Soon, the Salammbo. What can I say... It took ages to check in. When we eventually got to our rooms, mine opened out onto the car park, so we asked to be moved and the amazing lady in reception found us a side sea view room each, which was most appreciated. The actual hotel is in a perfect location, literally on the beach. It's perfect to sit there having breakfast, lunch or dinner looking at the beach and sea. The food was lovely and varied and very tasty. The restaurant manager was lovely, he always came up to say hallo and have a joke with us. However the rest of the waiters were terrible. You'd get better service in a drive thru McDonalds. They didn't bother to clear the tables or provide cutlery. They had specially prepared tables, and once after waiting 10 minutes for cutlery we took the cutlery off one of these tables right behind us. Needless to say the waiter was over in 5 seconds to replace it. The swimming pool was lovely, but really really busy. It is way too small for the size of the hotel. There is a huge unused area behind the theatre area that could be used as another pool. The entertainment was terrible, ear blowing repetitive music from one end with a woman going "uh uh uh uh" like an animal into a mic at one end of the pool, and elevator music competing at the other end. The waiters were useless, unless you tipped them everyday. I've just come from a hotel where the waiters are absolutely amazing, so what a difference The guests from Eastern block were very rude and just pushed everyone out of their way. The Arabic guests were exceedingly greedy and took plates and plates of food and barely touched it. Overall the holiday was good but I wouldn't go back, unlike the last hotel where I was devastated ro leave

We stayed at Club Salammbo in August 2022. The complex is beautiful with plenty of sunbeds around the pool or on the beach, but they could do with a few more parasols to provide the much needed shade in the afternoon. I agree with previous reviews that this hotel is used mainly by European families and therefore all the communications (and activities clubs) are in French and so difficult to join in as an English family. The rooms are comfortable, but basic (wouldn't say 4*), they have made an attempt to update the decor recently with new curtains and a lick of paint but the paint was applied liberally ! The bed however was very comfortable 😀 The food is generally good, with a selection of dishes each night and plenty of variety. The food seemed to get better however on the themed nights which were held once or twice in the 10 days we were there. The bar on the beach however is not all inclusive which is a real shame as it would have been nice to have a drink or meal elsewhere than the buffet restaurant. Overall, for the price we paid we were happy with what was provided. We love Tunisia ❤️ and will be back.

Location: 4/5 Staff: 3/5 food: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Room: 2/5 The room deffinitely need renovation! especially the bathroom!! and the staff could use some training to be more professional! Not attentive to all clients and focusing mostly on potential tippers.

We booked last minute at a very very special price. It wasnt the best hotel we have ever visited but for the price paid it was good. Beach is lovely, entertainment is missing and food must be improved. The staff was friendly and professional though.

This was our first visit to tunisia and this hotel, we arrived late due to flight being delayed , the first thing the staff did was to take us into the restaurant where they had a meal waiting for us which was a nice gesture on their behalf. The 10 days we spent there were just perfect, the staff were fantastic and very helpful, the food was very good and lots of choice. The hotel was right on the beach and had all the usual activities such as parasailing, pedalos, etc. The rooms were very clean and serviced every day but will say bit dated. The only thing I would say about the hotel is that it was mainly for the French such as the quiz night and karaoke plus the entertainment staff spoke French over the tannoy but they all spoke English but besides this the hotel is worth the visit and is just perfect

Loved this resort! Right on the sandy beach and a pool a few steps away. The staff are fantastic, especially waiter Kalaed, sorry forgot his name but the waiter who used to get our table ready at the far end, all the entertainment staff, grumpy behind the pool bar! Actually all were great! It does state 4 star, but to fair the rooms and towels are in dire need of renovation and replacement. But remember, at around £10 PPPN after the greedy flight companies have took this money, it is still a great deal with all drinks and food as well! The food was always great, plenty of choice and theme nights. Afternoon crepes and ice cream and bottles water at every bar, oh and plastic seats which is fantastic! Be aware that entertainment is in French, didn't bother me and made it more fun! We went to the old Town via £2.60 taxi outside the resort which was nice and could have picked up a boat trip for £8. On the resort they charge £30! I will definitely be going back!

We were apprehensive about staying here as the reviews seemed mixed. However, it was amazing for all of us. We are English and do not speak French or Arabic but the staff were incredible, not only making the effort to communicate with us in English but so friendly and taking time out to make sure we were having fun and making us feel special. Every time we went for meals, or to the bar or attended entertainment we were greeted with such warmth and friendliness. The location is great, right on the beach , within walking distance of the marina. The resort was spacious and clean. Plenty of places to relax, the main pool and the brilliant slides pool at the other end of the resort. The food, although can be repetitive, was healthy and fresh. We would all return here again.
