Hotel is quite new but the staffs are unprofessional. Lacks of proper training. Needs improving on services as well as the attitude of the front desk. The free wifi is good and the signal is strong enough to share with others.

The bathroom has a step which you could easily get hurted if you did not notice. I kicked the step many times during my stay. The breakfast used to be better. This is our second time stay at this hotel and this could be our last time as well.

Our second Stay at this hotel. Not exactly the centre of town but still accessible for travellers.

A new hotel, clean, practical and comfortable. the only fault is so minor - - - the step slightly down into the bathroom is a trip-point - must be watched, and - oh! - my Thai wife is used to "American-style" toilets that use a lot of flushing water. The new hotel uses minimal water flushing units!

Enough of the gripes! - good service, very clean, quiet, good breakfast and easy parking. This is one hotel on our re-visit list.

Pleasant stay with clean rooms and spacious bathroom. A mall is nearby with Robinsons department store. 20 minute drive to Surat Thani Airport.

Check for GPS coordinates, which we believe are more accurate that google maps location.

I have stayed here many times in the past 4-5 years and liked it a lot, indeed a lot. Reason: location close to main roads, good room standard and sleeping quality and - not the least - I have before always got really good food at reasonable prices served when ordering room service. The food quality is really important since this hotel is in the outskirts of the city and no suitable local restaurants are nearby. I have mainly used this hotel for overnight stays due to long car journeys. This is why I again chose to stay here last night. However, we were greatly disappointed when I and my family members received the ordered food via room service. I just wonder: what has happened with the food? It was completely tasteless, even I specifically ordered spicy ”southern style” and dishes were sloppy and too sweet. On the whole, not good at all.

I do not like to express negativity, so please look at it as a cry for help to achieve positive change, i.e. to the good food standard/quality the hotel always provided before.

Thus, I kindly urge the management to look into this fatal shortage of cooking quality without delay. Otherwise I may feel forced to take my business elsewhere, and for me this would be an unwanted decision.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at this hotel as an overnight getaway. It was very nice it had a mini fridge in the room air conditioning and a very nice bathroom hot shower etc. the staff in the lobby were very friendly as well they held the door opened for us when we walked in and out and offered breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. I believe, although I can't really remember the time. The hotel has a massage facility as well as full dining room and a gym. they have High-Speed Internet available and it's centrally located.

The receptions are not friendly.
They don’t have service mind. No telling how to get to the room, no smile. It was so bad service from the front. This hotel isn’t a good place for staying after your long day! I booked another hotel is more better

The hotel is great for a one or two night stay, I say that because there is nothing really close to the hotel for food or entertainment. There is a mall about 1 km away but you have to walk on the highway. Basically the only place to eat & kill time. The wifi in the rooms works perfectly- each room has it's own router! We downloaded movies within 30 minutes (which normally take 12-24 hours anywhere else in SE Asia). Breakfast is okay. Rooms are nice, big and clean with comfy beds. I would stay here again for a quick stopover!!

This is a new hotel in Surat Thani about 8 months. Suitable for those on transit enroute to samui or flying back to other thai cities.

Location :
It is located slightly outskirts of the main town of Surat Thani but the plus point it is near the major shopping mall Central Festival and Home Pro. If you book through hotel the transfer to airport will cost you THB 650 1 way and Donsak pier THB 1500 and for thai standard is not cheap. Journey to both location will be 15 minutes and 1 hour respectively.

Arrival Experiences:
Outdoor car park many lots available if you drive your own or rental car. Upon our arrival we were approached by a porter to assist us.
Checked in were quite straight forward but they will request THB 500 deposit for your room key card. They only issued 1 key. It kind of strange as key card you can actually request and program extra duplicate key in most hotel. Unless it is a conventional key

Room:
Room size is spacious with the standard in room facilities of wall mounted samsung TV, small mini bar, A single sofa seat with a small coffee table and foot rest. Single multi split Air con. Kettle and hair dryer. Bathroom is simple standard layout of separate toilet and standing shower. No bathtub for the room I booked for. One complaint is the hot water supply is inconsistent and toilet grouting also need some touch up now as stubborn stains had started to built up. Overall cleanliness in the room is still good. The room information and regulations file the information in English need review as there were many spelling and typo error and for a foreigner to read it can translate into a major joke.example in their regulation they stated " rent will be pain in advance" we are not laughing but the management need to review it before placing in all their rooms. One plus is wifi is free here.

One major experience we encountered is mosquito. We didn't opened the window or door throughout our stay but we're surprised to have mosquito biting us in the night while me and my partner were asleep. We realized the floor maid while cleaning the rooms in the morning on the floor they leave the door opened, several rooms entrance doors were left opened and this may contribute to mosquitos flying into the room and our room. The management should seriously look into this constructive feedback. We understand mosquito are everywhere but prevention is importance. Suggest their housekeeping have some electric mosquito repellent or close the door while cleaning vacant or occupied room.

Breakfast:
Restaurant capacity cannot cater to the need if the hotel is full capacity. Overall breakfast is between average and good. I will said it is cater more to Thai guest as they were many thai guests staying in the hotel. It you are not expecting a international standard of America buffet it is acceptable with the standard coffee/tea. Fruits, toast bread some fried rice and thai dish available. Everything's here is self service and do not expect the waitress to serve you or refill your coffee or tea, the staff were on site just to clear and set the table.

Overall:
Our feedbacks and comments is more of our opinion and experiences and hope some of the valid and constructive feedbacks will be look into. Personally we felt this is a good hotel for transit and short stay. We will certainly

There are no well known hotel brands in Surat Thani, so we took a gamble on a family room at the recently constructed S Tara Grand hotel and were pleasantly surprised.
We were met by a team of young, efficient and friendly front desk staff who had us checked in and up to our room in minutes.
The hotel is new, modern, and spacious (family room was approx 100m2, with 2 bathrooms) The bathroom had a bath tub and shower, plus all the amenities (tooth brushes, shaving kit, etc) WiFi and AirCon worked fine for us.
Breakfast is served downstairs and is typical "Thai Hotel" breakfast fare; ham in water, hot dogs, fried eggs, bread, congee, juices, coffee etc... Personally, I prefer to make myself a few ham and egg sandwiches from the buffet items. The "thai-food" room service we ate the evening before was tasty, fast and ridiculously inexpensive and the minibar was stocked with soft drinks and beers at 7-11 prices.
To find the hotel simply head for "HomePro" which is nextdoor, or head for the "Central Plaza" shopping mall on the other side of the road. There's ample parking in the hotel car park.
We only stayed here as a stopover on a road trip to the south of Thailand, this isn't a resort hotel, it's more a business style hotel (like a premier inn or travel lodge with big rooms) I'd recommend for a stop over or for business.
If the hotel management reads this, maybe a good idea to put a few "international dishes" on the room service menu, like a cheese burger :-) and add at least one English TV channel please - otherwise, keep up the good work, and a big thank you.

Hotel Location: S Tara Grand is located in a quiet neighbourhood. Hence you would need a car or some form of transport to go into the city. Hotel building is certainly not grand but when you step into the hotel lobby, you will be greeted by this ‘grand’ toy bear attired in yellow hotel uniform and black hat.

Hotel Staff: When I arrived late evening, there’s a hotel staff (man) who came out to pick my luggage, led me to the counter where two lady receptionists efficiently checked me in. After that, the man then escorted me up to my room. That’s really good service!

Hotel Room: I got the corner room for a one night stay. When I stepped into the hotel room, my first ‘grand’ impression was “Wow, this room is so new, so clean, so big and so spacious!” Part of this ‘grand’ impression was due to the white shiny floor tiles, white painted walls and white bed sheets. The room is nicely decorated with contemporary shades of grey (e.g curtains) and white punctuated by a green sofa and green leg rest.
The bed mattress was comfortable and offered me a good night’s sleep.
The dressing table extends into a long ledge that offers storage space. The dressing table doubles up as the working table where you occasionally look yourself into the mirror during the work. A hairdryer is placed at the dressing table.
There is a kettle and coffee packs above the small refrigerator. Inside the refrigerator are 2 cans of beer and several soft drinks (I think these are free but better to check with the reception)
Although no luggage foldable bench in the room, I find it convenient to place my luggage bag on top of the drawers inside the wardrobe. There is no safe, no iron and no slippers.
There is no bathtub. I find it interesting that the 4 towels (2 big and 2 small) are folded in a nice pattern and placed on the bed.
Wi-fi is free and the internet speed was fast.

Hotel Restaurant: I didn’t take dinner nor lunch at the restaurant that’s adjacent to the reception. I did look at the menu – it’s just your typical local Thai dishes. But I did eat at the restaurant for breakfast. I find interesting that every table has a non-slip tablecloth (first time for me). Food fare include fruit juices, fried eggs, sandwiches, soups, porridge, sausages, ham, fruits, vegetable salads, sautéed vegetables, fried rice noodle, fried rice and normal rice and toasted bread. There’s a Nescafe vending machine that dispensed hot chocolate, latte, cappuccino, expresso, tea and coffee. So nothing great but enough to fill your stomach to start the day

Overall, this is one 3-star hotel that surprised me in a few ‘grand’ ways which added onto my experience of a pleasant stay.
