Overall we had an amazing experience and will definitely be back not only because all though slightly dated, the rooms were immaculate, the pools heavenly, white sand beaches. The staff were amazing and were incredibly hard to say goodbye to. Myself and my eldest daughter cried like babies on our departure day saying goodbye to our new found sons/ daughters / brothers/ sisters FRIENDS! This was not good bye it was until next time and if any of them ever make it to London they will be welcomed with open arms.
So a huge thank you to everyone at One resort aqua park tunisia, thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💕 until we meet again ❤️ x
The restaurant was always a bit of a bun-fight, but that's down to the other guests, not the fault of the hotel. The guests could be soooo greedy and wasteful, which is a shame.
The food was a little hit and miss, being geared largely towards the Russian clientele, but we never went hungry, even with 3 fussy boys. And none of us had bad stomachs (even with ice in drinks)
You have to be early for the better sunbeds if you want a group together (or a parasol).
Only downsides:-
Unable to get into room until after 3pm, when we arrived before 1pm.
Food sometimes odd, but never awful. Gluttony of other guests was appalling, but not the hotel's fault.
Would I go again?? Yes, for sure.
The hotel was clean, the food was plentiful, the staff were lovely, the drinks were plentiful. The sunrises were beautiful and the sunsets were stunning.
Majority of the staff are very friendly. The barmen in the lobby bar were fantastic, and nothing was too much trouble all working really hard. Also had great service at the pool bars. Tips were very appreciated, knew this from experience of these types of holidays. We tipped abut 10 Dinar in a few places after about 4 days of being there once we'd worked out where we were spending more of our time and on a couple more occasions as he holidays went on and we received great service. Found the service at the Beach bar a bit abrupt and disorganised. It seemed a real inconvenience to the bar staff to want a drink sometimes.
At Lunch and Dinner in the restaurant some food was often not very warm. This is understandable with-it being buffet style but at times there were trays of full of room temperature food that's had sat there too long during quieter periods. Breakfast was great with good variety and great quality every time. The chefs on the omelette and waffle section were great at handling ques at busier times. On top of this, the burger, pasta and dessert bars by the slide pool was great for alternatives if you didn't want to use the restaurant during the day.
Entertainment overall was good fun. As a group we joined in a with a good selection of activities including darts, volleyball and various pool games. The animation team running this were a real highlight of the holiday at times, especially the 2 twins. Evenings there was music and shows at the Ampitheater, this isn't my kind of thing but others in our group enjoyed this and kids' entertainment. We did go on a quad biking excursion with the company selling them in the hotel. It was short 20-minute trip to the quads and had a great time drashing them around for about an hour. Would definitely recommend
Overall, it was good value for money and had an enjoyable stress-free holiday but just feel there's room to improve to make it better.
So we were reassigned to this hotel.
Not bad, hotel is getting old, food is not delicious but ok ( what you would expect from an all inclusive). The water slides are nice.
But, as I booked a room in a superior hotel, and paid an extra 20€ for a sea view I expected more. The receptionist was not commercial at all. I told him several times if they could do anything to compensate for their mistake, but no, they don’t have seaview so the only compensation I got for paying a room 50€ more at their closed hotel is a fruit basket... very useful in an all inclusive...
Very disappointed in the way my problem was handled and by the fact that nobody really cared.
I think the hotel is not very bad, but the service you get is awful
Arrived here May 2023 at about midnight and unfortunately the welcome was very poor , food from beach bar offered was disgusting pizza reheated and totally inedible. The guy on reception was a complete liar as told us our room would have two bedrooms, (which I asked for and booked) but in fact our room was a single room with 3 beds. When I asked at reception the following day about our room I was told twin rooms only for 4 people , something I will take up with tui back home. So not a great start to our holiday here. 😕 However not going to spoil our holiday.
The rooms themselves are decent enough and cleaned daily , wi fi in them is OK, mini fridge has one bottle of water and one bottle of coke and is not restocked for you , there is no kettle or tea coffee facility in your room .Only Two plug sockets available in room so worth taking extension plug for charging phones etc as we did. There were ants in the room constantly as all rooms are on ground level but they seem harmless and you get used to them .
Most of the staff here seem happy , and very polite and helpful and all work very hard , the pools are very clean and nice , there's a money exchange at reception so you can change small amounts at a time to suit .
On site shop is reasonably priced for most things but a tube of pringles will cost you 5 pounds (honestly).
Breakfast and dinner in restaurant is OK but definitely not for the English,
Water Park burgers are good snacks but do bring your own mayo and ketchup if your coming as we did because there's is awful .
Waterpark is great , lots of entertainment and good slides.
Beach bar here seems good for cocktails all day and night aswell , but we tried paninis from here on 2nd night and they were inedible . We never ate at beach bar again.
Entertainment team work tirelessly at pools to help you enjoy your stay with the usual darts invites and water games or leave you alone if that's your thing, night time Entertainment is ok , definitely not worth writing about .
Drinks at bars are OK, they are well watered and cheap branded usual . Branded drinks are available to buy if you ask, but not cheap.
The taxis are cheap , we had a trip to kfc one night , the driver waited for us and brought us back for 20 pound , about the same cost of the kfc which was nice .
Overall the staff and the hotel are great for a cheap holiday , but next time we will choose better hotel chain who have better stars.
Again could not fault the staff , all very nice and helpful.
Please make sure you take some cash as the towels require a 10dn deposit and they don’t take card for this.
We had a familyroom (2 x adults and 3 kids). Plenty of room, with their bedroom being a separate room with a glass door and curtain separating them. It was clean, with fresh towels and bed linen daily.
The hotel has nice pools, good slides with plenty of loungers and a good beach. Staff are friendly.
Entertainment: Plenty of entertainment going on in the daytime which was a real positive but it was poor at best in the evening (tacky). Credit to the entertainment team for trying but the hotel need to outsource this part
Excursions: we did the quad bikes and camel ride.
Quad biking was really good not far from the hotel and a good couple of hours of entertainment (take some cash as you stop off for a drink and you can buy a bandana to stop the dirt from going in your mouth)
Camel ride was an experience for the kids but the area is the same for quad biking which wasn’t pleasant scenery in fact it was more like a rubbish dump
Restaurant/Bars : food is where this place really lets itself down. The breakfast was fine in the buffet area as they had pancakes cereal and omelettes. However come to dinner and evening meal The buffet area produced poor quality food. The meat was fatty and tough and everything was bland. I enjoy fish but be aware all fish were full of bones. The food in general reminded me of a school canteen back in the day. My three lads were happy as they ate breaded chicken burger and chips for lunch and evening meal for seven nights. As for us we survived on one pasta dish from the pasta bar.
We booked in the other alacarte restaurants and they were the same, POOR.
Overall
Wouldn’t go back because of the food
We had a nice time in the day
Pros:
- Bungalow type hotel, nature atmosphere and no big building
- 3 swimming pools and the sea. 1 swimming pool with slide and "wild river" 1 classic pool rather child and 1 pool reserved for adults.
- The "restaurant" the cuisine is varied overall and rather good (home fries, grill)
- Fast food available on the sea (service 24/24) and slide side with burger and ice cream.
- Cocktail on the square every night
- Dynamic animation with the usual animations of a club hotel
- Mini club for children very well with top animators and varied activities.
- 3 restaurant available to eat quietly. Restaurant fish and Tunisian very good (we did not test the international restaurant)
- No gym but 2 gym sessions available per day and rather efficient.
Cons:
There won’t be many but they are enough to piss you off every day and waste your crazy time and ruin part of your holiday!!
Restaurant:
Shortage of glass!!! You can't get drinks or wait 10 to 15 minutes at the bar to get them (if there are!) It sounds silly, but it's a big issue in the hotel.
- Disgusting table outside, impossible to have a clean and erect table (unless you pay 😁) Not the fault of the waiters they are underwater and a little poorly organized.
The bakchich: Normally you give them at the end to reward the work and ba here it's the other way around. You have to pay if you want a clean and reserved table. Same pay for drinks quickly.
- Cleaning of rooms: Namely, we are not for a daily cleaning, but 0 bathroom cleaning in 15 days (mirrors and shower not made).
- Towel in the rooms: 3 days to have towels on arrival 🙃 despite several reminders at the reception (they arrive in 10 minutes) it was necessary to speak to a manager ( 1st time in my life in more than 20 trips)
- Cleanliness of the glasses at the pool bar, the glasses are rinsed in stagnant water and since it is plastic you will have a particular taste.
- Lack of deckchair by the pool ( You have to get up around 7:30 to have room.
- Big problem of behavior of some waiters at the pool bar and restaurant, friendly and misogynistic (I did not believe it but seen with my own eyes )
Tip:
- Taxi available to go to Sousse and Monastir, count 25 Diram per taxi.
- Dining at the restaurant at 12:30 and 8:15 to avoid the crowds
- Wake up 7h for towels on deckchairs and for the brave you can jog on the beach.
- Don't buy anything in the hotel (as usual it's way too expensive) Go to town the same way for pirate boat trips twice as cheap.
There was 19 of us in total ages ranging from 9month - 65+
Had an amazing time here. We did have a bit of a faf about when arriving at the hotel waiting for our room. Once that was sorted everything was great!
The hotel rooms are cleaned every day, fresh towels, mini fridge stocked with water and 1 x coke on arrival.
The food - there was always something for everyone. The pasta bar during the day was a huge win with the kids serving burgers along with the pasta dishes.
The Animation - WOW...we miss them soooo much! They all work so so hard, it's unreal! Our holiday was made unforgettable by them ☆ From the activities & games during the day to the shows at night, they do not stop!
So sad to be home! If I could name them all I would but my memory fails me 🙈 these guys are just THE BEST! Jackson, Freddie, Chris & Tyson we miss you! ♡ (and all the rest of course!)
The foam party was also unreal!!
