Had a nice View in from high mountain BUT - Hotel is The size of the room was reasonable and so was the location. The hospitality itself - horrible Stinginess about - 1. A normal bottle of wine promised in advance (two small bottles of sweet wine suitable for children) 2. Toilet paper (!) - three for two people for three days Serving breakfast at a different time on the first day from the pre-arranged time (you are knocked on the door you open and the meal is served to you) 4. Breakfast with small amounts (which is more suitable for tasting). I'm not the only one who complained about this and you are welcome to be impressed by the bad reviews and pictures here and on Google.
It is important to consider that Israel is in general an expensive country. Additionally, the tourist industry is not very competitive because customers will always visit the many attractive areas and historical places that it offers. In particular, the Shoresh Green Hill Family Suites provides probably one of the more convenient accommodations for an overnight stay after an evening arrival flight into Tel Aviv. However, you will have to drive 20 miles to reach the hotel, while in the US, Europe and many other countries there would be plenty of hotels in or close to the airport. Accommodations and amenities are countryside type covering all the required to have a nice rest and a good breakfast.
We rented a villa here for two weeks and never wanted to leave. The stunning views over the Judea hills with the magnificent gardens all night lit were so romantic. An ideal wedding venue and the daily breakfast basket delivered to our porch was a lovely touch. An amazing infinity pool I would highly recommend this venue for a romantic getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Public transportation was on schedule. We did not need to rent a car.
Hands down, the best thing about this place is the view. It's spectacular. Our room was at the end of the row, just on the edge of the hill - we loved it! There was a small yard on the front with a picnic table and a small grill. It must be perfect in summertime. The room itself was pretty basic. We requested an extra bed for our older son and a baby bed for the younger one and were granted both. We also asked for extra sheets and towels. The service was very friendly and quick. Breakfast is not fancy. You get some rolls, cheese, jam, butter, salad, olives, hard boiled eggs, some spread and orange juice. Since we were there with children we also got cornflakes and chocolate pudding. If you plan to use the rooms for more than sleeping or like to drink something other than orange juice, I suggest stopping at the supermarket or the local store (located about 7 minutes walk from the hotel) and get whatever you like and maybe some fresh milk for coffee. There are TV devices in both the living and bed room but the channel selection is limited. Not that we had too much time to watch TV, but it would have been nice to find some channel for the kids to watch in the mornings. We did, however, find a channel to watch the news in English. Generally, this is a decent hotel in absolutely the most perfect location. Oh, and there are so many cats! Our kids loved it, but if you don't, you should just be prepared.…
I joined my extended family for some time in the Jerusalem mountains and enjoyed it. The cabins are simple (even dated) but provide a bedroom, living room and tiny kitchenette. We were booked next to a camping table so could easily host family dinners. This was spoiled a couple of times because of a draft of sewage we could not pinpoint (but I would suspect the obvious, though mysterious huge iron pipe right beside us). The place is within reach of Jerusalem proper (another 10 minutes drive to reach the western reaches) and a 10 minutes ride from the Malcha Mall which is reasonably equipped with food, pharma and shops. As we're traveling with babies, we had a few unusual issues. The baby cribs (lool in hebrew) Shoresh provides are ancient, bent, dirty things. They willingly provided them but we sent them back and used our own camping crib instead. Mosquitoes were suddenly a huge deal as their bites were harsh on the kids. The local pool is fun but not exclusive to the cabins, so you get quite a crowd going on there. Get there early on the weekend and you should have a fairly empty pool to yourselves. The view is great, you get to rest in the fresh air and the place is quiet and peaceful, perfect for a family trip.…
A super first stop in Israel for our family of 12. We booked 4 bungalows and enjoyed a day relaxing together and playing in the pools. Breakfast hamper super fun but really a lot of food. They even thought about the kids and what they might like. We arrived late and night receptionist helped a lot with finding us takeaway pizza who would deliver. All staff were friendly and always helpful. It was a happy place and very beautiful setting. Liked it so much we would plan to go again.
We were here for 3 days. The place is nice but our toilet didnt work. We asked twice to fix it but this didnt help. We were disappointed by the service. When we got back home, we reported this to management, but had to make several phone calls until we were heard.
The beautiful surroundings contrasts drastically with the apalling level of service. The breakfast was basically old rolls in plastic bags preserved (not fresh) milk a few pieces of cornflakes and some cheese. We asked for a blanket for the baby which took almost an hour to arrive by which time she had fallen asleep and was woken up by the service people. The room had very few ammenities, no wi fi, the cheapest coffee (again with preserved milk). The pool was far away, and packed full of locals (the pool does not belong to the hotel). In short I would steer well away from this place.
We were a family of 12 and had 4 houses, we all had an amazing 2 days here. The houses are a bit old but comfortable the facilities are great and breakfast is brilliant. We had a meal in the restaurant and the food was excellent as were the staff. All round we would come back here to chill away from the crowds.
We stayed here for a wedding at the function hall on the moshav. On the plus side, the setting is beautiful with views over the Jerusalem hills. The swimming pool is large and has a great poolside bar though it get busy. Breakfast is served in a basket to your room each morning so you can eat while admiring the views. The room itself was large enough for our family of five. On the downside the room was clean but tired with old and quite basic furniture. Cleaning the room took two guys no more than five minutes in total. From early in the morning there was a lot of noise outside. And the Wi-Fi was bad with multiple routers covering the site but only the one at reception providing solid reception. Overall this is a fine, rustic hotel with nice breakfast and a good pool. But service overall is weak and the rooms could be so much nicer with new furniture and paint. …
