Enjoy your stay in Hammamet!
I've been to Tunisia before but this is the first time in hammamet in Hotel Menara. Good Hotel I would recommend it to everyone coming to hammamet give it 8/10 I really enjoyed my stay I felt like I'm home Thank u menara team
Value for money and exceptional service. The hotel has a lovely pool and evening entertainment. The staff are so accommodating and helpful. They went over and above to help us during our stay. Breakfast is a buffet and good. Rooms are cleaned daily
I have never seen anything so disgusting as I saw at this hotel which was not worthy of any star let alone 4. There was a filthy mattress strewn on the side of our hotel room door and a very dirty room opened near ours with faeces on the floor! The carpets in the hotel were so dirty it was sickening. We had a broken mirror in the room and the double bed we booked were two single beds of different heights on cheap wooden base one of which was broken in the middle. The sockets didn’t work nor the TV really with only 3 channels of which one was an Islamic site. The ceiling had recent water damage and the room smelt damp. The balcony was dirty with the door handle broken and the car park below the room was noisy. The bathroom was so dirty that we refused to use it. Worst of all in this hotel is that it has prostitutes in reception waiting to pick up a tourist. One approached my husband on the way to the bar toilet and when he ignored her she took offence. We saw several. There is WiFi in reception (which doesn’t really work) nothing in rooms despite it being advertised. We complained to reception about our issues but the woman was so arrogant and rude and we decided to try an get some rest as was travelling the next day. But at 10pm a disco started which was so loud that by 2am we could no longer stand it and checked out at 3 and made our way to the airport to sit there for many hours for a 15h45 flight! This truly is the hotel from hell.…
The sofas in reception are ripped and unclean. WIFI only works in reception and sometimes does not work at all. They only have one elevator, which is in the middle of the semicircle building. Have to carry your own suitcases to the room, no bellhop. The rooms are small and suffocating, very very unclean, dust everywhere. The rooms look like they are falling apart, frayed curtains, unclean bed sheets and they don't change the bed. Stained cheap quality towels. No iron, ironing board or kettle in the room. Fridge is super small and very dirty inside and out, I don't think they clean in between guests. Terrible terrible beds, mattress makes your back ache. The pictures of the this hotels are misleading, yes the cleaners made swans and shapes from towels to make it seem like a posher hotel but it is a distraction from the mess they call a hotel. Marks all over mirror and walls. Dusty wardrobes, you are better off leaving your clothes in the suitcase. A 1960's TV, which only worked if you took out the fridge plug Now we come on to the bathroom, the worst bathroom I have ever seen. The showers in the bath the toilet are rusted, they had all gone green, broken tiles. The bath is soo high up, it was a challenge going in and out, plus it is so small really makes one uncomfortable. Not suitable for children or old people.…
Needed a week of relaxation and that's exactly what we had. Arrived early hours of the morning and the hotel was full. We were given a basic room but told not to unpack as we would be upgraded by lunchtime. We certainly were. Lovely room overlooking the pool. The room was clean, towels and sheets were spotless. As with most hotels in Tunisia, they have suffered with a lack of tourism and money but this small hotels rooms are freshly painted. The pool was kept spotless. It is gradually sloping so ideal for young children and families. The small childrens pool is next to it with railings inbetween so no jumping in from 1 to another. The lifeguard was always watching. The animation team were always smiling and worked hard with the children. If you didn't want to join in there was no pressure. All the restaurant, bar and reception staff tried to help and were always polite. The private beach is 10 mins walk away with a bar. Not the prettiest of beaches but makes a nice change. Overall, a great family friendly hotel. We found that if you were polite and smiled, nothing was too much trouble.…
I was traveling with my friend, the hotel isn’t very clean, the food isn’t good and the waiters at the bar are not welcoming.. but all this is nothing compared to what happened to me with the animator Momo!! Not respectful with women, very interested in money ! I have 42 and my friend 38 but that didn’t seem to bother him as long as there is money! unacceptable !! no problem with other smiling and polite animators
They wouldn’t let my boyfriend in just because he didn’t have a room there and it was New Year’s Eve and they didn’t even care..completely uncompassionate to a paying customers needs..I was there for a week and they wouldn’t let him in the gate but you have no problem letting in all these Algerian customers..he was just visiting me and that was it..you have no heart or customer service skills..so I sat there by myself and got hit on by various staff instead..completely unprofessional staff trying to take advantage of the people in the hotel ..just terrible..the heat didn’t work in my room for a week and the guy in maintenance said it was fixed but it wasn’t.,. I have absolutely no idea how the person who works evening/night shift got a job there..he doesn’t understand plain English…
Advertised as a 4 star hotel- would give it 2 at the most. It is not a big hotel, The building is old and not maintained well. There is a pool and active day and night entertainment. Can’t comment on the food as didn’t eat there but there is a restaurant available. The hotel lobby is nice but the rooms are not that good. It is away from the beach.
I have stayed here many times before my last visit wasn’t so good but we decided to return as it’s a nice small hotel and easy access for us to stay over We stayed here just one night I booked 2 double rooms both looked over the pool area, they were both spacious clean with clean bed linen clean towels bathrooms both had toiletries provided Yes the hotel is tired but it’s clean the staff are lovely especially the reception lady she’s the most sweetest lady always a lovely smile when we arrive and very welcoming. like most hotels in Hammamet they have suffered with little or no tourism over the last few years it is only now building up again so I appreciate that the hotel is doing its best I paid so little for these rooms and was thrilled when we had the rooms allocated looking over the pool rather than the side or front of the hotel which can be noisy with traffic deliveries to the other hotels around We will return as we often like to stay 1 or 2 nights here See you all again soon …
Nothing to recommend this place: - very rude receptionist with attitude problem - unable/unwilling to supply a second dor access card - room small with very basic, poor quality furniture - see photo - stained duvet with no cover - nowhere to hang damp towels in bathroom - no remote control for TV - ill fitting cupboard doors - see photo - filthy balcony door frame - see photo - dingy bathroom with grubby floor - loud disco music from pool area until midnight, then unruly guests shouting & disturbing others until 2am. Where is the night/Duty Manager??? Need I say more? Do yourself a favour avoid this hotel. It’s cheap but definitely not cheerful!
