My family and I stayed here for 10 days - we originally booked through booking.com and when making the booking we were told the address of the hotel was where the other Golden Sands buildings are which is actually in Dubai and where we wanted to be. It wasn’t until it was booked and close to the time of travel that we realised the booking had changed to the golden sands in Sharjah. This wasn’t the hotels fault but is relevant to the review. Sharjah is not a location we would return to, the traffic is far too busy and overall isn’t close enough to the tourist attractions. The hotel itself was disappointing; we booked for 5 people but there was only enough beds for 4 so the youngest ended up having to share with us, the washing machine literally bounced when working - it bounced so much that it would move out of place each time and the noise was horrendous. The fridge didn’t work so unable to keep water or anything else cool (we only realised it wasn’t working when the milk turned to cottage cheese overnight). The main bed was raised higher at the feet end than at the head end, which wasn’t very comfortable. There was loose taps, loose light fittings, rips in the sofas and in general the whole place needed a refurbishment. The bath felt like it would fall through when we stepped into it and the bathroom in general had marks and mould in places. The kitchen also looked grubby and needed a deep clean. The parking was a very very tight multi story car park - we have driven many time in many different countries and never seen such a tight car park. It wasn’t a problem to begin with because the hotel offered a valet service which was inclusive of the price we paid so we used this. However after dropping off the car with the valet one evening and then calling in the morning to have the car brought around, we were told that the hotel no longer offered valet. Our car keys had been left with the front desk and we had to navigate the car park ourselves for the remainder of our stay, which was only a problem because of how tight it was. Other guests also found it very tight. We were not told in advance that the valet would be stopping and at the start of our trip had been told it was included in the price we paid so not sure why it suddenly stopped. When we booked it said we had a balcony however this very small balcony could not be used. It was attached to the children bedroom (when we booked we had been informed it was attached to the living area) and there was a bed in front of the doors so to even access the doors would have meant moving furniture around. The balcony had clearly not been stepped on in quite some time because it was absolutely filthy. Overall a very disappointing stay. Even if this hotel had been in an area we would go back to we certainly would not stay in this hotel again.…
We have stayed at the hotel for our business trip as the hotel is conveniently located at the heart of sharjah within the expo. Upon arrival my colleagues have try to check in however the receptionist told them that the room will be readied in 30 minutes, after 30 minutes we have tried to approach the receptionist to ask again the waiting time however they keep on prolonging the said time. For the fourth time we have check with them the receptionist insists that since that the check in time will be 3PM the room is not prepared. While we understand that the check in time will be at 3PM they receptionist should not have keep us that long as we value our time as we are in business trip we could have done more besides waiting. Furthermore, while checking the room the curtains have stains the tablewares have dust. In Addition, the key cards are not working properly. 2 days straight there were no towels in the room, every time you ask them for it they will take a long time like 1 to 2 hours. While i have ask them to pick up the laundry in the morning i have to wait for 2 hours for them to pick up. As I'm on a business trip every hours are important. Hence, when i return to the hotel i would like to pay immediately the laundry however the guy from reception insist that the laundry department must come to my room and pay by then, i have informed him that my room will be checking out the next day hence there will be conflict but i will be moving my room to my colleagues room. Therefore i prefer to pay first. The guy maybe wilson insist that said protocol i have informed him and did not offer any solutions, the end phase that he had given to me was " so what do you want to do mam" , i have informed him i want to pay first so i do not need to chase them and keep telling them the same information . But he did not help at all as seems that the guest are not important at all. When returning to the hotel i have not received my laundry, neither the informations that i have informed Wilson that i will be moving my room to my colleagues. If such information are given properly to other departments we such guest are saving our time to keep on explaining to everyone of your colleagues every same situations. As i need to keep on explaining and waiting for everyone to just deliver my laundry. As we have extended our stay because of the restrictions in our home country. The receptionist on the other hand given us a call to the room and ask for our check our, which was funny as we my colleagues just extended a night at the front desk it self. The service and communication have big gaps in the hotel so such as small things can further affect guest. WE ARE GUEST. if you have troubles behind the hotel please fix that yourself and stop troubling the guest. We are here for the service and a PERIOD is not enough.…
The location is really convenient as it’s opposite to Sahara centre and just behind Sahara, you enter Dubai. So hiring taxi from there if travelling to Dubai is really economical. The rooms are spacious and staff is really courteous. Special Thanks to Althaf and Ramesh for making my long stay comfortable. Breakfast buffet is also good and has many options.

Amazing Christmas brunch at Elysian Restaurant. Totally worth every penny. The service is great, once we walked in were warmly greeted by Jackie and Raymond. Helpful assistance by lydia taking care of us making sure that everything is fine. Special thanks to the chefs Mr. abdel razzak and mazhar for the best meals and food recommendations. They’re checking with every guest about their experience and making sure its a moment to remember. Thank you all and merry Christmas!
We stayed for 18 days and The Staff is really friendly and very helpful. The staff helped us throughout our stay. The rooms were very comfortable. The hotels are very close to malls, bus stops and supermarkets.
Booked through Booking.com for a stay and prior to leave got an e mail that my credit card details were bounced So juts prior to my flight ,settled this and got a confirmation that my cc was accepted( An American Express Card that I have been using all over the world without any problems) Upon arrival after an 8 hour flight and at 1 a.m. my booking was cancelled and the hotel fully booked . No cooperation whatsoever from hotel staff, they put the blame on booking.com whilst booking .com blamed the hotel >in brief a catch 22 situation that had to be solved by myself > no appologies whatseover and an “unforgetable “experience .Lots to be learnt
I stayed with my newly wed friends last night and I was quite impressed how clean and cold the room is. The staff was very assistive, we had so many requests and all of them were addressed appropriately. I have written a separate review for the food we were served in their in-house restaurant which was also impressive. The reception down to housekeeping was very accommodating. The best hotel I have ever stayed in in Sharjah. Thanks Mr. Marwan. Hotel definitely deserves a recommendation!
