I've been a Peace Corps volunteer for just under two years and I've stayed at a few hostels in Swaziland. Lidwalas is a nice, friendly and clean place to stay. It can get a bit noisy late at night but if you get a private room or tent you don't hear it!

We spent one night here and it felt like we where part of a family. We had a cookout with the manager and some Peace Corps volunteers. Everyone was friendly and helpful. the rooms we rented were very luxurious. The showers were clean and hot.We have stayed at a few hostels but this one might be the nicest I've ever...

Have stayed here many times dating from way back when it was only a backpacker lodge. In the past few years they have added a number of lovely private rooms with en-suite bathrooms situated in the Ezulweni Valley's lush and beautiful setting. There is a communal kitchen for those who want to prepare meals but there are a number of...

I booked a room by phone and when I got there the said that they had given the room to someone else, it was late and I had to scramble around trying and find another room, which was very difficult on a Friday night at 18:00. Not impressed.

I was part of a group traveling SA and stayed over at Lidwala backpackers. The dorm rooms were fully booked by foreigners doing volunteer work so we booked the permanent tent setup with four beds. This was a lovely choice because we had a bit more privacy and the tent is nestled between large trees and a stream running through...

Spent several days extra at this place as I felt so at home. A little mistake from one of the staff had me occupying a dorm bed that had already been booked, so I was given a cosy little en-suite single room for the same price for the next three days. No food available here apart from the help yourself...

Over long weekends this establishment can be packed to maximum capacity. Patrons can be noisy. Luckily the main building closes at 11pm. We were unfortunate that a very loud and aggressive american girl stayed in a tent opposite our bungalow. She would, for no reason, fight with her roommate at 2am in the morning. The fight would continue until sunrise....

hi Mario We close our reception at 10pm and try to quieten everything down at this time however when we are full it sometimes takes a little longer. Apologies for the domestic troubles that were so close to your room.

Great atmosphere and staff to make you feel at home. A tidy hostel with everything you need to enjoy your stay including very helpful staff to give all the tips you need to visit Mbabane. Do not forget to do the 3h hiking first in the morning, it is definitely worth it! (It starts and ends at the hostel)

I spend more than a week at this great place. It calls itself a backpacker but that is definitely understated - it feels like a farmhouse in Hlilwane National Park! The lovely staff ladies offer different food every night at the fire place. There is a pool with a big terasse, a garden - no, a park - with lots...

Had a very amazing time, during our 4 day stay, in the self camping area. Friendly staff, nearby shops, and lots of volunteers backpacking to provide interesting stories from around the world. The hike is world class, but definitely not for beginners! Will visit anytime!

“The tents are lovely and much more roomy, quiet and private than the rooms. Although the rooms have a private bath, the shared toilets & showers are right next to them so you hear people using them and they can see into your room once the lights are on (thin curtains).”
