Unfortunately, upon arrival we were slightly disappointed with the appearance of the hotel and the surrounding area. The place needs a thorough renovation to resemble the hotel from the photos - the rooms are very communist-style, with wainscoting on the headboards, the doors in the wardrobes can barely be moved, the bathrooms are supposedly clean, but you're afraid to take a shower without flip-flops - in one word, the hotel is not visually impressive. On the plus side, tasty food. In our case, during a 4-day trip, on day 3 the food became slightly monotonous. The pool is not that big, but clean. We were at a time when it wasn't fully booked, so there was never a shortage of space on sun loungers by the pool or beach. Another advantage is the fact that it is a hotel for adults (only a small paddling pool for children by the pool, with no additional attractions). There is a Melex service to the beach once a day (between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. to the beach and between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. back). There is also a bar on the beach, but no alcoholic drinks - these are charged extra. It's about a 5-minute walk to the beach, but you have to cross a quite busy street, so I don't recommend it with children. There are also no animators during the day and no lifeguard at the pool. Every Saturday there is a Turkish evening with a barbecue and some additional attraction (in our case it was a dance group and a lady performing belly dancing). Another disadvantage is the poor knowledge of English by most of the staff - it is clear that they are focused on guests from Germany or Russia.

Lavitas is a very small hotel. Everything is like "happy family":-)
The location is great and the place is clean. The staff is very friendly and tries everything to make the stay as nice as possible. THANK YOU to the lovely lady for at Omlett Station :-) , we laughed a lot about the "chicken".
We haven't eaten so well in any hotel in Turkey as here at Lavitas. Taste of food is simply MEGA ! Of course, looking at the size of the hotel, there are no 12 different main courses - but there were 6 boxes of hot food - which ALL tasted very good. Sufficient for us and preferable to 10 that just don't taste good. There are also various salads, soup, fruits and desserts -- be sure to try the cheesecake -- super delicious.
Wi-Fi is free. Safe is charged daily with 2 euros. Beach towels are not included - here we paid 2 euros for 2 pieces once. Nothing takes place in the hotel in the evening. End of AI drinks is 11 pm - cocktails are not AI. We felt very comfortable and would come back here on holiday.

We rested from August 20-28. Very friendly staff, Russian is not well known, but speaks Turkish, German and English. The food is not very varied, but very delicious and high quality. The contingent is mostly family or couples, for fun youth parties will not be suitable. In the evening the pool goes for those services, so at night and after dinner in the pool will not be possible.
The beach is 8 minutes' walk. Separately, it is worth noting your cuisine on the beach, which serves very delicious lunches (every day, a specific dish). The beach is clean, few people, partly because a lot of cobbles are underwater. You can walk a little further down the beach, it'll be better, but there are more people. In walking distance the ancient city of Side (we reached in 40 min walking step).
Not a lot of it at leisure. Ice cream is served on Thursdays. Mondays are Turkish nights where meat is cooked on fire, national tortillas. Holding a performance with national dances.
Rooms are simple but clean. There's air conditioning, it's a little noisy, it didn't bother us. Lived on the ground floor because of the poor insulation you could hear music from the pool speakers. It didn't interfere much, but if there are small children, it's better to ask for higher numbers.

I stayed here last week. I agree that it is catered for Germans but I have to say they were totally welcoming to an english lady on holiday solo. The guests made me very welcome and even though there was the language barrier this didn;t matter one iota. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

I agree with all the reviews on here, its all right if you are a German, no one spoke english except Mr Bean and he wasent all that good, also ALL, THATS ALL of the area is geared up for the Germans, all the shop signs etc, also no turks wanted their own currency?? only Euros or Dollars the bumf says the hotel beach is 300 metres away not quite its further than that, cant fault the food or the staff, their all inclusive concept is not the same as all other hotels ie very few drinks are included.Thats it folks would I go back No would I go to the Side area NO.One last thing dont use the turkish bath/massage in the hotel. the 2 hour one is 50 euros, up the road 500metres its 18euros ??? your choice.A

THE GOOD: very clean rooms and an adequate size, good service, attentive and friendly staff, nice pool and pool area, nice restaurant, nice beach, good watersports activities, beachside snack bar, we also loved their Turkish bread.

THE OKAY: food - not much vegetarian choice, but always managed to find something to eat, walk to the beach was approx 5-10mins okay for us young people maybe a bit far in the weather for older people

THE BAD: Too many Germans, who are very rude and stare a lot! Many of the other guests (predominately Germans) were very unfriendly and this is a disadvantage of this otherwise lovely hotel. I do however, get the feeling that many of the other hotels in the Side would be the same so don't let it put you off La Vitas. There are not enough umbrellas on the beach for all of the hotel guests, sunbeds are too close together at the beach.
Girls be careful of Abdul (waiter in the hotel restaurant) he is pervy.

OVERALL: Although there were way too many unfriendly Germans! I would consider staying here again as the hotel was nice and clean and the staff were friendly,

Yes as some others have commented the hotel is aimed more at the German tourist rather than the British. However we didn't find this a problem despite being the only English people staying at the hotel. The German people we met at the hotel were fantastic, and made us feel welcome when we met in the bar at night, often translating thier conversations into English so that we didnt feel excluded, in fact i can not speak highly enough of the German people we met, and it certainly changed my steroetypical view of them. The staff were extremely welcoming and always tried to help, the language barrier could sometimes take some overcoming, but their English was certainly better than my Turkish or German, thank god for Google Translate app on my iphone, it came in very useful. The rooms were very clean and the towels changed every day. The food was excellent, varied and tasty if sometimes a little on the cool side. The hotel is a 5 min 1 euro ride on the dolmus to Side, which has a very nice harbour and several good restaurants. The whole resort is very much aimed at the German tourist as they make up the majority of travellers to this area. If you want a full English breakfast and chips with everything then this isn't the hotel for you, however if you like to meet and engage with different people and cultures you will enjoy your stay.
