Hotel's Favourite
We research hotels carefully and we were very pleased to find that this hotel exceeded our expectations. We arrived gone 11 at night and after we checked in, the reception staff pointed out the buffet in case we were hungry and we were. There were fresh salads, burgers and French fries, and fruit, which was lovely.
The room we booked was a suite, with a separate living room/kitchen area, a decent-sized bathroom and small storage area in the main part of the hotel (there are 2 separate large blocks) with a balcony overlooking the pool and with a sea view. The air conditioning was very quiet and efficient as it was still 27C at night. The beds (2 single pushed together each with own duvet) were comfortable.
The pool area is kept very clean and it and the majority of the hotel is non-smoking. Smokers can indulge outside the front of the hotel or down the side in the outside bar in a separate area, which was very welcome.
We chose to go All Inclusive, but there is a decent Mini supermarket in the basement open till 11pm and fairly well stocked if you are catering for yourselves. (Our kitchen had a hob, microwave, good-sized fridge, kettle and toaster). The food in the hotel is excellent, with a lot of choice, including vegan. The restaurant even has lower food counters so children can serve themselves. They have themed evenings, including Mexican, Italian and of course, Turkish. Desserts are wickedly indulgent, but you can get fresh fruit at all meals.
As we were All Inclusive, this included a meal at Mehmet's Kitchen, which is in the other block from reception. They serve a standard range of food with all-inclusive drinks, but if you choose bottled wine, that is chargeable.
The free WiFi in the hotel is fairly reliable, but I would advise you to use a VPN as it isn't secure.
Although the hotel is over a busy road from the beach, they run a regular free bus over every half an hour. At the beach, there is a decent hotel café where you have the same all-inclusive arrangement and also WiFi. There is a decent menu for lunch. The pizzas and pide are fantastic and generous. We would recommend the Shepherd's Salad over the chicken one as the latter was a little dull. The sea in September was very warm. The sand isn't fine, but you don't need beach shoes, unless you use them because the sand gets very hot in the afternoon.
As this a cashless hotel, they give you a charge card when you check in. You use this in the supermarket or to buy branded alcohol and ice creams like Magnums. There are gift shops, a decent gym and a hairdresser down in the basement. There is also a doctor there for an hour each morning on Level 0.
There are taxis outside the hotel that cost 8€ to get into town...and bizarrely 10€ back. Avoid the cafe in town by the taxi rank.
The hotel was only apparently open to the British travel market 2 years ago and there is a good mixture of nationalities, mostly Northern European and some Russian. This is primarily a family hotel with some evening entertainment plus a kids club, but if you want wilder nights, find another bar.
The staff are excellent and very cheery, even at this end of the season. That speaks volumes.
We plan to come back.

Our first experience of a Sunwing was an absolute delight. This is a spacious resort with lots of greenery and excellent facilities, especially for families with young children. The location is ideal, close enough to walk to the beach or grab one of the courtesy shuttles from outside reception. Side square is a 15 minute stroll up the road or a €5 cab. The pools are clean and abundant, located on both sides of the resort for ease of access, the slides are one side, the other is a little more relaxing with a sports bar and the excellent ‘mehmets kitchen’ [not to be missed] 🍽
The main restaurant cannot be given enough credit, every item is clearly labelled with potential allergens, which for us was hugely important. The staff are always eager to help and knowledgeable, and if they don’t immediately speak your language, will quickly find someone who can. The place is kept immaculate but most importantly the food was incredible with a huge variety, even our fussy eaters were well catered for. The evening entertainment was brilliant, for obvious reasons, this is a popular place with scandinavians so the ‘abba’ tribute had to be & was exceptional. 🇸🇪
It would be difficult to include all the aspects of our stay, it’s a ridiculously well maintained facility with everything you would need as a family. Staff are attentive and helpful, a big shout out to Celim at the Spa, Serkan at the beautiful souvenir store, (don’t fall for the bazaar hype, this on site facility is a hidden gem) and Tevfik, who kindly greeted us at our check in at an ungodly hour. 🧿
Side is an incredibly beautiful town and this a great base to explore from, taxi ranks are right outside the facility and fixed prices make it a seamless process.

We stopped here on a self catering basis, the room was spacious with everything you could want.
It was spotlessly clean and we couldn't fin fault.
There is a mini hob, kettle, microwave and good sized fridge. The main room and bedroom had there own air con, which was handy.
The balcony was a good size and the rooms could easily accommodate 4 people with the use of sofa beds.
Our room looked onto the main road which was busy at times but the noise can be closed with the door.
The on site supermarket wasn't the greatest but had the essentials but there is other markets close by,
There are other concessions on site which t shirts etc, but don't get ripped off.
We ate at Mehmets Grill for most of the stay, the food is good with plenty of choice and ask the staff for their recommendations, the prices are comparable with the restaurants in town similar with the drink prices, but be aware spirits are expensive, best sticking with local wine or beer.
The town is around a 40 minute walk along the main road, but I would advise using the route next to the abandoned stadium this is shorter and takes you off the main road and shave 10 mins off the journey.
The section of hotel beach is great and you can catch the shuttle bus which saves walking down a very dusty road.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and the waiters in the town all said it is one of the better hotels.
Side is fantastic, lots of history which has been sympathetically looked after and has everything you would want with plenty of shops for a bargain, good restaurants.
It was our 1st time in Turkey and we would definitely go back.

Myself and 2 friends have just had a 12 day stay at the Sunwing ,this hotel is a lovely complex with excellent facilities and restaurants.
The rooms are fairly spacious with a good size balcony, they are cleaned daily and clean towels towels also each day,the fridge was stocked with complimentary water and soft drinks. There is air conditioning in the rooms which was very efficient as it was 35 degrees most days, safe also in the room.
The standard of hygiene within and outside was of a very high standard, disposable masks and hand gel provided throughout.
Staff are pleasant,polite and respectful.
A big thank you to all staff for making our stay a very pleasant one, we are looking forward to returning for another holiday.

Good facilities, nice hotel
2 put door pools and 1 indoor pool. Large outdoor pools all clean max depth 1.4 m. 2 slides a bit small.
Food was standard 4 star buffet food. Large selection.
Rooms are all apartment style. Room cleaning wasn't great. We found an old shoe under the bed after a few days and the duvet had a old blood stain on it.
Location of the hotel is not far from the beach and there's a shuttle bus every 30mins.
Entertainment every night. Was average.
Shops downstairs in hotel on were a bit over priced. Some arcade down stairs and games machines.
Massage and ham was good but expencive compared to out of the hotel.
No bus stop outside the hotel. Shops are about a mile away.
Transfer was about 1hr20mins from Antalya airport.
Overall the hotel was good I would stay hear again.

Well what can I say I was really pleasantly surprised. For the price we payed I was so skeptical of what we was going to arrive to even though I head read a lot of great things.
We arrived lateish so couldn’t see much at first but first impressions of reception/bar and buffet area it was lovely and modern. Easy check in and informed about the late night snack food we could have. Loved that the wrist bands were ribbon which is so much better than plastic. The kids loved theirs with Lollo and Bernie on (kids entertainment characters)
Got to the room and it was perfect for us. It wasn’t all fancy and modern but it was practical, clean, modern bathroom and comfortable. Loved having the little kitchenette as my 1yr old still likes some warm milk for bed time and meant we could do it ourselves buying some milk from the shop in the hotel.
We was all inclusive and found everything that was included to be great. Icecreams for the kids whenever they wanted, slushies (think we had our whole holiday cost money worth of these with our kids), even the cocktails and wine was lovely.
Buffet salad selection we found to be really good and large selection. Hot food wasn’t massive but we liked that and everything that was on offer was gorgeous and some of the nicest food we have had from buffets.
Kids food we found was ok but with 2 fussy children I think there should have been some basics that was on every night but they didn’t starve and always found something they was happy with.
Always found a sunbed for 5 of us easily with or without shade and always where we liked sitting and didnt have to set an alarm. Be aware staff do go round taking the hotel provided towels off if you do reserve beds but they can’t touch any personal items or towels.
This hotel though I would say is for families with young kids only. The kids entertainment with Lollo and Bernie the entertainment etc there is very little for just adults but for us that was perfect.
We also used the salon here for my husband and 2 children and it was lovely and excellent prices.
We found the hotel shop to be fairly priced however some have obviously said if you go out you can get it cheaper. Its a cashless hotel so you get a charge card so I can imagine it sometimes is easy to get carried away but we made sure every couple of days we took our card to reception and paid it off just to keep on top of it.
We had 1 free visit to Mehmets Kitchen. The food was really good but we sat outside and it was just way too hot we should have moved inside but if its part of your package you should 100% book it for one night of your stay.
Overall this holiday for us was perfect and if we was happy to visit same places again we would go back. There was no complaints and I find it hard to think of any negatives about this hotel.

I stayed here with my mum mid May. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are big, modern and comfortable. The view from our balcony looked over fields and we could see the snow capped mountains in the background. There was honeysuckle in the gardens and outide the hotel, it smelt beautiful.
We were self catering so went into side town every night for food which is a 30 min walk or a 5 min taxi ride.
It was a 10 min walk to the beach which was sandy and the sea was clear.
The drinks at the hotel were average price and can recommend the ice coffee with cream on top.
The hotel staff are very polite, friendly and professional.
I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Here in July 2023 for 7 nights at room 2306 this could easily be a 5 star hotel with a few small changes.
Don’t go all inclusive as it is very confusing as to what you are allowed to have and not to have . We were told on arrival at reception that the bar was open to 1am and asked whilst pointing to band if all inclusive was to 1am and receptionist said yes but the 1st time we tried to order after midnight we were told we would have to pay but to make it even more confusing you can go to midnight snack and help yourself to beer wine and soft drinks as long as you are eating (crazy) . If you want a pint served in a chilled glass and not a plastic or small glass you have to pay extra if all inclusive. If you want a snack between 2pm-4pm you have to take the 2min bus to the beach to be served the same snacks that you have to pay for at the sports bar or on site restaurants. The drinks menu is ok small selection of cocktails but again AI guests are made to feel like 2nd class customers because there is a 5 star selection of cocktails and drinks on the other pay menu.
Buffet restaurant is long queues and full of flies and unfortunately 2 children in the party ended up with upset stomach’s but the food is well cooked and well presented so I can only put it down to the flies and not the standard of food. Go late to avoid the queues but go early to avoid the flies.
The bars are understaffed especially the sports bar in block 2 this must be why the staff at the sports bar look miserable. The staff are hard working and the staff at the beach bar are fantastic.
This is a family hotel so the shows are basic and manly performed by the hard working entertainment staff who do their very best to keep everyone happy.
The place is spotless clean and the rooms are fantastic size .
If you are planning to stay self catering then you are in for a real treat , you will enjoy the 4/5 star pay restaurants and a 5 star bar menu but if you are staying All inclusive or Half board you can expect 3 star. The hotel even offer a pay upgrade to premium all inclusive which would give you the full 5 star treatment. (Wow)
I don’t mean to put too much of a downer on this hotel as the staff , pools and beach bar are fantastic but it is annoying that standard all inclusive customers are treated differently to everyone else and we have been spoiled as we previously stayed at Akra/ Barut Kemer which was fantastic service throughout so expected the same high standards at a Barut family hotel.

Had a nice stay at this hotel in early October. The room was good with a big balcony, fridge with water and soft drinks in it and tea/coffee making facilities. Face masks and hand sanitizer were anywhere you need it, that helps to be safe these times. The hotel has spa and gym. Pool area is great, but music was too loud for relaxing, so we used shattle to the beach, which was very fast. The beach area wasn't crowded and we could always find free sunbeds. Also there is little cafe with cocktails and food.
But what makes this hotel really amazing is staff. Everyone was nice and professional. Special thanks to Ms. Nikita from reception team for being very helpful and making our short stay wonderful and Mr. Sinan from the bar/restaurant for excellent friendly service and great cocktails.
The only thing that could be better was evening program. Sometimes it was a little boring. We went to Old Town a few times by taxi (the stop right next to the hotel), huge ancient city and modern town around it. There are a lot of restaurants with beautiful sunset view.
Looking forward to visit again some day!

Great family resort. Staff are down to earth and polite, food is incredible with a range of simple options for fussy kids. Cleanliness is second to none and housekeeping is very good. The rooms are very nice but if you have children ask for a room in the main building as there are two sides to the hotel and our room, although spacious with sea view was too far so they were very accomodating moving us closer on request. The basement has a great games area and small arcade to entertain kids in the evening (or all day!) for a small charge per game. There is also a minimart (a little expensive) but fairly well stocked and a souvenir shop and hairdresser. I wouldn't recommend either as they are overpriced, one pair of eyebrows ruined and 30 euro for coloured hair extension plaites for girls which barely lasted a day or two. The spa is excellent so do try the turkish bath and hammam. The beach is located across from a extremely busy main road outside the hotel so they have a regular shuttle bus to take you across all day but don't stay there after 6pm or else you will have to walk back! The road is actually the most disappointing aspect of the location as you can hear the noise especially at night. Side town is walkable but there are taxis right outside the hotel. There's plenty of shopping but beware as the lira is not strong so best to take euro as it will be more expensive than you think! I would definitely recommend this resort.
