It's one of the Israel Youth Hostels but is one of the nicest. More like an affordable hotel. The food is like most of the hostels but probably better. It's above the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) but not on the seas; no beach. However it has great views and is next to a small forest with trails. It is quiet and more isolated than most of the hostels, but not far from Tiberius. I stayed there before the marathon, which meant leaving a good half hour to go along a dirt road into Tiberius before the race when the main roads are already closed.
Very good youth hostel in the hills behind Tiberias. The view on the sea of Galilée is breath taking. The nature around is also beautiful. The rooms are simple but big and quite comfortable with a balcony. Good breakfast. Wifi is OK.
The name youth Hostel may be misleading, as it is certainly more like a simple hotel. The rooms are nice and clean, full air-conditioning and a small fridge for your own use. The view is great, the entire Kineret (Galilee sea is visible) and there is a small telescope on the balcony to admire the view (Tiberias, Zefat and even Mt. Hermon). Place is preferable if you have your own car and is suitable for many nice tours in the area
Poriya Youth Hostel has nothing in common with the usual Youth Hostel and should be rather categorised in a 3 stars hotel. The hostel is located a few kilometres south of Tiberias, at the top of a hill (better you have a car to get there) that you reach it after a long long curvy (but beautiful) drive. The hostel is secured and surronded by a fence so that you always have to ring before they open the front gate. This is a huge an very modern building, through which it is sometimes complicated to find one´s way. We had to go outside on the terrace and take a speficic lift to our room (which was on floor -2). The view from the terace and some rooms on the Sea of Kinneret and Tiberias is absolutely marvellous. The rooms (and the hotel in general) are very clean and modernly equipped (with air conditioning, fridge...). The breakfast was also very good and with a lot of choice. Small critic however, on one day we had no Coffee and Juices at the Buffet (without any explication and it was already more than 07:00 am), was it because it was Shabbat? Prices are for the comfort and service offered absolutely ok (65-70 Euro for a double room). As I said more the standard of a 3 stars hotel than a simple Youth Hostel.…
