This was my favourite place that we stayed in Thailand. Nestled in the jungle, this resort is a magical retreat. The grounds are meticulous with a number of private bungalows spread out, offering privacy and serenity. For those who are heat-challenged, there is even a unit that offers air conditioning. This is a unique experience for those who will appreciate...

I stayed at Phanom Bencha Mountain Resort for four days in early January 2016 with my husband and two boys aged seven and five. The resort is breathtakingly luscious, like a giant botanical garden teeming with exotic plants, fruits trees and birds, interspersed by ponds and a picturesque stream. Pick your own bananas, jackfruit or pineapples if you wish. The...

Ok I can't stress enough that this place is in the middle of the wilderness and you are therefore surrounded by a multitude of critters, frogs, lizards and other little dudes. While the room was quite clean, the mosquitoe net over our bed was covered in lizard droppings. There was also a big gecko living in the ceiling and it...

I had an amazing experience at this resort. Wonderful people - great food - and a beautiful backdrop. For birders: found many species of Sunbirds and flowerpeckers up near the pool and surrounding areas. Highlights: orange-bellied flowerpecker and an orange-headed thrush.

at an absolutely awesome location! Have to say though this is for nature lovers only as the cabins are very basic with a bed and toilet not the most comfortable but what do you expect for experiencing nature. You will have loads of creepy crawlies around but not that bad but like I said nature lovers only. Now the family...

The host Son, is fantastic a remarkable man. who made the whole experience so personal we felt like family rather than customers. The accommodation itself is a basic hut, no fridge, no tv, just two bedrooms a bathroom and a balcony to chill. Wifi is only available in the restaurant area. It does have an outdoor pool. The scenery and...

Great spot in the middle of the nature ! Staff is great, and the owners too. Food was delicious, we loved the breakfasts. It is located not very close to Krabi, but they have scooters for rent which makes the trip to the city quite fun.. We did the hald-day hiking tour which was also good fun.

We've been regulars here for several years, having first visited back in 2007. Son and his family are extremely welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. Despite being relativly isolated, the resort has everything needed for a short stay - a fantastic restaurant serving delicious food and very nice naturalistic pool. There is a small shop just down...

We spent 4 nights here and enjoyed every minute. Mr Son, wife and family are so friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant is so fresh and tastes wonderful. The log cabins are scattered around the complex and very hilly. They are basic but in keeping with the area and have mosquito nets over the bed. If you...

This is not a place for ”normal tourists” - wanting many people, a lot of food, bars, music and entertainment in their holiday. This is definitely a place for Nature lovers - for people wanting to get away from the noise of the city, the suffocation of the streets with too many cars and from air-conditioned ”prison-like” rooms. If you...

“All the bungalows look private, the a.c. unit is good for those who think they need it.”

“The lodges closest to the restaurant are best if you are not too agile. Otherwise the best views are further up the hillside and you will need a torch at night.”

“If you don't want to climb too much, choose a bungalow closer to restaurant and reception. But if you need quiet and privacy - choose a bungalow closer to the swimming pool (which is up, in the hill).”
