Coming upto the highlands of Arusha from a steaming hot coastal island.... getting a beatiful room with all facilities in place and nicely decorated, mingling down to the terace for some smooth drinks with the Chef, getting a loveful presentation of the menu of the night... later enjoying the excellent dinner itself accompaigned by some selected good wines... wieving the...

Great cottages, very clean, great sized beds. Staff always helpful, delicious food if a little European inspired. Well worth staying more than one night, just to relax by the pool and shake off the flight or the dust from the safari. Location delivers amazing sunsets. Local farm means domestic animal noises at night but hey that's Africa. Wouldn't hesitate to...

We spent our first two nights Machweo/Onsea House on our 3rd trip to Africa, and we couldn't have started a better place. Machweo turned out to be quite a charming B&B close to the center of Arusha. The staff was fantastic –friendly, hospitable and accommodating. Recognizing that we wanted to strengthen our Swahili to better communicate with the children at...

After flying into Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, we spent our first night at Onsea House which is a great way to begin a safari. The staff is excellent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with every amenity. Dinner and breakfast were great and we definitely recommend Onsea House!

We stayed three nights in the Onsea / Machweo and had an excellent time. The rooms are beautiful, large and have everything you need. There is a great view on Mt Meru. There are not that many rooms so it never really gets crowded. There is no street noise or other bothering sounds. Staff is very friendly and know how...

Perfect place to rest up after an international flight before going into the bush. Lovely rooms, excellent chef, views that wow! Only drawback was barking dogs during night! Axel, the Belgian chef, was creative and innovative. Arusha National Park was a great place for a hike with the park ranger.

In addition to the clean and spacious room, the beautifully landscaped grounds, and the gourmet dinner served in the open pavillion with a night view of the city, we were impressed with the heart and soul of Onsea House. Many of the staff are young adults from very challenging circumstances who are taught everything from personal care to customer service...

Beautiful location. Helpful staff. Rooms are a nice size and have a great bathroom - huge tub and awesome shower. Dinner was fantastic, but way too much food. Next time we come to TZ, we'll be sure to spend more than one night here.

We stayed in Onsea House for 3 nights earlier this year. We had some concerns about the way the owners treated the local Tanzanian staff. We did some digging with contacts in Arusha and have been told that Onsea have a reputation for not treating their staff respectfully or fairly. This feedback is unsubstantiated, but we wouldn't stay here again...

At Onsea House we value constructive criticism and input for improvement from our esteemed customers but when something is completely unsubstantiated (as mentioned in the review itself) we feel the right - and need - to give feedback. The review has really touched us. Onsea House is known in Arusha and abroad for its efforts to help the community through...

Visiting Onsea House and Machweo, the connecting boutique hotel, was a real dream to us. We visited Onsea House for 10 days and all 10 were unique. We had two beautiful connecting rooms, with a living room in between. On top of that we could swim in our private swimming pool in the beautiful garden. Ideal for a family with...

Onsea House Country Inn & Guest Cottage is voted the best luxury bed and breakfast in Arusha and recommended by several experts as only boutique hotel and hip hideaway in the Arusha/Kilimanjaro region.
