I like the garden which is carefully taken care of with cherry trees and mulberries and flowers. The manager showed us the old pictures and vedios in youtube about the TV show which was shoot in this hotel. It's absolutely a hotel with character and history. The room is simple but clean and cozy with traditinal Turkish ambience. And in... More

Numan Atak the owner-manager speaks excellent English and teaches English. He speaks a number of other languages too. Location is about a two block walk to the center of the town. Breakfast was warm and good. My budget room was small, but ample for a single traveler. Numan made my train reservation and purchased the ticket for me using his... More

Our five day stay in Goreme was marvelous in great part due to Numan; his staff, particularly Ahmet, and facility. There was a wonderful breakfast every morning. The location was central with several restaurants within a very short walk. He arranged transfer to and from the airport and offered to help arrange tours.

Our first time to visit Cappadocia among group of 12 friends. The hotel manager Numan was friendly and helpful in sharing information about the place. We dud the very early morning hot air balloon and later in the day visited the rock formation and the UN Heritage listed sites and other sites. Our tour guide Cengis Ozcan was very knowledgeable... My friend and I stayed at Saksagan for 2 nights during our backpacking trip to Turkey in late March. We flew from Istanbul to Kayseri and picked up by a private van at the airport arranged by the owner for less than 10EUR/person (which is much lower than the rate charged by normal shuttle vans). Despite the cold and snowy... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cave Hotel SAKSAGAN is an old cave Cappadocian house turned into an inn in 1983 and restorated in 2002. At the moment it is a small boutique hotel with 12 en-suite rooms that offer you history, nature and culture altogether and is ready to become your own home in Göreme. Rooms are located within fairy-chimneys and carved into rocks. All the rooms are clean, spacious, and decorated in the Ottoman Style by owner Osman Atak. “Although it wasn’t easy to work in the fairy-chimneys, because they are very tough, we achieved to set up the rooms and bathrooms into the fairy-chimneys with the help of modern devices” says Mr. Osman. Cave Hotel SAKSAGAN has a wonderful garden with the smells of hundreds of different flowers. The hotel is also known as “Garden of Piraye Hanım” by Turkish people after taking part in the common film series “Asmali Konak”. Breakfast in Cave Hotel SAKSAGAN is served either on the terrace, with its magical Göreme view, or in the garden accompanied with birds in songs. Special dinner parties or BBQ can be arranged on request. The hotel has 24 hours reception and provides hospitality at its best. ... more   less
