Cannot recommend this lodge highly enough, I stayed with my family in August as part of our 2 week safari holiday in Tanzania - we stayed in 6 hotels/lodges during this time, and we all agreed that this was the best! The owners are lovely, warm and knowledgeable and we felt like we were staying with friends. They have a... More

Back in Switzerland from Tanzania – We have experienced a wonderful trip! The start with Paul and Erika in the Twiga-Lodge was touching, very family and friendly. The lodge is small and fine, nice and quiet. As Defender-fans we started our selfdrive safari with e perfect equipped, to the last detail, Defender. A personal introduction in a class by Paul and... Twiga Lodge was the perfect start to our 15 day self-drive safari in Tanzania, and Shaw Safari owners, Paul and Erica, were friendly, gracious hosts, who made us feel very welcome. The lodge, located next to Arusha National Park, is comfortable, beautifully decorated and surrounded by lush, manicured gardens--a quiet, peaceful place and a great way to get over the... More

Twiga lodge was the first place we stayed on our dream safari holiday and I could have stayed all week. The welcome was fantastic our first time in Africa and we felt so well looked after and at ease the location perfect and the lodge itself was beautiful. I can't fault anything I would absolutely recommend twiga lodge. My daughter... More

We stayed at Twiga at the end of our travels last year and couldn't wait to return to such idyllic surroundings with delightful hosts. This is a lodge with the personal touch, where Paul and Erika want you to experience their love of Tanzania. The views of Meru are magnificent only to be surpassed by Ester's superlative cooking skills! I was so very happy to return again to Twiga Lodge on the 29th Aug. Paul and Erica have become great friends and to stay in their beautiful lodge and enjoy their company sitting on the veranda looking out over their gorgeous garden is a real treat. Erica cooked a fantastic evening dinner and breakfast with Erica's home made bread... More

We stayed there for our honeymoon and we could not have been happier, everything about our stay was absolutely perfect, from the lodge itself to our amazing hosts Paul & Erika! I had initially chosen the lodge as I wanted us to do a self-drive safari in the national parks, and Twiga Lodge is one of the few places that... More

Fantastic time at Twiga Lodge. Arrived very late (2.30am) to a great welcome from Paul & Erica (even at that time) - set the scene for rest our our stay. Next day was a great mix of late breakfast, frisbee & rounders (with Paul !) in the lovely gardens, and a walk thru villages and farms with Christopher, head gardener.... More

The Twiga Lodge was our landing point after the long 30+ hour journey to Tanzania. We arrived at the doorstep at the hideous hour of 3:00 a.m. and Paul and Erica were cheerily there to greet us. We stumbled up to our room and collapsed. We stayed for three nights and could not be happier with our selection. Twiga (giraffe)... More

We had a great safari thanks to the superb organisation of Erica and Paul at Shaws safaris . Before we even arrived Erica never failed to respond to any e mails immediately and answered all queries. Twiga Lodge itself is a beautiful property with a huge, lush garden bordering the Arusha National Park. An ideal place to start your safari... More
