Negatives No tour operator representative. When making a booking the internet doesn't tell you what's included within 'All Inclusive' and what isn't - the wording is misleading. The WiFi is very poor. Very little English spoken and very few English guests. Check in is 2 pm no earlier. The public area toilets should be cleaned more regularly, particularly in early evening, as non European guests leave them in a disgusting and flooded state. The restaurant staff work hard to maintain standards but guests (not from Europe) take far too much food only to leave/waste it. No UK news channel on the TV. Instructions for how to use the safe are misleading. Positives The roomsm are nice, hot water, good shower, safe deposit box. The weather is hot in September . The majority of the staff are lovely particularly Ali and Moze in the bar area, Hatem the Food and Drink Manager who had the hardest job of all hotel staff in the Yasmine restaurant, Hela on Reception and Bargui overseeing front of house. Overall If the hotel want to achieve higher standards they should review where they advertise their hotel. If they wish to get more European guests they need to curtail the number of guests arriving from non European areas with low hygiene standards.

I went there for a weekend with the family and here is what I think: Pros: - Spacious rooms - No self-service (I like to think it's a Covid prevention measure) - Dinner wasn't bad - There weren't so many guests so it felt like we had it to ourselves Cons: - AC works only in the rooms. If you wanna sit at the reception, be ready to sweat your heart out. Wanna sit by the pool in the evening? Make sure you have a torch, it's more gloomy than the dark ages. - Breakfast is AWFUL. One of the worst I've had in a lifetime. - Parking is not only small but also...well, doesn't exactly qualify to be a parking. I will be giving it a second chance this week as the family's already booked. Will keep you posted (with photos this time).

We had an amazing experience in hotel saphir place specially food was good the Lady in Reception she is really Professional and speak very good English but we had just few negative Points The Service in the bar - we had to wait really long time to order the coffee. And maybe because of the huge place of Reception and lobby Bar space we felt cold. But we will come back

We arrived at the hotel after a very early morning flight, first impressions were that the hotel was amazing. However overall we were very disappointed. Pro's - You are able to get good photos as the first impression is good, nice reception area, bars and spacious room Con's - No flexibility with getting in the room before 2pm, the rooms were not cleaned properly (hairs in shower, linen never changed, toiletries not replenished), safe temperamental. Whilst the reception and bar area's look good certain areas were cleaned others were not - the toilets in the lobby area were never clean (they had a sheet that was supposedly signed when cleaned, this however would be signed until mid afternoon at 10am and would still show the same time in the evening). The beach chairs were all broken and old, an health and safety nightmare. The pool had loud music blaring out, glasses were not always washed at the pool bar - you were also given plastic wine size glasses for beer and soft drinks. My partner and I both had upset stomachs for the majority of our stay (we had 3 weeks in Gambia in January with no problems) and we both generally never get ill when we travel and this was definitely due to the poor hygiene in both the dining room and at the pool areas. The hotel appears to have way too many staff doing nothing when with more work this hotel could be the advertised 5 star. Do not go all inclusive as in the bars and restaurants you will always be served after customer paying at the time.

We apologize for the state of the room and the beach chairs, it is not something you usually encounterand we will work harder on preventing this for happening in the future. We are very sorry to hear that you and your partner had a stomach aches during your stay but you should know that our chef and his staff are always doing their best to present delicious and safe meals and we didn’t receive any complaints of this type from our other guests. I would like to inform you that our check in is at 2 pm like all in all the other hotels that is why there is no possibility to get the room in advance. Finally we would like to mention that there is no difference between guests and their booking formulas but we apologize if you felt otherwise. This review is for a 10 days stay in September of 2019. I have to say that the 1st impression was not very good, after arriving in the room, there was sand/dirt on the floor (and mold in the back wall), and the shower had pieces (i really mean pieces) of someones hair. It looked like it was not cleaned at all. The phone was dead (and it stayed dead until we leave) and the tub was dripping, and the door blocked every time we opened it (but it was fixed on that night). After all that, in the days after the things got better, room was better cleaned. I have to say that the safe is not for use (unless you pay for it - even in 2 stars that dont happen). Speaking about the good things: the location is a must... very good, with beach, medina, markets and everything you need nearby. A lot of place to park the car. The food at the reataurant is very good, with a lot of variaty, for all tastes, and they change everyday (only the desert was a bit disapointing - lots of the same). I went with half pension, so i had to buy the drinks (but thats ok), whats not ok is everytime you order a drink you have to pay right away. it unconfortable paying everytime you want a need drink (they shoud have a system where it shoud be registered in the room number, and them we could pay for everything at the end of the dinner)- or somethings else. Also the foos should have tags (because sometimes its difficult to identify that is the meat). With all that, I really have to say that the waitress were very amabile, and i have to specially thanks to "Saleh", because he helped us everyday, very enjoyable, prestative a being a really good employee. People like him really made or stay more enjoyable. The breakfast is superb :) i will miss those crepes :) The last thing i have to say is about the beach, is beatutifull...... but.... very dirty (as you can see on the photos). There was a lot of algae, but no one cleaned. Other client made a complaint, they came to the beach (all said "yes, yes yes") but from day 1 to day 9 the beach was the same (the path we marked to pass, stood there all the time, soo not new algae... old one not cleaned). The beaches from other hotels were better, so that made us not relaxing at our own beach and search for others. On the other side, the pool is delicious........ really! Good environment, good music, and.... clean water. In the end... if I would go back, would I stay there again? YES, without thinking twice :) so i recommend :)
