We arrived at the melas holiday village around 10:30pm, we were asked to wait in the lobby bar and have a drink whilst the bellboy was being called and the paperwork was being sorted out, we were taken to our rooms on a golf buggy, rooms are a little dated but for the use of them they are fine, air con works very well. The restaurant has plenty of food options and the food was very nice, the drinks are ok, usual cocktails made with juices which can get a bit sickly, efes on tap, the only issue I found was the barmen would pour a beer and half of it would be froth, 1 barman was a bit rude at the pool bar on our 1st day when myself and my daughters boyfriend were looking at the drinks menu, he snapped at us saying "YES YES" like he was either busy or in a rush but we were the only 1's at the bar, he seemed better as the holiday went on so maybe he was just having a bad day. The ice cream freezer was brilliant, you help yourself and it's ice lollies and Cornettos (like you'd buy in the shop) the pools are amazing, the entertainment team are brilliant and do a great job. The beach is literally across the promenade and is the best beach we've ever been to in Turkey. Plenty of sunbeds by the pool and the beach. A special mention for our cleaner Selda, she made lovely towel art every day and cleaned the room to a very high standard. The hotel left a cake and a free photo coupon in both my daughter's room and our room as a birthday gift to my daughter and my wife which was a very nice touch. There are plenty of shops outside the hotel where you can get items cheaper than in the hotel, you can walk to side which was about 15 mins away. I would highly recommend Melas holiday village and we will be returning in the future. Thank you Melas for making our family holiday amazing

Just arrived home from a fabulous stay at Melas resort.
It's the first all inclusive holiday we have been on as a family so weren't sure what to expect. But what a pleasant suprise. We were there for one of our sons 1st birthday, they gave hi. A cake, card, balloons and a toy which was a lovely gesture and much appreciated.
The apartment was very nice and very clean. All the staff were amazing, and went out there way to make our stay special. Food was great and loads of options.
The beach was well kept and the walk into Side took about 50 mins along a pleasant promenade.
About an hour from the airport.
Highly recommended.

Could not fault this hotel on very much the hotel itself is clean, well presented and you are very well looked after.
Pros
Golf buggy takes you to your room
We were upgraded to a more spacious room
Rooms cleaned daily
Beach towels provided
Food is lovely and lots of choice (can be repetitive)
Water proof bag for kids gifted
Mini bar in fridge with Fanta, coke, bottled water still and sparkling & beer - changed/refreshed every 2 days
Towels changed upon request
Lovely pools & aqua park
Entertainment staff all lovely but only a few that can speak English
No one really saves sunbeds so always somewhere to lay
Key ring given to children upon check out

Cons
This is a predominately German guest hotel, sadly they are rude (especially at meal times)
Not many staff speak English and assume you are German (which they can speak)
We felt like the odd ones out being English
Maids will take money from your room if you happen to leave any lying around (our oldest daughter lost a tooth so was visited by the tooth fairy) the money was replaced but still something to be aware of.

A note to the hotel - your lifeguard that is positioned by the aqua park was seen kissing a guests wife who was there with her husband and 2 children. Absolutely unacceptable behaviour from a staff member (and her of course). If you’re wondering which one he wears the smallest shorts on offer.

We would come back Turkey but sadly not this hotel due to the lack of English people!

Hi, currently staying here as a party of 8 with a jet 2 booking. We booked 2 garden bungalow rooms however on arrival were told they weren’t using this as hotel wasn’t full?? We were put in the hotel main building with 2 single sofa beds!! Not ideal but the room was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean so just had to accept it as they said we had no other choice?? We are fully aware we are holidaying during a pandemic however we were told we had to eat Dinner between 6.30 and 7.30 on an evening not ideal when we don’t leave the pool until around 6/6.30 when we’re on holiday. The main restaurant in the hotel is diabolical in the quality of the food. No choice whatsoever and don’t cater at all for children or vegetarians although I was offered cucumber and tomatoes? No catering towards British guests at all, bread hard and stale, chips greasy and hard. Really hard to find something palatable to eat! Really feels like a school dining hall. Snack bar around the pool is very much the same with the addition of Pizza and chicken nuggets Of very average quality. Breakfast is even worse with no option to even have a slice of toast!! We did eat at the beach bar where the food is good however today we have been told we are not allowed to do so anymore as this is part of the resort hotel only?? This is where a huge part of the problem is also, apparently each hotel is separate and cannot mingle between each apart from at the aqua park and amphitheater however this clearly isn’t the case and resort guests get priority over village guests! We have tried to speak to the manager and guest relations and received very poor service and basically told we could upgrade to the resort for an extra £800 to then allow us to eat at the beach bar!!! No sign of a jet 2 rep since we arrived, not able to make them understand the problems on the helpline so now eating out for our meals !! A family tried to book Al a carte restaurant the first morning of their one week holiday to be told full for the full week so not able to use facilities and “ that’s how it is” great attitude eh??

So please look elsewhere before you book this hotel if you are English, I have been to Antalya on many many occasions and this is by far the poorest hotel we have actually stayed in for food quality, I would maybe rate it at a generous 3star and that is for the staff not the food!!! Management will “note our feedback “ which means nothing will be done!

I obviously will be complaining to Jet 2 once we get home but please please please look elsewhere before booking here!

We arrived on the day it opened on 10th August. We were staying in the village but found the village pool and pool bar were closed until 6 days later. We were not informed this would be the case and when I spoke to receptionist she just stated that we could use the hotel facilities which is separate to the village apparently. We were not given a map of the resort or told anything at all to introduce us to the village.
The resort it’s self I cannot fault, very pretty and very clean and I felt very safe there in the currant climate of Covid.
The beach is very murky and lots of rocks beneath the water. Further down the coast in side it is clearer waters.
The rooms were cleaned every day and a mini bar was restocked each day.
The thing that lets this hotel down is the food. It’s awful, after a few days we ate out as we could no longer stomach it. The variety was awful, even at breakfast there was no toast. Coffee was awful and the food was basic at best.
the evening entertainment was over in 40 mins. So if you are looking for a evening of fun forget it.
This is not a 5* due to the food. I’d recommend booking a place that has more than one restaurant.
Side it’s self is lovely though, I would go back but I wouldn’t stay here.

Currently on our last day here and let me be as honest as possible with you. Let’s start with the positives the rooms are modern and clean, the waiting staff are fantastic! By the end of our trip they remember our names and drinks orders, the entertainment staff were fab they always had little activities to keep you busy throughout the day and created such a great energy. I never caught his name but the guy who does the water gym needs a pay rise! He was always smiling dancing and making sure the guests were always happy nothing was too much to ask. The pool was lovely and clean big and the evening entertainment was okay.
CONS:My party and I have been key workers and have worked throughout the whole of this pandemic (the reason for this trip a well earned break was needed) on arrival the receptionist mentioned about wearing your mask when walking around the hotel, when near big groups and in the restaurant this was followed by ourselves however this cannot be the same for the rest of the guests in the hotel, no one wore masks and even when they were worn in the restaurant they were either placed on there chins or bought down to say what food they wanted (pointless if you ask me). at no point did staff remind guests to put their masks back on nor were there reminders to put masks back on, which led to feeling unsafe when we were anywhere but our hotel room. We had mentioned this to the receptionist to which she said “we tell them on check in so if we’ve told them then we don’t have to no more” we then wanted to speak to someone higher as to us that wasn’t good enough. the guy higher up then promised people would be reminded to put masks back on but this wasn’t the case. If you looked around the hotel you wouldn’t even think there was a pandemic going on- people not keeping distance, no one hand sanitising. When going to the restaurant you were told to get our temps checked when entering however this wasn’t consistent and more than a couple of times did they just tell us to walk in with NO checks. The food is unfortunately another negative it’s very repetitive, bland and oily, imo We also used the massage facilities and I really wish we didn’t in the end! I walked in there with no pain (just wanted to treat myself) walked out with immense pain my shoulder. I mentioned this to the guy straight away at the time he kindly told me to come back tomorrow if it still hurt. I rang back the next day as the pain in my shoulder meant I couldn’t sleep they got me in at 9:30 that morning for them to do a 2 minute treatment and then tried to give me a mysterious tablet to take but wouldn’t say exactly what is was when asked. Still in a lot of pain things got heated as the guy on reception then began to call us a liar and had an extremely bad attitude (bully like) as soon I told them it still hurt.
All in all lovely hotel and facilities however the lack of control towards their Covid procedures, repetitive and bland food and terrible customer service at the spa brings the stay to a dull experience.

I can’t stress just how amazing our stay was at Melas. We had read some reviews that mentioned lack of English speaking but this couldn’t be further from the truth. It is a predominantly German hotel but every member of staff spoke near perfect English and we felt welcomed and comfortable during the whole time we were there.

The location was brilliant, with a beach (albeit slightly rocky) right next to the hotel. There’s also rows of bars & shops just a 10 min walk down the promenade.
The food was brilliant for an all inclusive, there was different themes each day so it didn’t get repetitive. Staff were always extremely helpful in getting drinks (and very generous in the alcohol drinks, we expected beer would be watered down but it definitely wasn’t).
Everyone is also given one voucher for the authentic restaurant in the hotel which is a 5 course meal, which was very nice.

The entertainment was different every night but got better and better each time,

The only slight downside was that the WiFi was poor and didn’t always work when we were in our room. But aside from that I genuinely can’t find a bad word to say about it.

From arrival till departure, just superb! English family here of only 2 or 3 other English but did not affect our experience. Staff so generous, helpful and hard working! 2 bedroom apartment superb and brilliant air con! Average temp-35 degrees daily! First time in Turkey and would definitely return to this hotel. Bar restocked in room twice per week … arrived at 2am and were shown to restaurant where we were able to eat/drink. The first thing we were told is that we should want for nothing as the hotel will supply! Beach towels supplied also. Sun beds by pool mostly taken but a few steps further and you are on the beach which always had sun beds! Sea is warm. An absolutely brilliant week! Would highly recommend. Oh- and currency around here is mostly euro so no need to bother with Lira- they will convert each price to Lira but mostly all prices are in euro.

We booked this holiday as a last minute get away to see how our daughter was on the plane etc as she is 22 months before our other holiday in a months time

The hotel is gorgeous, the grounds are very well kept, pools are clean and slides are great for kids, perfect location right on the beach

Rooms are basic but clean

This hotel does not cater for English guests, if I knew this we wouldn’t of booked hence why I am writing a review. 95% Dutch, entertainment wasn’t in English, kids club same. The entertainment staff were lovely and the restaurant/bar staff

Reception bar/Reception staff weren’t as friendly

50/50 I would say but none of them really spoke English so was difficult to communicate

The promenade is lovely and around a 40 min walk into the old town, such a nice walk but with kids is hard. We used to taxi there and walk back to get baby to sleep in pram

The old town is beautiful but more classy restaurants and bars. Quite quaint and chilled. I would say more for couples as a romantic get away. Nothing really lively or fun going on quite relaxed

All in all it was a nice holiday, but I wouldn’t return due to the lack of English and it being so quiet

Across from the hotel is a bar called golden fizz. They have the nicest bar staff, friendly and great with kids. They made the holiday much better for us as we felt quite secluded in the hotel

We have just returned from a week at this hotel two couples.
As we arrived early hrs of the morning, we were taken to our rooms by golf buggy to our rooms & shown were the restaurant where there was hot food on. The hotel is a more traditional style not ultra-posh and modern. But it is extremely clean and well maintained. There is so much choice of food to choose from & the quality is excellent. The beach bar has fresh chicken kebabs & Turkish stuffed flat breads, the pool bar freshly made pizzas salads, hot foods ect so much choice we never got to the dining room at lunch time. Branded ice lollies, the drinks were plenty (no coconut rum though) but a really good selection.
My only criticism is the number of smokers although I know this is nothing to do with the hotel. However, I think it would be a good idea to have a designated smoking area.
We were the only four English people stopping at the hotel this time. That however didn't bother us.
I defiantly would recommend stopping at this hotel we had a lovely time.

We used lira for tips at the hotel, didn't need cash on site for anything else. We also used liras around the local shops which seemed to get us better prices - i think the use of euros there (you'll see everything advertised in euros tathertjan liras) is to suit the large numverof German visitors to the area.
