Regarding the food I thought it was very good with a variety of grilled and roasted meats and other dishes. The hotel does have a policy of ‘ultra all inclusive’ so if you want non local spirits it’s a 20 eur per person per day surcharge but tbh I was just fine with ice cold efes and perfectly acceptable house wine in the evening.
Regarding the level of service in the resteraunt I would say it’s similar to other decent AI resorts eg if you give a small tip to the waiter the service level jumps from decent to excellent.
A big improvement this year is the gym was made free I would suggest management keep this policy.
There is a scaled down entertainment but thanks to Em for being super friendly and organising a few fun activities for family.
All In all a great stay in stressful times so keep up the good work Ali Bey
The Hotel Cleanliness and how they are dealing with Covid is excellent, on arrival your suitcases were taken to get disinfected then you got your temperature checked on arrival and each day when using the buffet restaurant where you needed wear a face mask when entering the restaurant. Staff when you had finished eating where quick to disinfect area once you left.
The food and drink at the property was delicious, there was a snack where you could get baked potato’s which were delicious, and also a patisserie with delicious cakes. An a la Carte snack bar on the beach also was great if you didn’t fancy buffet restaurant for lunch, the onion rings and chicken fajitas were amazing 🤗
Travelling as a couple it was great to get peace at the the adult pool with waterfall, it was my oasis for the week however on occasion went to the water park to have a go on the huge slides which was great fun.
The entertainment was limited due to covid, however there was a great mix, saw a great band on the Saturday playing lots of modern hits and there was also a Madonna show which I thoroughly enjoyed as it was very professional, great dancing and not the usual tacky show that you would expect.
Our room was very clean and spacious, bed was the most comfortable ever, had the best sleep during my stay and the pillows were heavenly to sleep on.
The staff at the hotel were so friendly and could not do enough for you, to me they made the holiday - well done Ali Bey. It’s the first holiday in a long time where I’ve been so sad as didn’t want to leave, I would highly recommend the hotel and I will be definitely booking up again either later in the year or next year.
We ended up here at the long end of a chain of cancellations and thank goodness we did, or would never discovered this gem of a hotel.
If you like gardens and cats, it's heaven, set in the middle of the Sorgun forest, with beautiful gardens and a cat sanctuary in place, walking to and fro the rooms smelling the night flowering jasmine and seeing the swallows diving around is wonderful.
We arrived at 1am and were given a meal of steak, chicken and chips that would have fed five, our room was absolutely spotless, really sorry we can't remember our lovely housekeeper's name, she was amazing.
The staff were a credit to the hotel but we have to single out Serkan, Alex and Ozlem who all flitted back and forward between the restaurants and Rumi bar, and looke d after us SO well.
There is a brilliant kid free pool, we spent most of our time there, but the main pool was pretty quiet and you have the whole beach as well, so no worries about beds or anything.
One tip we would give is, take a taxi down to Side, costs aroud £7, and explore it a couple of nights, have your meal first, or just eat out, the roman sites are amazing and mostly free.
Covid 19 adherence is great, temperature taken ech morning, masks supplied/sanitiser stations every where and cleanlieness outstanding.
If we could come back tmrw, we would, thank you
Everything about this hotel is 5 star, the excellent choice of food in all of the restaurants, the drinks on offer, the rooms, pools, cleanliness, service.
The location is great, on its own private beach, with lots of free sunloungers, and a 25 min walk along to Side.
The swimming pools are impressive, large, spotlessly clean, plenty sun loungers and nice temperature. The adults only pool is very relaxing. The children’s pool is large and spacious with lots of slides and things to play on. The adults water slides are great fun, and fast!
The whole layout and design of the hotel has been extremely well thought out, although there were hundreds of guests, it doesn’t feel like it as there’s so much space, with the beach and 5 pools.
This is probably the best hotel we’ve stayed in on holidays across Greece, Spain, Portugal etc, will definitely return in future.
The food was lovely and there were different options every evening. The food was cased by plastic screens and staff were on hand to dish up for you. The pool area was very clean and well spaced out and the beach is less than a 2 minute walk away. The team do a great job offering daytime activities for adults and children and the evening entertainment was amazing.
We would absolutely recommend staying at Ali Bey Resort, it is a beautiful hotel.
Despite this I would highly recommend this hotel for its staff, setting and location and we had a lovely holiday and would do there again.
So where do we start, on arrival at Antalya airport we were met by the TUI rep who introduced us to our driver for our private transfer to the hotel. The transfer takes approximately one hour but this wasn’t such an issue in the air conditioned mini van. Once at the hotel we were quickly checked in and shown to our room. The room was large and well laid out. The bed was huge and very comfortable, in fact the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. There was plenty of wardrobe space, a mini fridge (beer, wine, soft drinks, water, sweets and nuts) which was restocked daily. Tea and coffee making facilities and a large well appointed bathroom with whirlpool bath. The only negatives in the room were the balcony, which was tiny and as the Ali Bey Resort is an eco friendly Resort it is like living in a forest, which means the balcony is surrounded by trees and therefore little or no view and not much sunlight. And the air conditioning which struggled to get our room below 26C.
As for the hotel grounds, the eco forest look was beautiful, walking anywhere in the Resort was like walking through a forest, it was superbly maintained by an army of staff.
The pools are large and there are plenty of sunbeds to go around, and whilst there is no need to be up at the crack of dawn to reserve said sunbeds there seems to be plenty of people who cannot help themselves, sneaking out before dawn to get “their beds “.
The beachfront setting was excellent with a fantastic beach bar.
The bars, restaurants and snack bars are all excellent, with a large choice of food and drink on offer. I had read a few reviews before arriving by people complaining about the food and drink, I find these complaints hard to understand as we never struggled to get anything good to eat or drink.
The thing that pulled the whole place together was the staff, they were professional friendly and very efficient. Service was excellent and could not be faulted, housekeepers, gardeners, restaurant and bar staff were all amazingly helpful and hard working. A special mention to Salih, Samet, Speedy( forgot his real name) and our housekeeper Feride Aslan, who all went the extra mile to ensure our holiday was fantastic.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a luxury stay in Turkey. Absolutely brilliant.
Buffet restaurant 😋 enjoyed everything. Service impeccable, staff work extremely hard and are wonderful, friendly and regularly saw departing guest giving hugs to staff.
Didn't eat in any of the Al la cartes so cannot comment with exception that not only did you have to pay for dinner but drinks were not included so made for expensive meal. Didnt feel like I'd missed out though.
Rooms cleaned daily and linens changed regularly plenty of toiletries left which were of a very high standard including shower gel shampoo conditioner and moisturiser.
Beach sandy, not to far to walk to sea. Had a very windy night and following morning the hotel staff were on beach clearing away seaweed that had come in all within an hour.
Grounds absolutely beautiful. So green and smelling amazing with jasmine in lots of locations. Pathways to rooms always shaded and cool.
Cats 🐈 have their own cat house are vaccinated and feed daily. You do have to be vigilant when opening room doors if u don't want additional guests in with you. All appeared to be well looked after.
We went after school holidays and were able to get Sunbeds each day.
Favourite pool definitely up in aqua park. Water cooler but has jets, built in Jacuzzis (3) and little rapid as well as the slides further back and an amazing kiddies water park.
Been on 3 holidays to different hotels in last 12 months and this is the first we would come back to.
Pros: hotel’s rooms are extremely luxurious. Whenever I travel out of states, I always stay either at Swiss or Mandarin Oriental or Four Seasons- this hotel Ali Bey Sorgun is way above these 3 hotels in terms of luxury. The rooms are fill with free, legit useful products, everything in the minibar is free including alcoholic beverages. Hotel has a lot (i mean A LOT) of pool options. They definitely separate kids and adults sections. If you are someone that can’t stand baby crying and toddler tantrums- you won’t see these in this hotel as kids can’t come to “silent pool” sections and even the beach as “adult section”. Kids usually hang out with their parents at the designated family areas which is a lot and super big. I loved these thoughtful options for adults with no kids.
If you are coming as a family, you can leave your kids at the kids areas where ali bey kids instructors entertain them (both day and night activities). This is definitely a family hotel and tons of options to help parents to have a nice vacation.
There are two different options when it comes to “all inclusive”. One is “normal all inclusive (only soft drinks”, the other one is “ultra inclusive” for people they love drinking with no limits.
Their beach is super clean and has a blue flag (meaning the cleanest water at Manavgat area). It is not too deep (5.7ft) and the water temperature is just peerfecttt!
Every single employee who works here are just happy. They genuinely do their best to help you. If you have special food requests, you can let the chefs at the main restaurant know and they definitely and literally cook it for you (gluten free, vegan options are a LOT too).
Every food is fresh. Service is super duper fast. Rooms are super clean. I stayed 11 days and I am leaving with pure happiness and I will definitely come back!
One more pro; hotel is build inside a forest where they did everything to preserve the nature. You wake up with amazing bird chirping sounds.
Cons:
Hotel is 1hr away from the airport BUT you can arrange a vito private car for 75euros~ with a private driver and welcomer at the airport assigned only for you and your family. Also having the hotel a little far away from the city is truly amazing. It is truly worth every single penny to get the private driver and the vito car (up to 6 people).
Lastly; I would like to say special thanks to receptionist Deniz, guest manager Mehmet, booking personal Fatos, house keeping Ismal and waiter Yusuf as well as Emirhan at the golf car helper. Eka at the spa for an amazing hammam experience. Kurtulus as the reception manager.
This hotel is a gem! Next, I will visit their new JoAli Hotel at Maldives!
