The hotel is an hours transfer from the airport.
Check in was a quick with a friendly member of staff.
We asked for a room with a sea/pool view. We got this but the view was partially blocked by a random tree and we were on a low floor. However, we were not in the room much so this wasnt a problem.
The room was very ‘tired’ and the bathroom needs renovating, dated and had mould in the shower. The beds were extremely comfy and we all had a good nights sleep.
When we arrived my daughters sofa bed was not set up so we had to wait for this to be done, which wasnt ideal as we arrived late at night.
The cleaning of the room each day was efficiently done but wasnt great at all. It seems they make your beds, refresh towels and empty the bins and thats it. No sweeping or mopping or wiping of surfaces. (The hotel grounds were immaculate and very clean so im not sure why the same standard wasnt applied to the rooms)
We wondered if the room condition and cleaning was due to us staying at the end of season!
I did over hear that the hotel is being renovated in the off season.
The hotel grounds are stunning and are what made us love this hotel, the views of the sea/sunsets etc from all outside areas are some of the best we have seen. The pool is great and also the water slides.
Food at the snack/pool areas is good.
Buffet breakfast - croissants etc were over baked and hard some things burnt but you could find something to eat though
Dinner - very repetitive, had choices but seemed the same each night.
A la carte - we had booked the Turkish option, which was cancelled on the day we booked and re arranged for another night, the food was average but the view was over the beach and very pretty.
The hotel is 10 mins in a taxi to side which we visited a few times and had a few meals there.
Evening entertainment was really good, although only started at 9.30pm which felt late.
The moulin rouge night on the surface was going to be fabulous with all the props and lights, we expected moulin rouge type dancers (as was shown on the poster) but it turned out to be a dj and more like a rave! We stayed for 15 mins and left along with a-lot of others.
There is a supermarket about 15 mins walk away and a-lot cheaper than the hotel shop (and cheaper than the first supermarket you come to on that walk)
We ended up buying shampoo etc from there as the ones provided in the bathroom were of a poor standard (ive never had to do this in a five star hotel before)
Although there are negatives we let them go and we would return, it is a lovely setting for a last bit of sun before winter. And knowing what to expect with room standards and food is ok.
Id say the grounds/pool areas/ most of the entertainment are 5 star but the rooms and food in the main dining area are 3 star.
I look forward to seeing the renovation of the rooms.
1. Excellent customer service and ALL the staff were very friendly, helpful and most spoke good English. Oscar from Guest Relations was great and really does care about the guests' experience. Our recommendations regarding new tennis balls and table tennis bats were acted upon immediately. Jacqueline from reception was very helpful regarding the AC in our room and a technician was sent to fix it within the hour. A shout out here also to Mehmet in the main restaurant who was so friendly and welcoming - it makes a difference.
2. The cleanliness of the room and the hotel in general.
3. The superb variety of restaurants. We tried the Turkish a la carte as an included extra and the food was delicious. Our 9 year old son loved the food at the Aqua Bar!
4. The lovely sandy beach and jetty with pier where you could go into the sea from the steps. The beach on the right side of the pier is great and is virtually rock free when you walk into the sea.
5. Lots of little extra features that we loved like the Passion Bar for milkshakes and smoothies and the Coffee Shop where the coffee was very good indeed.
6. The waterslides!
7. The amphitheatre area is very well-designed where you can actually sit at a table and enjoy the shows.
8. Lack of noise at night. We had a standard garden view room with balcony and it's the quietest room we've ever had in Turkey.
All in all, a great holiday and a big thank you to all the staff. We will be back next year!
There were a few niggles that could improve very easily which I will mention.
Pros;
- The beds were very comfy for us personally , and the kids loved there beds too! The housekeepers were very hard workers making sure our room was cleaned and fridge was stocked every day, and it was always Pristene!
- the food was delicious , there was plenty of choice, we are used to buffet style foods from UK holidays , so to us it was like being home from home but plenty more choice
- the staff treated us so respectfully the moment we got to the hotel, to the moment we left! We absolutely loved each and every one we met, but a special shout out to mehmet at the aqua bar! My kids adored him and miss him so much already!
- the pavilion , amazing! We had such a good day and it is well worth the money , we had drinks and food coming all day till we left, it is perfect with sun beds just outside the pavilion for you and very close to the sea too to enjoy the water too.
- the first day we got there we booked the Mexican restaurant , and they also offered us Turkish restaurant free of charge which was a bonus! Both were fantastic and very very filling so make sure you don’t each much before you go haha!
- I have to mention this, but the last night we had , we had the Caribbean dance group, and oh my god, they were absolutely amazing , they just went all out , so much vibrancy and effort put into there show and it was the best entertainment we seen since we got here, even got the crowd up dancing after they done there show too! Just perfect way to end the holiday
- all languages are spoken there , I have seen some say there is no English, but there is , they speak at least 3 different languages to announce who’s coming on stage and stuff and English is definitely in there and there are plenty of people and staff that speak English
Cons ;
- the entertainment, especially the kids part, is tedious. I think maybe switch it up to different songs for the kids and do stuff like the magic show and other stuff for them different days, not just the same show over and over every night.
- the food for kids just wasn’t good enough, we all know how fussy kids are, and on fish night , all that was available for my kids was chips and plain spaghetti. We need more choice for the kids , the kids part of the restaurant just wasn’t good enough with boiled chicken , some vegetables and chips, we need stuff like chicken nuggets, pizza , waffles anhthing kid friendly that would go a long way!
- the hassling off staff when you told them no a few times, the spa staff kept coming up to us by the pool when we were chilling asking if we want to use the spa and we told him no about 4 times , the same as the photographer, we told him no about family photos a few times and he still kept coming up to us to ask , and wouldn’t let us get a word in edgeways, it got to the point we were trying to hide from him , one time should be enough when told no , so I think they need to reel themselves in a bit.
Overall apart from those little niggles it was a perfect first holiday for us. The staff were so attentive and welcoming and for sure we will be back.
The Pros - the staff were amazing some of the nicest staff we have come across on holiday, especially Basak, Bakir and Meemet waiters, Salih at the bar. Farit and his brother who run he lobby bar 2. The cleaner Sacide was amazing always had a smile on her face and nothing was too much trouble for her. Also the man in the clothes shop down stairs was very good and helpful. The pool was absolutely beautiful and very clean. The day time snack bar on the beach and the one near the slide pools are very good. We went on a trip to the Green Canyan which was very good however if you have mobility issues dont go as very steep steps and uneven ground which they dont tell you about. We also had the cabana on the beach the cost was 70E but well worth the money we actually did it twice in our fortnight. The sea is very warm and the pier was lovely also you got a good view of the sunset.
Cons - It was very hot whilst watching the shows we only watched 2 shows due to it having no fans at all in the evening. Having a few fans around the stage area would have made such a difference to the hotel. During the day time the toilets are quite far away from the pool and you have to use steps to get to any. You have to get up at 7am to get a bed, however the management said you cant reserve beds before 8am however I did see people reserving beds from 1am ridiculous. People would reserve beds and then not use them until 4pm. Buffett restaurant food was average and repetitive, however you got one special booking per 2 week stay (which is not enough). The beds around the pool are very close together with fixed umbrellas which you couldnt move.
We did go into Side twice in the evening which is 10E taxi well worth the trip, we ate in Twins on the harbour front which was lovely.
Overall we had a nice family holiday but if this was our first time to Turkey we wouldnt holiday in Turkey again.
The rooms are meant to be cleaned every day, in the two weeks we were there the mirrors and balcony glass were not cleaned, the sides were not cleaned and under the bed wasn't cleaned. Really poor for saying this is meant to be a 5 star hotel. Really isn't a 5 star hotel. We upgraded the room to have a whirlpool on the balcony, this was all rotten and leaked which then produced dirty water all over the balcony, pictures provided. The food choice at the hotel is appalling, the kids selection in the kids restaurant is god awful, boiled chicken, chips and a tiny amount of vegetables, the main restaurant choice is very repetitive and most certainly is not 5 star, everything is oily. The staff work very hard but favour the German guests or those that leave tips. Hotel really isn't a 5 star standard, wouldn't waste your money, book somewhere else
I initially do not look for flaws, as some do, but simply enjoy my vacation. You can always find fault with the fact that the grains of sand on the beach are not the same size))) This is usually done by people who like to look for the negative in everything.
I also did not notice any discrimination, which was written about earlier.
Separately about the transfer: firstly, in an hour you are already at the hotel, and secondly, most importantly, the stop near the shops will be AFTER this hotel. That is, we avoided this curse solely due to the location of the hotel. Guys, thank you from the bottom of my heart 😁
This hotel has one very important plus for me: you can take food to your room. My son absolutely does not like to have breakfast in public. And that's usually a problem. Here on the floors there are large containers for collecting dishes. They ate, took it out and no one asked anyone anything.
On the -1st floor there is just a super store where you can buy everything you didn’t have time for or forgot, as well as souvenirs for friends and clothes. Prices are reasonable and reasonable, very nice sellers.
Another plus for me was the initial issuance of two room keys. It's super convenient and you don't have to run after each other.
I would also like to mention the air conditioning. It is built into the wall (and not a separate device) so that only the ventilation grille is visible, with the control panel again on the wall. It works silently, doesn't blow anyone's breath, very comfortable. Cools even in extreme heat in a couple of minutes.
I definitely recommend the hotel. I think I will come back here more than once.
Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
I would especially like to note the cozy rooms with fresh decoration and spacious comfortable beds. Every day the rooms were cleaned, towels were changed, and the minibar was replenished. The air conditioner was quite noisy, so we opened the window - fortunately it was already quite cool at night.
We spent most of our time on the sea beach - it is sandy, clean, with a sufficient number of sun loungers. The path to it lies through well-groomed lawns and takes no more than a couple of minutes. We really liked the sea pier - you can see fish from it and you can jump into the sea, which the children really liked.
The holiday was perfectly complemented by the spa services offered to us by the manager Marlene. For all members of our group who were interested in SPA, Marlen selected an individual program in accordance with their wishes and budget. Everyone was happy!
The hotel grounds are beautiful and with a large main pool, kids pool, indoor pool, splash park, water slides and private beach there is plenty to do. Sun-beds cannot be reserved until 8am and we usually went down to pool between 08:30-09:00 and there was always plenty still available, later than this you would struggle in peak season. However there are loads of loungers on the beach and grass area between pool and beach.
We treated ourselves to a private beach pavilion with waiter service on one of the days which you can rent from guest services. This was one of the highlights of the holiday.
The kids club, activities and entertainment were also very good, there was always something going on to keep children of all ages entertained. Pool activities also take place each day, including Water Polo and exercises.
The food was great, the main restaurant had your standard all inclusive buffet, with fresh cooked meats, salad, desserts and fruit. Each evening there was also a different themed night. The hotel has 5 a la carte restaurants, these can be booked one per stay at guest relations. We went to the Mexican and the Asian. Both were excellent, the Mexican especially was absolutely fantastic. There is also a beach and pool bar which are great for lunch the food here was great so we regularly used these for lunch.
There is also a passion bar which serves milkshakes and frozen drinks, this was perfect and not something I’ve experienced at any previous all inclusive. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, polite and efficient. Most spoke very good English and didn’t have any issues. The general manager especially was frequently around and making sure everything was okay and that you didn’t have any issues.
On one of the days we took a 10min taxi ride into Side (the closest town) it was really lovely mix of culture and shops selling ‘genuine fakes’. There is a nice harbour with restaurants and cafes, a great place to spend a few hours.
Overall I cannot recommend this resort enough, for a relaxing week in beautiful surroundings and fantastic weather. We will definitely be returning in the future.
