One of the most amazing stays, Highly recommended! Location is superb, it's located in the heart of Galle fort, walking distance to so many restaurants, coffee shops, supermarket, shops and many touristics places. Amazing staff, they were extremely helpful to us. Thanks to Nazeer, Sanushka, Suneth and Sunimal. They gave us late checkout till 10 PM! Amazing breakfast. Thanks to chef Poorna, and restaurant waiter Sunimal. Best traditional srilankan massage which is a must to try. Right at the hotel entrance there are plenty of tuk tuk and taxis.
This hotel delivers what it says and you can count on it to provide a good night's sleep in a very clean room and a good breakfast. While the magnolia trees in the courtyard are lovely, the breezy deep verandahs with comfortable arm chairs are a bonus.
In the very centre of the old Dutch Fort, this great hotel offers good rooms and kind staff. Rooms are well equipped with large beds (two one person, matras bit hard, could use a topper), bathroom with shower. Balcony in front overlooking the yard. Looks very authentic but was told that only the restaurant/breakfast room is an original Factory, the hotel part is actually new, but very well in style with the surrounding. Pleasant staff, eager to help.
First of all, as others have said, this hotel has a great location in the fort, a lovely garden, and the buildings (although new) are elegant and look authentic. On arrival I was upgraded to a suite, which was appreciated as the standard rooms looked very small. There were many issues however which detracted from my stay and which prospective guests should be aware of: - I had forgotten that my booking was room only and at check-in was not informed of this or the fact that breakfast would be charged at around $20 per person. The breakfast was adequate but quite meagre. - Coffee offered at breakfast was instant coffee powder until I raised this with the manager, following which Sri Lankan coffee was available "on special request". - For most of my stay the Wifi inside my room was so slow as to be effectively un-usable. Despite raising the issue with reception, it took a whole day for this to be fixed. Turned out that the router just needed re-booting. -Whilst the furniture within the rooms is beautiful and gives the heritage feel, little touches made it feel cheap (plastic sheets on beds rather than quality mattress protectors, low quality tea bags and bathroom toiletries, etc) - Cheap bathroom fittings, a shower door that didn't open fully, taps making it very difficult to regulate shower temperature. The staff however were generally kind and helpful, except on departure, when the manager swore blind that he had informed me about the breakfast, when he had not. For the price of over $115 a night, I felt the hotel failed to deliver and has plenty of scope for small improvements to make it a high quality property.…
The hotel itself is a beautiful colonial style building with a courtyard and a lovely restaurant. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean, with AC and a ceiling fan to keep us cool (being from England that is important)! What really sets this hotel apart from all the others is the people. They went above and beyond to help, would always smile and say hello when we saw them, and took a genuine interest in us. Nothing was too much trouble. Thilini on reception, Shanushka (who we gave the nickname "the nice guy" before we knew his name), and Sidath the manager were absolutely amazing. Nahlinda, our TukTuk guy also deserves a shout out even though he isn't technically part of the restaurant staff. Location wise there are an absolute tonne of restaurants, cafes, shops, museums etc that you can walk to in 2 or 3 minutes. It is only a 10 minute journey to the beach by TukTuk, and there are temples, spice farms, and lots of wildlife to visit nearby! The Fort itself is also really interesting and great to walk around, grab a King Coconut, and watch the sunset. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Sri Lanka.…
The thing I appreciate most about the people at Heritage Hotel Galle is that they are nice, considerate, and trustworthy people. In the times we live in with all the uncertainties around, that's the most important factor while choosing a place to stay in a new country. Will be my first choice always in Galle! A special shout out to the manager Sidath!

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had booked the first floor rooms. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Location is perfect. All the cafes, fort , restaurants are around the corner. The staff are really Helpful and will always make sure to help their guests. They helped us arrange RT PCR test before your international departure. Breakfast is great. Food menu is limited and they don’t serve alcohol. We enjoyed our stay and we would recommend this place for its value for money quotient
My family and I had a fabulous holiday at this beautiful property. Our room was spacious, well appointed, clean and super comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. The ensuite was large and airy. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The Manager - Sidath was very accommodating. Thank you to the team for an amazing experience. Will definitely visit again soon.
