Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

The Calimera Side Resort is lauded for its exceptional service, with guests frequently complimenting the staff's friendliness and dedication. Its prime location near Side Old Town makes attractions easily accessible, adding value despite some services deemed costly. While the hotel's atmosphere is a blend of fun and monotony, with the mini disco being a hit among children, other entertainment options are sometimes criticized.
Rooms are generally celebrated for their cleanliness and modernity, yet they may feel cramped for family use. Amenities receive praise, particularly the food selection and overall cleanliness, though improvements in air conditioning and staffing during meals have been suggested.

Detailed Reviews
Me and my partner had annual leave booked before Coronavirus all kicked off that we couldn’t cancel.
I have never been on a all inclusive holiday before and was a little skeptical but we had a fantastic time at Side Resort Hotel.
I had expected to end up paying for some meals out but the food at the hotel was so good we ate every meal there for the week.
There was so much choice, I don’t eat meat or fish but there was always options for me.
The snack bar was great too serving fresh pita breads with cheese and vegetables, chips and burgers.
The restaurant buffet had various healthy options every day plus the salad bar with all sorts of salads, cheeses, olives and fruits.
The difficulty was only to try and not eat too much!
The staff really make this hotel, they work tirelessly all day and night, nothing is too much trouble for them.
A special mention for huseyin, a genuinely lovely guy with a big heart.
Also Bellant (excuse my spelling) always had time to chat and check you were ok, We didn’t have a bad interaction with any of the staff, all lovely people.
The bar was well stocked with beer, wine, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks all included until 11pm.
There was the main big pool which was lovely but also a smaller quieter pool next to the snack bar which we enjoyed relaxing by.
The water slides were great fun too.
The hotel is about 20 minutes walk down to the harbour and ruins, great for sight seeing.
We stayed in a family room with a separate living room, bedroom and large bathroom.
All very clean and tidy.
As we weren’t leaving until 4.30pm you could use the showers near reception which meant we could make full use of the last day and still have a shower and freshen up before the journey home which was great.
My partner also used the onsite spa twice which she really enjoyed.
The gym is quite reasonable for a hotel too, with dumbbells up to 25kg, Smith machine, a few pieces of cardio equipment and some other weight machines.
Thank you everyone at Side Resort for a fantastic holiday, sorry I can’t list you all individually but you all made it a great week for us.
We hope we can visit again.

We are family of four (4 year old and 7 year old) and had a fantastic 2 weeks at this hotel. The hotel overall has a very high level of cleanliness and follows Covid safe practice eg face masks worn at all times by staff, alcohol gel dispensers, and hand wipes given at mealtimes, screens in front of the buffet and social distancing.
The pools were lovely with plenty of sunbeds and parasols, the kids shallow pool was great for little ones with a shade cover over it, the aqua park was great, brilliant slides. Friendly lifeguards by the pool and at the slides.
The food was excellent, breakfasts were good with a wide range of food available, I particularly enjoyed the freshly cooked omelettes made to order. The lunch buffet was also varied. However We usually had lunch at the snack bar with things like pizza, chips, burgers Spaghetti bolognaise and something grillled, served 2-4 which was great, with excellent friendly table service from Huseyn. Evening buffet meals were always varied with a different theme everynight, food was always fresh and very tasty. There was also a grill outside serving something different everynight. There was also a great variety of fresh fruit at each meal.
The pool bar was good, the kids particularly enjoyed the ice cream served all day. The staff were all very friendly and particularly good with the kids with the animation team running different, games during the day it without pressuring people into joining if they didn’t want to.
The rooms were very comfortable. The gardens throughout the hotel were very well kept and very pretty.
The entertainment was good with a mini disco for kids in the evening and a short show, the African dance troop were the best act.
At the end of the holiday we felt we knew the staff as well as they knew us, drinks ready on arrival at the snack bar, always a friendly hello and despite the masks we could always see their smiles.
Overall we all throuroughly enjoyed the holiday and felt it was great value for money, exceeding expectations. we hope to make a return visit.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
I'm not normally one for writing reviews as I think what one person likes isn't always the same as another but after spending two weeks at this hotel I feel the staff need to be recognised for all the hard work they do and for making our holiday so memorable.
From check in you could feel the friendliness of the hotel. We booked a one bedroomed apartment with a pool view and requested a sunny balcony and this is what we were given. The rooms were spotless, maid service every day and even had a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities which you don't normally receive in an all inc.hotel. 2 x televisions one in the living area and one in The bedroom although we didn't really use these. The air conditioning was fantastic (two separate units so you could have it on in the room but not bedroom and vice versa). Bathroom spotless too with a double shower and plenty of drawers/wardrobe space. The balcony had a table & 4 chairs and a clothes rail.
We travelled during the Covid 19 pandemic and the cleanliness and the precautions taken in the resort and the hotel was amazing without compromising your holiday experience. Hand gel everywhere, cutlery in individual bags, plastic screens, gloves in the buffet restaurant, cooking stations and waiters serving food at the dessert/salad bar. All staff in masks and removing plates etc as soon as you had finished your food. The public toilets were checked every 30 minutes and were spotless with soap, hand gel and paper towels. The sunbeds were wiped and cleaned every day and were social distanced and every 2 beds had a small table and parasol. The floors were disinfected every day for customers safety. It felt so safe but it also shows that the hotel cares and moves with the times depending on the situations and this gave me great confidence in knowing they would do what needed to be done to create a safe and happy holiday for guests.
The hotel had a wellness spa which I didn't use but spoke to people who had and they said it was good. The entertainment was really good and the animation team were fab with the kids and adults. They work long hours and always have a smile on their face. Afternoon game's to kareoke to outside professional shows. All really good. The hotel has a small park for the kids as well as children's pools and a small pool with waterslides. The big main pool was the same depth and great for adults to be able to swim.
The location is great... a few shops and restaurants on the door step. Free bus to the beach but we walked (20 minutes) fantastic food at the beach bar and waterports if you want them. Same distance into the old town with some amazing sea front restaurants and shops.
All in all what an amazing holiday... definatly deserves a higher rating than Jet2 holidays gives it!!! Thank you team Side Resort.

We Booked this holiday last minute and so glad we did
We arrive at around 8.30pm, we had our temperature taken and was greated at reception and after a swift check in we were directed to our room. We had booked a land view room but we had land view room but I had emailed ahead enquiring about a pool view room and we were pleased that we had been upgraded free of charge for a pool view room opposite the pool bar (room 354)
The drinks in the bar were good, not usual brands of spirits but very drinkable and nice cocktails.
Emran and the guys at the bar (sorry I cannot remember their names) were friendly and always smiling, and Serkan in the restaurant by the second week knew what I wanted to drink without even asking,
The lady (sorry cannot remember her name) in the coffee bar was alway friendly and smiling and even brought us coffee without us even asking.
The good was good and a different theme every night, the donor kebabs on Turkish night was particularly good, you could book the al a carte restaurant via the app on a wednesday and Saturday and had a chose of a main and dessert and was a pleasant change, for lunch there was the buffet restaurant or the snack bar that had burgers, chips and Pizzas.
There was 4 water slides and was good fun even for the adults.
The cleaning staff worked round the clock from cleaning all the sunbeds every day to cleaning the pool at 1am. Every evening the pool air would be cleaned with a machine and then again after the bar shut. The room was spotless every day and towels changed every other day.
Ersin in the animation team did the aqua gym and darts in the day and at night they had a different show every night, from bingo, quiz, games night and some dance and music acts. Karaoke some nights.
The all inclusive finised at 11pm but there a couple of local bars open late if you want to have a late drink and Side Old town and harbour is around 20 minutes walk or around 500 lira in a taxi.
I cannot think of any negatives at this hotel and would not hesitate to book again.

We arrived late to the hotel after travelling for 12hrs and was greeted by a lovely man who offered us a fresh sandwich and cold bottle of water. We was quickly checked in and given our room key and all information we needed. We entered our room and wow! It was like a little apartment. There was a small kitchen area with nescafe, tea, sugar and coffee mate. Another area with a L-shaped couch, coffee table, TV, and aircon, which led out onto a small balcony that didn't have a view, (but this never bothered us as it was very quiet at all times of day and night). Bedroom with twin beds that could either be kept together or moved apart, another TV and aircon,(the aircon works perfectly). The bathroom had a double shower which was a massive bonus and the whole place was spotless. There was always a smiling face to greet you wherever you went and every staff member wore masks and work tirelessly. The meals where well organised and there was plenty of choices, even for the fussiest eaters. The entertainment was brilliant, which started with a 15 minute little disco for the kids, then proper dancers that were superb. Every inch of this hotel is spotlessly clean. We visited the ancient ruins and the harbour which is a good 30 minutes stroll or £3 in a taxi. We also visited Manavgat Town centre which has hundreds of shops and was 40p on the bus however far you travelled.I would definitely recommend this hotel without a doubt and will definitely return the next time we are in Side. Thank you for a lovely stay for me and my husband.

Weve been back from our lovely holiday for a couple of days now and we wish we was still there. After rearranging all this years holidays for next year we could see all our friends going to turkey so we decided to book a last minute deal, my husband looked all the reviews for this hotel and couldn't fault it so we decided to just go for it. On arrival at the hotel they took our temperature and recorded it, we went to check in and they had upgraded us to a family suite which was a nice suprise, they offered us sandwiches as it was really late but there was a restaurant just seconds up the road so we went there it was lovely. The hotel was spotless, we couldn't fault it one bit, some one spilt a drink and within seconds there was a cleaner with her trolly cleaning the floor and table, when yoh spilt something on your table during meal time they was wiping it away for you, all the staff were amazing, so friendly especially Huseyin he was so lovely and caring to everyone. I would definitely recommend the al a cart meal it was delicious as all the food was, we didn't have a bad meal while we was there the food was so tasty. The pool and pool area was spotless, the whole experience from start to finish was the amazing. Cant wait to go back next year.

I stayed here for a week at the beginning of September with my daughter. The hotel is fantastic, the rooms were spotless, the beds were comfy and a great sized bathroom.
All the staff were friendly and work very hard to make sure you have a wonderful time.
The pool areas were all clean, the slides were fun and there were always beds available.
The food was good, I am coeliac and all the food was labelled up so I could see which food contained gluten, there was also a notice saying if you had food allergies and wanted something cooked for you this could be done, I had salad most days so didn’t use this service.
Masks were worn by the staff throughout the hotel and there was a hand sanitiser dispenser before you went into the restaurant, on all the tables and also various other locations in the hotel.
We walked into the Old Town a couple of time’s which was a nice walk through the ruins and ate in a couple of lovely restaurants on the sea front.
All in all we both had a really lovely holiday so much so that I am returning to the hotel with my husband in October for a week.

Loved our stay at this hotel. Hotel brilliantly situated for visiting the ruins and amphitheatre. Hotel provides minibus to beach with private section of beach beds for hotel use. Really enjoyed the creative tasty menus provided by Chef Tuna and the fabulous desserts.🥰. The hotel is absolutely spotless in all areas. All staff are friendly and extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The spa is excellent would highly recommend a visit .... best ever massages by Yusef 👌🏻We booked this hotel as a last minute decision and was so pleased with our choice. We usually stay in the larger type hotels but were very impressed with this small hotel as it has everything you need and is perfectly positioned. Just hop on a dolmus 30p into the main shopping area, 10 minute walk to the harbour and sea front. A special thank you to the older gentleman who is the lifeguard at this hotel who volunteers his services and does a fantastic job of keeping everyone safe in and around the pool. Overall a fantastic holiday in the sun.

We have just returned from our 3rd visit to side resort Hotel and have booked to return in August again.
The reasons we keep going back is the standard of cleanliness and the general family feel of this hotel. The staff go over and beyond to make people feel at home. The accommodation is beautiful. Clean, generously sized rooms and comfortable. The bedrooms have two separate bedrooms, partitioned by a sliding door, separate bathroom with a double shower, and small kitchen with fridge, coffee machine and coffee and tea facilties The bathroom has soap, shower wash, towels and hairdryer included., which are cleaned daily, if requested. The rooms have two air conditioning units, which cool the rooms down within minutes!
The food is very nice, there is always something for for everyone. You can tell the hotel work very hard to provide top quality food. Thank you! Want to thank Osman who is always around helping and making sure everyone is happy and content. He works so hard. Thank you for all you do
I have two young children, 11 and 9 and they love this hotel. It is safe, clean and quiet in the evening. There is entertainment every evening, and at about 10 or 10.30 it ends, which means a great nights sleep for everyone.
It is NOT a place to go for a party holiday, so if you are looking for a party, lively resort, this is not the place for you. It is perfect for families wanting a bit of relaxation and peace. It is quiet and tranquil. Highly recommend. Sports during the day to keep people entertained - darts, table tennis, pool games and volleyball. The slides are open 10-12 and 2-4, supervised with a lifeguard. The activity pool was heated to 25 degre3s and was significantly warmer than the main pool, which was a little bit disappointing. It would be nice to have the main pool heated, as it was exceptionally cold and not many people ventured in for long!
There is a kids club, but I feel it is very small and a lot of the activities require additional fees. This is a shame, as i feel the kids club could be so much better. Thankfully, my children are a tad old for the kids club, so we do not need it currently.
It is a short, 15 minute walk into side town, where there are a number of shops and restaurants. There are a number of excursions available, make sure you get them at a reasonable price, as some people have paid a lot for them.
The hotel has a hairdresser, game room and a spa. My husband had the Turkish bath and he said it was fantastic, a good price and handy.
Cannot wait to return again in August! A little gem of Side! A quiet, tranquil relaxing holiday resort. A rare find.

We’ve just returned from a 10 day stay at the Side Resort Hotel.
We are two oldies travelling with a young family of 4. Children aged 16 and 11.
Rooms were basic and tired but spotlessly clean and bed linen changed frequently, clean towels most days.
Air con works well and fridge in room is useful.
Staff are amazing and are always friendly and smiling they try so hard to meet your every wish. Definitely is was service with a smile from almost everyone.
Entertainment was excellent with group games played most days in the pool.
The entertainment team went above and beyond to engage with everyone, particularly Bob, who even came in on his day off to arrange volley ball in the pool on our last day.
There were 3 pools, a baby pool with a small slide plus 2 larger pools.
There were water slides open 4 hours a day, great fun for all.
The pools were warm and the same level all round, most adults were able to walk around inside the pool.
Evening entertainment was a bit hit and miss but some shows , bingo and karaoke. It was better than other places we’ve been in Europe previously.
Food was very good with theme nights ( Turkish night, Mexican , international, Italian) and lots of choice. Although I’m fussy, I usually managed to find something. We never went hungry.
Lots of choice of salads and fresh fruit at every meal.
There was an Italian restaurant free to book if you stayed a week or more. This had a limited menu and you had to order at the time of booking but the food was delicious and the service outstanding.
Drinks were good. Fraught Effes beer and lots of cocktails to choose from.
Slush drinks and ice cream was available.
There is a free bus to the local beach where there are free sun beds and parasols. There is an arrangement to pay for food and drinks to be available on an all inclusive basis, 8 euros per adult and 4 euros for 12 and under.
The drinks were soft drinks or beer. There was limited lunch provided.
There was ice cream but it was extra, 5 euros!
The day we went to the beach it was windy and the sea was rough and too wild but the was just unfortunate. However it’s in our opinion not the best beach and not somewhere you’d spend the day.
The west beach was easily accessible by taxi, and was much better.
Hotel had bars and restaurants nearby and was within walking distance of the old town, Saturday market and local supermarkets.
