This review is to give an honest picture of the Hotel as it truly is and not what is shown on the website.

Having booked the best room according to the Reservation Manager after calling first (317) which was a sea view suite at a cost of 20,000TL (approx £990 gbp) for 8 days I was disappointed with what was deemed to be a 4 star hotel.

The suite comprises of a separate bedroom which is dark no windows and a double bed which felt like a wooden board. The saloon/lounge is dark with old furniture has a sofa bed ,fridge (decent. size) ,kettle ,no iron ,no minibar & limited sockets ,air con which switches off as soon as door opens & door that opens onto very small balcony with two chairs small table & a drying line.

The sea view is good but room overlooks a busy road, traffic is fairly constant all night if sleep is important.

Bathroom has a high sided old jacuzzi style bath with shower hose not easily accessible if you have any mobility issues and a wash basin at child’s height.

Housekeeping is not always consistent there is always a towel shortage , was told by numerous staff cutbacks are in place so things like towels are nort always plentiful until previous ones are dried, unbelievable for a 4 star hotel.

Pool area which is on the top terrace floor is probably the best feature which has a small unheated pool water cold, sun loungers and towels which can be obtained daily but never available at 9am when pool area opens sometimes 2 hours later. Drinks and snacks available at a reasonable cost 1.5 L water 10TL. Watch best before dates on snacks as some have expired previously but still being sold, appears to be no stock checking. Would also be interested when pool water quality is checked .

Breakfast is self service on the ground floor with very limited hot food selection very repetitive, always eggs ,no beans etc.

Note: if you want use of a safe in the room a charge of 20TL daily is charged and an extra room key is chargeable, very unusual in a so called 4 star hotel.

Management need to be visible but can understand why not and certainly need to speak to guests,

Hotel requires a major re curb and walk in showers installed if any chance to compete with llayda Hotel next door.

Would not recommend or re visit if you are expecting 4 star facilities or service & a standard sea view would be adequate if you need a 1 night stay.

Dear Guest, Thank you for rating us on Trip Advisor. We would like you to know that the Hotel Derici Management gives so much importance to our guests thoughts, since your stay in the hotel, analyzing, and giving feedback to help us improve our services We are trying our best to do better. First of all, the pictures and information on the website are certainly true. There is no iron in the room but we have laundry services. Minibars are empty due to the pandemic. To prevent unnecessary energy consumption, air conditioners do not operate when doors and windows are opened. The balcony door is double glazed, if you close it, no noise will come in. Also in the suite room there is a bedroom door that you can close and there is a separate air conditioner in the bedroom. The expiry dates of the snacks are always checked. Breakfast is open buffet and local foods are offered daily fresh in abundance. We charge a deposit for the extra door card and it is refunded on the day of departure. The management is definitely aware of the complaints reported to the reception. We would love to welcome you once again. Derici Hotel

We stayed in the Derici hotel for 2 weeks ,was in a fantastic location with fabulous views from the front and side balconies, it is on a very busy road so can be a bit noisy. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful especially the fella that ran the poolside bar he works really hard and was always polite .The rooms are a bit dated but our room was cleaned daily by a lovely lady not sure of her name byt we were in room 512 .Breakfast was a basic continental with a good choice of cereal ,bread ,yogurts and fresh fruit . We have been to Kusadasi 15 times never stayed in the Deric before ,next time we holiday in Turkey 🇹🇷 we would definitely stay here again and would recommend, the only reason I gave 4 was because the rooms need upgrading
Hope to return next year .
Also Cira on the front desk was a lovely helpful girl 😍

The two best things I can say about this hotel are that it has a great central location and it has a really good sun terrace for bathing. My wife and I stayed for 10 nights.
Now for the not so good bits.
Breakfasts were awful and if you wanted a full English, it was extra (and expensive) .
We were bed and breakfast clients. I would advise you to save money and book room only.
No facilities in the room to make a tea or coffee, but you could buy them.
You can't use the room safe unless you pay a daily fee for a code.
Study the photos of the rooftop pool. You'll notice no one is in it on most. The reason? It's extremely cold. In fact, if I didn't know I'd swear they keep it chilled to save money on cleaning it by keeping guests out of it.
Forget the nice photos of table tennis and pool table. They are just one step away from being put in a skip.
I hope you are beginning to get the picture here.
Maid service wasn't much better. We returned to our room one day to find she had opened the patio doors and left them open. It would have been simple for anyone to have climbed over from another room and help themselves to our valuables. On another day towels were removed and not replaced and toilet rolls were not replenished, causing us to try and find the maid to get them.
On ALL 10 days of our stay there was building work being carried out at the next building from 8am till 5.30pm making it impossible to stay in the room with the doors open, let alone sit on the tiny patio. When we complained we were told there were no other rooms available.
And finally. We had to vacate the room at 12 noon and were told our room was already booked so we couldn't have a late check out (our transfer wasn't until 7.50pm) but, they could rent us a room with no view and no balcony until we were picked up and it would cost us 60 euros for those 7hours.
Kusadasi is a wonderful location, but I'm positive we will not be returning to the hotel darinci. All they seem to be interested in is your money.

The outside appearance gives a very good impression. Upon arrival all staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. As soon as your stay begins this changes and members of the team let the hotel down. They were rude and ignorant. The young lady on reception was lovely though.
The rooms are poor with limited storage, beds are rock hard and flat pillows - not a singlr good night sleep. No top sheet on the beds - blankets provided that were itchy and unsure if they were washed before our use.
Cleaning standards were not very good and many areas untouched for days and had a cleaner return back to our room on the evening after cleaning that day and just walked in our room with a towel. Reported this and was made to feel a liar.
Breakfast buffet was appalling, very limited selection unless you wanted to pay for a proper breakfast despite this being included.
WIFI had to be purchased and despite us not leaving the hotek on the lat day until 5pm our WIFI was disconnected at 12 pm, absolutey disgraceful.
beggars entering the hotel begging for money.
The roof top pool area was padlocked and never opened on time. Sun loungers were cracked, broken and lounger toppers were dirty.
The lif kept breaking down whilst in action, reported but still happened.
Building works happening outside of your windows with noise going on late into the evening
Tui board was empty, no details provided for guests including departure times, if we didnt have the app we would not have known.
Overall the location was ok but not what expected and definitly would not re-visit

We would like you to know that the Hotel Derici Management gives so much importance to our guests thoughts, since your stay in the hotel, analyzing, and giving feedback to help us improve our services We are trying our best to do better. First of all, all our staff are at your service with a smiling face so that you can have a better holiday. When you check in to the room, you will find the piques have been washed. During your stay, they are washed every two days. Our beds are medium hard. The check out cleaning procedure of the rooms and the daily cleaning procedure are different. Kahvaltı açık büfe olup, yerel yiyecekler günlük olarak bolca taze olarak sunulmaktadır. You can use WIFI with your passport number and room number from check-in to room check-out. If you keep a room until 16:00 after checking out at 12:00, you can get a free new password from the reception. You do not pay for this. Swimming pool opening is at 09:00 and closing is at 19:00. We checked the sunbeds and there are no broken sunbeds at the moment. We would love to welcome you once again. Derici Hotel

Visitors Turkey for the first time and having package arranged by family member. We arrived in to the hotel and check in was quite quick, however entering the room things changed. The room had some plastering completed prior to our arrival, the pieces of plaster and wall were just left laying around the floor with no attempt to clear it. We told the staff member who assisted us up with luggage, he phoned reception and spoke with them, quite angry. We were the sent back downstairs, with luggage. 20 mins later the room was now cleaned. The gentlemen on reception told us he would look at moving us to a sea view room the following day, this never happened.

The room itself was really dated. Bathroom was ok with a large shower cubical, although the drain wasn’t very good and if you spent a long time in the shower it would overflow.

The beds are awful. They are rock hard mattresses. We kept asking reception if they had any other mattresses, or mattress toppers, which I’ve heard they have provided previously (reviews) first they tried to put blankets under the sheet which needless to say didn’t help. After a week of asking, they eventually put mattress toppers on the beds.

Being at the back of the hotel it was unfortunate that every morning 5am the mosque would sing, which was loud in the back rooms, then again around 10pm. We asked about moving to a front room and the response was welcome to Turkey, I appreciate local culture and religion but this was waking us every morning.

The air con in the room is loud, we turned it off on a night, however the room next door was on constant and their power box was by our balcony so again this was loud all night. There was also the sound of water dripping constant from the bathroom (guess from the floor above (main AC boxes for hotel)

The breakfast wasn’t great, if you can book room only, save the money and go to a local cafe which are relatively cheap.

The indoor pool in the basement isn’t really swimmable as it is far too cold, even though the hotel advertise as heated indoor. The rooftop pool was ok, small though so only takes a few guests to go up for it to be full. By the pool is a bar where you can order drink / food. Again food is expensive in the hotel and cooked on the ground floor so it does take a long time to be served.

I think the most disappointing part is the staff friendliness. There was a young lady who spoke good English, she would acknowledge us everytime she saw us. Another man who I don’t know his name, was nice he recommended us visit a National park. Everyone else was rude, they wouldn’t say hello unless you did first, they wouldn’t ask about the stay or your holiday.

The only thing going for this hotel is location, being on the sea front and walking distance to all restaurants and bars.

I certainly wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We have just spent 2weeks at the Derici Hotel and found all staff to be very friendly. Breakfast was typical Turkish but always plenty to eat . Pool area was great always sunbeds available and lovely pool bar area. Rooms were cleaned everyday and we had sea view rooms which had beautiful views off the sunset and to watch cruise liners coming in and going ou. All in all had a great stay and definitely would come back and recommend your hotel.

My review is open and honest in the hope that people can make an educated choice. We were provided 2 nites stay at the Derici through the travel agent who arranged our tour of Ephesus and Pamukalle. This is truly the worst hotel we have stayed at. The front desk staff never honored any of our requests. The room was tiny and felt unclean, the bathroom was a hole in the wall barely enough to hold one person with a shower that was a joke. The young male front desk clerk was rude and arrogant at time of checkout insisting we pay for a safety deposit box we did not use because it never worked and despite complaining to front desk clerk (Ciera) who promised to have someone fix it - no one ever showed up! Avoid this property at all costs. what you see in the pictures is not what you get.

Loved this hotel
As a solo traveller I felt very safe here
Great rooftop pool with a very helpful guy working there.
Rooms cleaned to a high standard with fresh towels every day
2 minute walk to centrum and taxi rank right outside
I had a sea view room which was fab.
Can’t comment on breakfast as I liked to go out in the mornings but others I met said it was good
Only small issue was that I couldn’t rent an iron which is strange for a hotel. They wanted me to send my clothes away to be ironed which would of been very expensive.

I have just spent a week at the Derici and I will never stay there again. It was a group booking with my sister, nephew, niece and husband. When we arrived early hours of the morning the reception was frosty not welcoming, we were given rooms on different floors which was not ideal, the rude porter then took my sister to her room leaving myself and husband to get our own way to our room. The rooms were musty and not very clean but all we wanted to do was sleep, that did not happen as the beds were like sleeping on a brick and the one and only pillow was filled with lead feathers you could knock someone out with. The bathroom was dirty, the tap was loose and it smelt funny. The door to the room would close only by slamming it which was not good if you are coming in late as it will echo all over the floor. There was no glasses or kettle in the room which is not ideal as you cannot drink the water so a kettle to boil water would be appreciated.
My nephew went to have a shower and got stuck in the bathroom the door was jammed, my sister got the maid who got the maintenance man who was not helpful the maid was more concerned.
The carpets in the rooms were disgusting if you walked on it without shoes your feet or socks were filthy they really should clean them or replace.
The rooftop pool was tiny not big enough for the amount of guests in the hotel and it was filled with salt water which was not changed often enough.
The sun loungers were fought after as most of them were broken and stacked at the side of the pool deck. The door to the floor below the pool was locked and was not opened until 9am not a second before and caused a queue waiting to grab a lounger.
The Wi-Fi was terrible and would only work in certain areas of the hotel. When it came to check out we were told it was 12pm and this was confirmed on arrival but at 11.30am we received a call to say they would be switching off the power and less than 2mins later the rude porter arrived to say we had to leave, we had paid £50 for another room as we were not being picked up for the airport until 6.50 that evening, the room was not big enough for one person let alone 5 along with luggage no view or balcony it was £20 at most a total con.
I would not rate this hotel at all it needs to be downgraded.
