Gazipasa Star Hotel garners praise for its value and convenient location near beaches and the old town, with guests appreciating the free shuttle service. The hotel's vibrant atmosphere, including Turkish nights and karaoke, alongside a relaxed pool area, contributes to its charm. While many visitors compliment the clean facilities and friendly staff, some express concerns over inconsistent housekeeping and extra charges for air conditioning and Wi-Fi. The hotel's amenities, such as the clean pool and food services, are popular, though additional fees can be a drawback for some guests.

........do enough for you. The hotel is located quite a distance from the beach front, about 20 minutes’ walk. There is a shopping centre within a few metres of the hotel but most outlets are closed, however, there is a supermarket which is great to replenish your fridge. A Dolmus is within a short walk and we did use this regularly to travel to Side centre during the evening. When we checked in during the early hours the night staff had very limited English but we managed perfectly to check-in without issue. A kind staff member escorted us to the apartment, taking care of our luggage. We had rented a one bedroomed apartment which was nice and spacious. It had two balconies, one accessed from the living room and the other from the bedroom. There was a large shower room with a fantastic shower and a good sized bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space and a safe (fee paid separately). The building housing the apartment was separate to the rooms overlooking the swimming pool and didn’t have a view of the pool from any of the windows. The TV was dated and didn’t have any English channels, although we don’t use the TV when on holiday so it didn’t bother us. The kitchenette was very useful and the fridge ideal for chilling drinks and food for poolside. The air-conditioning was a separate cost but not expensive. The lounge had two large settee’s that converted into beds and a table with dining chairs. Within a few hundred metres of the hotel is the main Side Mosque and adjacent to this, on a large car park area, there is a local market held once weekly on a Saturday. The market is a good size and offers many goods which attracts many visitors, best to get there early before the crowds and daytime temperatures rise. The main swimming pool is of a good size and the depth allows adults to stand even in the deeper end. The bridge across the pool offers a good photo opportunity. The two water slides allow guests to enter the fun pool. These operate most of the day and provide additional enjoyment for the guests. The pool bar has a good menu and has seating underneath a shaded area for those wanting to escape the heat. The staff are excellent hosts and couldn’t do enough for you. They all work long hours and are committed to ensure guests enjoy their holiday. You can change English money at Reception, however, the exchange rate is slightly more enhanced in Side. There is a very small shop on site selling some essentials. We would definitely revisit but would prefer the location to be nearer the beach if we’re honest. Couldn’t fault the staff, they’re amazing. BBQ and Turkish night was good and allowed time afterwards for us to still travel into Side.

My GP said I needed sun and to get away and enjoy myself without too much stress
The sun's almost guaranteed but finding That right level of enjoyment isn't that easy I suffer from chronic fatigue you see🤔

The Gazipasa managed it though with its Bbq nights and Turkish night's and its sometimes lively sometimes relaxed pool scene... The food was good as well and I made a good friend of the chef when I asked one morning for my Turkish favourite, menemen, which cost next to nothing.

WE had an apartment with 2 all balconies and we'll fitted kitchen A/C was good and although basic the water was hot, the beds were comfy and the cleaners did their job, always with a hello and a friendly smile

The hotel is right next to the Saturday Market and within 50m of the main Rd where you can flag down a Dolmus to the town centre or to near by Mangavet

A BIG THUMBS UP to this friendly family run hotel for maintaining the personal touch

Stayed here in September for 2 weeks, the hotel is basic yes but it has everything you need and for what we paid we could not complain and we had breakfast included as well which we couldn't fault, plenty of choice, the Chef will even make you fresh omelettes or fried eggs. Its a family run hotel and Mehmet who runs the bar is by far the star of the hotel. He is great, made our stay so much better! Do get up early to get a sunbed as they do go fast! The slides are great fun. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach which is quieter there, or there is one in walking distance but you are like sardines there so we used the shuttle bus. Its about a half hour walk down to the centre/marina/Greek monuments, it is more expensive in the centre, A LOT OF SHOPS. There is a mosque close to the hotel but you do get used to its call and after a few days I forgot about it. We did the Jeep Safari and it was so much run, I do recommend that and it picks you up from outside the hotel. The Turkish night / BBQ at the hotel is great fun and worth paying for the lovely food. If you do eat out try these local restaurants which we loved Meshur 49 (Left out the hotel and then left again) & Olgun Balikcilik (go past Whykeke(English Primark) / Burger King across the roundabout - its got fresh fish outside and its beautiful). Overall enjoyed our stay and would return but this time have a room with a kitchinette. Only thing I didn't like is that you had to pay for the fridge in the room.

A lovely, family run hotel. Friendly and welcoming staff who are always happy to help. They took time to interact with our children (8,7,5 years ). The pool was always well maintained and the water slides were fantastic for the kids (and me!) The family have cultivated a range of fruit trees within through hotel , around the pool and eating the freshly picked oranges was a real highlight. The hotel is 15-20 mins walk to the harbour which has amazing structures and a museum with Roman artefacts . The restaurants and shops near the hotel use Turkish Lira for currency, whereas the Old Town Side/ harbour uses euros which ends up more expensive. So we tended to stay local .
The hotel has a fridge / freezer, a single hob and a kettle. We ate at the hotel for dinner twice and it was very nice , all freshly cooked to order.
There is a mosque very near to the hotel which woke me up most nights during the call to prayer, but I think you get more used to it as time goes on. Ear plugs may be useful!
There is also a free shuttle bus that takes you to and from the beach, from outside the hotel.
Overall I would say that if you want 5 star luxury then this is not for you . My only ‘wish‘ for next time would be a bit more of a variety of fruit available at breakfast. However the facilities in the room are more than adequate, and the pool and bar area are kept spotless by the staff who clearly take a great deal of pride in the hotel .
We were a family of 5 (3 young children) and would definitely book again due to the fantastic value , really friendly and welcoming staff, great facilities and good location .

This was one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed at. When you book you think it is going to be a cheap getaway but it turned out to not be that way. We went with Tui, half-board.
Or arrival at the hotel we were told that it would be extra money for air conditioning, a fridge, kettle, safe and wifi in room. Only an hour in and we had to pay £140.00. The receptionist was sullen and rude.
Once in the room on first glance it looked shabby and unclean. The shelf below the mirror in the bathroom had marks from previous occupants and only needed bleach and a cloth to wipe it down. After taking a shower, I walked across the room to change, noticed that the under side of my feet were black. Had to go and wash them again and put socks on straight away. The fridge was dirty and yellow yuk!
Even though we were half board, we only ended up eating the breakfast, which was very basic, uncooked scrambled eggs, croissant, cereal and fruit. We tried the evening meal a couple of times, but it was awful. The food wasn't cooked properly and there was no selection to choose from. We ended up going out for our evening meals.
The bar was outside by the pool and all of the rooms looked down onto it. At times it sounded and felt as if you were staying in a really bad council estate (lived on council estate). People were shouted/talking down from the 5th floor were they were staying to people by the bar at 3am in the morning. The music was loud and people were very drunk. I know people are on holiday, it may have helped if the bar was inside the hotel then some may have got sleep.
We didn't see one member of staff smile or say hello. We didn't complain either, so it wasn't out attitude.
With the extra money we had to pay out, it would have been cheaper going to all inclusive. Side itself is beautiful. If you want to walk to hotel beach, its takes about 2 hours walking along the promenade. Wonderful walk.

Myself and family, (partner and 4 children, 10,7,3 and 10 months) Just got back from what should have been a 9 day stay that turned into a 14 day stay at the Gazi Pasa hotel because we just didn’t want to go home!

We stayed in an apartment room that slept six that was plenty big enough for us during our stay. We had a kitchenette, air con in both rooms, two balconies overlooking the road out across to the mosque. We liked the view away from the pool.

We arrived at 5am and were shown to our room by the security man who was always happy whatever the time!

In the morning and every morning noon and night we were greeted by the nicest staff you could ever get. Mucahit, Mehmet and Kemal. Everyday they went over and above for guests and nothing was too much trouble. We are really missing you guys!

The other guys by the pool were also so lovely and helpful (Botou?) the housekeeping were lovely, the chef was amazing cooking my fussy children whatever they wanted at whatever hour!

Seyda was so kind in offering us an alternative room on the ground floor also if we needed it , having a pushchair to get up and down in the lifts. She also kindly accommodated our extra days stay no problem. She is a super mum running an amazing hotel with two gorgeous little children too look after also!

Everything was in a good location for us. Days trips, the beach, shopping at the market right outside the hotel on Saturdays, the mall, hiring dune buggy’s/quad bikes, Turkish bath, amazing restaurants, and the Antik town! What an absolute gem that was and a must visit for the camel rides, shops, harbour and restaurants.

We have had the best time and met the best people. My children miss the staff terribly already and all the wonderful guests we met. Some new, some returning for 15 years! And we can see why.

Emila is sad I had to take her home I think Mucahit! Not sure who she misses more, you or the cats!

We’ll see you guys again soon hopefully! Thank you so much for giving us the best holiday!

P.s yes it’s near to a mosque, but it makes a great wake up call to pop your towels out 🤪

What can I say about gazipasa! Just a fantastic stay! I couldn’t recommend enough! Perfect location for us, few restaurants and bars in different directions. 15/20 min walk to the beach! Friendly staff- especially Kemal! Lady at the desk with small children (didn’t catch her name) was also so lovely. She even helped us when our flight was delayed home and called Antalya airport for us to make sure we were sorted for our flight home. The Turkish night was great! Food was gorgeous! Service was brilliant, couldn’t do enough for you around the pool. Perfect for my 3 & 5 year old. Small kids pool, slides, bigger pool which wasn’t too deep so I could relax a little with kids walking around. We were in the 1 bed on the first floor- massive, 4 sleeping areas (2 single beds/ 1 double and a couch bed) also a couch for sitting. Kettle, fridge- everythin you would need. Pillows wernt my favourite but can’t have everythin! Shower was good size and good power. The cleaners come in everyday which was great because coming back to clean beds and towels etc just made it extra easy for me as a mother with children as it was less for me to do. I just loved every minute of my stay here and we will definitely be returning.

I have never left a review before but felt this time it would be useful to leave an honest review Unfortunately for me this hotel isn’nt great. Best points would be the pool area friendliness of the staff and Food in the hotel was ok, plenty of choice on the menu. Bad points- on the last day the pool was very cloudy, and the slide pool had a brown colour to the water, I watch them clean around the pool and brush into the pool water, I only seen this dome on oir last day. Charged to play pool when every bar in the area that had a pool table let you play for free.
There was 3 people staying in a room we only ever got left either 1 or 2 towels. Maid came in every day but unfortunalty only made the bed and mopped out with what I think was a dry grey mop, I never seen a mop bucket or even a cloth in her hand, sheets where not changed and the bathroom didn’t get a single wipe over, I bought bleach to put down the toilet and down the sink. And lastly the aircon was not as good as other hotels I have stayed in and was dripping water on my face while trying to sleep. My children absolutely loved it here, and loved the staff who where fab with the kids. I know you get what you pay for but for me this hotel lets its self down with outdated rooms and poor cleanliness and maintenance. Saying all the above I still enjoyed the holiday and for what we paid compared to prices of other holidays I suppose it is only somewhere to sleep we spent very little time in the room, so i guess ir comes down to a personal choice of what is importantly to you on a holiday.

I would like to add, the slides are fab for the kids, there was about 20 kids playing which became noisy at time's, but they where having so much fun it was great to watch. There was a Scottish family sitting right by the top of the slides watching the kids all day, arms folded stud up staring instead of moving to the other side of the area they chose to sit as close as they could to the kids area (and let me add they had plenty of room to move) they decided to take photographs of the kids and try and get the slides turned off!! Continued to come down stairs and cause arguements with parents. They where like Scottish warriors. I’m sorry but if you don’t want to hear kids, number 1 don’t sit by the slides, number 2, as I pointed out, there is name for people who watch kids and take photos of them and number 3 get a life, this is a family resort, if you don’t like the noise of kids go to an adult only hotel. Wanting to fight and argue is pathetic when what this really boiled down to was the fact you had been called out for your poor behaviour, they could be locked up in our country for what they have done. I have only added this to the bottom of my review in the hope the family reads this and thinks twice when visiting any holiday resort again - very poor behaviour from adults that where between the age of 65 and 70. Staff difused the situation and where great in doing this, very calm and polite so another plus point for the staff.

Been going to this Hotel now for about 8 years now usually twice a year
Reception is managed by Seyda who speaks excellent English and also very friendly and helpful also in this area there is a well stocked shop la⁶ courtesy bus takes you and picks you up which is helpful.
On a saturday just outside the Hotel there is a huge Market also shops and supermarkets bars and restaurants.
A walk down to visit the old ruins which will take about 25 mins is well worth it very Historical.
Overall the Gazipasa star is a very enjoyable relaxing place to stay you go as strangers but definitely leave as friends

We enjoyed a great 10 day holiday at Gazipasi in June. This is a lovely, spotlessly clean hotel and the staff take pride in all that they do. We had a room on the fourth floor with a balcony overlooking the pool.

There was a good size pool and also a couple of water slides which were fun. Unfortunately there was the usual problem with people putting towels on the sun beds in the middle of the night and then not appearing until lunch time or later to sit on them!

We opted for bed and breakfast. Breakfast was quite basic but you could pay for a more substantial breakfast if you so desired.

The bar staff were all very friendly but not intrusive. The food menu was quite good and you could order at any time. We did eat a few times in the hotel and a special mention must go to Omar the chef. He cooked some really delicious dishes.

It was a good 20 minute walk to the beach and the main shops although the hotel did lay on a minibus to the beach during the day.

All in all, a great holiday and we will definitely be returning.
