This hotel is situated a little out if Galle up a steep hill. There is covered roof top restaurant and bar which gives great views over the area. The food was ok but nothing special. Service is not the best or quickest here and some of our party had to leave before their full breakfast order was brought to the...

Lovely hotel with fabulous view looking over Galle Fort especially from the top floor bar/restaurant. Nice reasonable sized room appearing to have been recently renovated. Lovely location with a nice outdoor pool and small aviary of non endemic species rescued from pet shops. Good free wifi throughout but no lift to get to the upper floors

Hotel with individual character, one of the few where all staff are both exceptionally helpful and efficient. Highest position in Galle means a short trip to town or the fort, but wonderful views, especially from the open roof-top restaurant, where we very much enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. A delightful swimming pool. Good room with effective air conditioning but no...

Quirky hotel located at the topmost point of Galle so transport is necessary to ascend/descend.Cheerful, amiable staff. Accommodation satisfactory. Subjectively, however, I found the bed to be hard. Ample choice at breakfast. The jeweller’s shop in the hotel (independently owned) has a lovely collection of gems and jewellery. Ayuverdic massage treatments are available of which I availed myself and felt...

Interesting hotel, well located. Modern rooms. The Sri Lankan standards high standard. very good food-Note restaurant is unusually located at the top of the building, not the bottom. You have to go several floors of stairs, for tired throughout the day, is not comfortable. .

This hotel is outside the fort, so you need to catch transport down. Positioned at the highest point in Galle, the rooftop café has excellent views over the harbour. Meals are served on the 4th floor There is no elevator available , so this Hotel would be difficult for those who find stairs hard to manage. Unfortunately they do not...

Visited this wonderful hotel towards the end of a tour of Sri Lanka. Only stayed one night have our tour signature meal in the rooftop restaurant that affords a superb view of surrounding Galle, as this is the highest point in the city, and lunch on the day of departure. Meals prepared by the chef were outstanding, and all staff...

Stayed one night at this old style made up to date hotel above Galle. Comfortable modern room with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Monkeys in the trees. Outstanding rooftop restaurant and infinity pool which was very welcomed after a hard day on the sightseeing face! Staff lovely.

This hotel was such a pleasant surprise, it's lovely, really quaint and within walking distance to galle old town. It's situated on a hill so may not be suitable for people with low mobility, but we loved the views. The rooms are clean and spacious and the staff are very friendly !

The sky bar st the top of the hotel gives you a wonderful panoramic view of Galle. Go there to watch the sunset and see the area lit up. The food is good and reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed our evening there.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled atop the highest point of the ancient port city of Galle sits the Lady Hill Hotel, where you will be overwhelmed by the breathtaking and panoramic “Bird’s Eye View” of the lush green countryside stretching from the tea covered slopes of the Southern foothills all the way down to merge with the brilliant blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Located in close proximity to the city’s pulsating heart and to some of the best beaches in the Island, yet secluded enough to offer a measure of tranquility and serenity, that the discerning traveler eagerly looks forward to after a weary bout of sightseeing and exploration. Thereby, adhering to the watchwords “Lose yourself in the Experience and not in the Crowd”.Entering the portals of the Lady Hill, one is treated to an architectural edifice, echoing the legacy of the ancient Colonial Dutch period, from the imposing entrance archway, down to the natural cobblestone floor. However, as you progress through the lobby, where you will be greeted with the traditional Sri Lankan welcome of “AYUBOWAN”, which translates as “May You Have Long Life”, you notice a subtle but appreciative change in the conceptual idea. You will be ushered to your room via a rustic granite stone stairway, flanked by a strip of fresh water fish ponds and upon entering your room, will be amazed to find that you have been transported from the past into the future within the space of a few short ticks of the clock. The rooms are furnished with ultra modern futuristic style décor and posses state of the art facilities and amenities which are all that you, as an honored guest, could possibly hope for. ... more   less
