Stayed at Merlin Beach for 7 nights. Overall the service and experience was amazing and worth the money. Checking in we used the hotel taxi service from phuket airport. This is only $20 more than a normal taxi and takes the stress out of pickup with your name on a board and then escorted to the car. On arrival we where greeted with smiles and a welcome drink each. Check in was quick and easy. The room is a 10/10 for cleanliness and modern features for Thailand. Not dated at all. We where in a sea view room which had amazing views. The pool view was also great and would suffice for next time. Don't listen to the other reviews about the beach. The beach is great and fine and easy to navigate and is safe. Yes at low tide (say post 4pm) the tide goes out and it's a long walk to go for a swim. But you have 3 massive pools you can use. When the tide is out the rock pools are amazing for exploring with hundreds of fish and crabs to look at and explore. When the tide is in the beach is an amazing white sand and th water is crystal clear. The beach had TWO separate massage places that do laundry. One does drinks. These places are amazing and much cheaper than the hotel. Pool area is great and with 3 pools there is plenty of places to sit. The main pool has a swim up bar and you can also get snacks. Buffet breakfast was great and had way too many options !! Only negative is the prices of drinks. Happy hour at the pool bar is 3 to 5 then rum bar at 5 to 7. This is 2 for 1 and makes the prices ok. However compared too thialand in general it's abit expensive. The concierge is great and can book private cars, tours or whatever you like. A heap of taxis wait out the front od the hotel to take you wherever you like. All prices are fixed so no negotiations but also no rip off's. Bangla road is 250 baht taxi and 300 baht tuk tuk away (about 10 mins) All in all this resort is worth the money and in a great location for both relaxing and heading into patong. …
We were on a family holiday (accompanying senior citizens) and booked 5 premium sea view rooms at this property. Check in time was 3 pm and we reached this property at 3.30 pm. surprisingly only 3 rooms were allotted and for balance 2 rooms, we were asked to wait for 2-3 hrs. In spite of booking and paying in advance, rooms were not allotted to us on time. Instead they were allotted to some other guests for late check outs by accepting additional charges. This was the reply by Ms Cha ,The staff at the front office . She was extremely rude and non cooperative. She was arrogant and was not bothered about getting a check in done for us . This kind of treatment is not acceptable from a reputed chain like Mariott hotels .Ms Cha is answerable to us for spoiling our holiday . Very unexpected and unacceptable treatment from Ms Cha. We were later allotted room no.1323 which apparently is an ocean view room with no view of the ocean. We had paid Extra charges for an ocean view room. Extremely disappointed with the kind of treatment and will strongly not recommended this property for holidays. MS CHA is an extremely rude and inconsiderate employee. …
We reached at 3.30 after a long drive. 10 people in the group some aged 70 plus and mostly seniors celebrating birthday of our family matriarch. Ms Cha couldn’t allot rooms even after waiting for an hour. Even after this long and unacceptable wait, out of 5 rooms booked and paid in advance we were given only 3 at 4.30 pm and for the other two we were told to wait for more 2/3 hours. It seems guests were allowed by Ms Cha to extend their check out by paying extra and therefore the delay in allotting rooms to us. So then we requested for upgrade, since we were all very tired and needed to checkin as we were there only for 2 nights stay in Phuket. Ms Cha flatly refused and was quite rude and arrogant. It is extremely disappointing that a property managed by the reputed Marriott brand gave us such shabby treatment. Your staff at checkin led by Ms Cha is answerable for spoiling our holiday time in Phuket. Extremely disappointed that so many Marriott Bonvoy members who were part of the group was treated in this manner.…
We had booked 5 premium seaview rooms for 2 nights starting 19gh june2022 when we reached for check in at 3.30 the lady at the check in counter refused to give us all the rooms at that time as she said the rooms are not ready Only 3 were given and rest she said after 2 hours when our check in time was 3 pm and we reached after the check in time We were travelling with senior citizens and for my mothers 70th birthday that’s why had requested at the time of booking to give us rooms together but they were in no mood to do that They were giving us rooms in different wings They said we had blocked the rooms but as some other guests paid us extra and extended their stay we gave them those rooms The lady and her senior who was dealing with us were extremely arrogant They also screamed at us in front of several other guests It was completely their fault but rather than accepting their mistake they were getting angry We also requested for any other solution in this case to which they refused We requested them that we will book else where to which the lady said you can go if you want but we will not give you a refund So no refund and room as per their wish We were stuck there with all seniors None of us had lunch After lot of arguments we got the rooms at 5.30 pm so our precious holiday time was wasted After going to the room we realised that 1 room was called sea view only because from the corner of the balcony you could get a partial view of the sea In this property the answer for all requests is a NO For food not advisable for vegetarians Service in the restaurant bar and all other places pathetic I would never recommend this property as when you go to a chain like mariott you expect a certain standard of service Very very disappointed…
This was our first time in Phuket as a family. The service was exceptional and the staff were more than polite, always smiling. The rooms were very spacious very clean and ofc very comfortable. One of the best places we've stayed at so far. The swimming pools are big and always clean with staff always ready to take orders if you want to. The beach is amazing and theres even doggies chilling around which made the stay even more memorable. The food was also really awesome and at reasonable prices. Thanks to all the staff that made our vacay lit
Well laid out with ample place for all types of guests. We were there with our kids and they enjoyed the hotel facilities e.g swimming pool, kids room, kids activities etc. Hotel has a well laid breakfast buffet with great varities. Indian section could improve, didn't like rice idea in breakfast menu. Lunch and dinner options were not so great. Hotel is about 3KM from Patong / Bangla Street and has frequent shuttle service to the place. The hotel beach has a nice view but can't go in waters, unsafe, unmanned, rocky. Staff were very helpful. Memorable trip, would definitely recommend if you are visiting Phuket for peaceful time.
The Marriott is an excellent hotel with lots of facilities, a lovely beach, 3 massive pools. Plenty of restaurants offer good food options. Its a great place to take a family. Our room was quite a walk from the reception areas on the 4th floor. Most of the rooms overlook pools and some also the sea. Outside there are always taxis available but very little other small thai businesses which set up close to hotels in most of Thailand. The main drawback is the remoteness which is not a problem if you prefer to stay around a hotel all week.We prefer to get out and explore.Patong is the nearest big location. There is a shuttle bus but it is usually full when you try to book. The hotel should run a continuous shuttle service. That would be much better and also return after 7.30 which is far too early.Taxis to Patong are 250 Baht. Water pressure was too low in the shower. No decaff coffee at the bars but it is provided in the room. I would recommend the hotel especially to families.…
My sister and I just spent a week at the Marriott and it was absolutely amazing. Pang checked me in and her level of service was AMAZING!! I felt like I was home right away. Toby and Teem were also awesome. We ate breakfast there almost every morning and it was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had, Mai made us feel at home every day!! Overall great hotel, great service and the pools are awesome.
Had High Tea at the Phuket Coffee Shop @The Phuket Mariott. Special compliments to Mr Nut for his exceptional kind, affectionate and personalised service. Highly recommended! The staff in general here are particularly loving and obliging.
We are having a great time. It’s our first visit here - so relaxing. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite, even to some guests who I noticed were quite rude to them at times. The food is good and we are lucky to have a package that includes breakfast and lunch or dinner. I have had three spa treatments including two excellent massages from Ta and Thicha, who are very experienced with a good understanding of any particular issues that you might be experiencing. Polla and Asma have our room looking spick and span, which isn’t easy with two messy guests! Loyalty Manager Natalie was also very supportive helping with an extension to our booking. We will certainly be back for another stay when we can.
