Mid-May I spent two days at Twiga Lodge which was an excellent choice at the end of my safari to Ndutu and Salei. Erika and Paul are gracious hostes, and made me feel like home at their beautiful lodge. This is more a guest house than a hotel The gardens are lovingly tendered by Christopher. Paul made me discover Arusha...

Erika and Paul are excellent hosts. We have used Shaw´s Safaris to organize our land bookings in Northern Tanzania, from car hire to park / lodge bookings. We used Twiga Lodge as our start and end point, and that was a wise decision as we could wind up for a great 18 day self drive adventure through Northern Tanzania, and...

Twiga Lodge and the warm hospitality of Paul and Erika was a terrific start to our safari. We couldn't recommend a self drive safari more and they sent us off with vehicles loaded with absolutely everything we might need - including a most delicious home baked banana cake! Erika put together a thoughtful itinerary for our five days out and...

We arrived late one evening and were warmly welcomed by Paul and Erika. Within a matter of minutes were were comfortably seated with drinks in hand in front of a roaring fire that kept the chill night air at bay. Our room was comfortable, the bed was comfortable and warm, the rainfall shower had more than enough hot water and...

From the moment my daughter and I arrived, we were wrapped in the gracious hospitality of Paul and Erika. Our accommodations were superb - spacious and beautifully decorated with local arts and crafts. All the meals were delicious and beautifully presented, and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with Paul and Erika about Tanzania in general and local wildlife specifically. The...

Twiga Lodge is a mini paradise with Mount Meru rising in front (when you can see it!). When the gate opened, I could immediately feel the embrace of a special place. I stayed for two nights (after a work trip in another part of Tanzania) and took a day trip in Arusha National Park with Paul as my guide. He...

We needed a place to regroup after a hectic first week exploring Africa. Paul and Erica helped the kids to relax with their family friendly property, delicious food, safe garden with Trampoline and frisbee. Sharing the evening meal with these generous hosts meant we could quiz them about all things safari and Animal- the kids were entranced. We need to...

We have just returned from an 8-day self drive safari wit Shaw safaris. We rented one of their well kitted Land Rover Defenders which was in perfect shape and proved to be a very trusthworthy companion during our trip. Erika was very helpful during the planning phase of our trip and provided us with very useful information, helped us to...

Twiga Lodge and Shaw Safaris provided the base for our guided safari through Tarangire NP, The Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, Serengeti NP and Lake Manyara NP in June 2016. We couldn't fault Erika and Paul from Shaw Safaris. Thanks to their efforts, we had an incredible experience which exceeded our expectations in every way. We were a family group of...

This is an amazing property and Paul and Erika treat you like you are long lost family! I do not think I have stayed with friendly people in my lifetime!! The lodge is beautifully unique and Erika's cooking is out of this world. The property is huge and has a tower where you can look into the adjacent national park....
