted to stay at the Malika Prime, but it was full of tour groups (the whole of Uzbekistan was full of groups when we were there in September). Our travel agency booked us here instead. The staff are very helpful and attentive, and speak excellent English. Ask them for good exchange rates and they'll be able to help.... More

The Sherdor is a pleasant though basic hotel. It is reasonably well located near the park in the Russian part of town. The main site the Registan is about 25 minutes walk away. The staff are very pleasant and helpful; one of the new members of staff was particularly keen and helpful as well as having good English. There is... More

Spent there 1 night because the hotel we wanted was full. It was quite a good substitute. Traditional style, friendly and professional staff, nice breakfast, clean and stylish rooms and convenient location. It was a little bit cold in the room after sunset and then we had some problems with hot water. But hotel stuff quickly resolved this problem. Hotel... More
