Arrived here for my birthday and was amazed to see how great this hidden gem is. Surrounded by beautiful old Acre this boutique hotel was renovated to give the guests the perfect experience, one that gives you the old city feeling with all the modern perks. Sunset view was amazing, everything is in a waking distance and the hotel is...

We stayed for the weekend in the suite. It was as perfect as it can be, if you like small boutique hotels. And we definitely do. Only 13 rooms and lots of public area. The sunset on the roof top is a must. Large balconies are available if the weather prevents the rooftop experience. With a nice glass of wine...

I have traveled quite a bit, and this has got to be one of the most memorable and luxurious places I have ever stayed. What's incredible about this place is not just that it's a wonderful hotel -- though it is, with charming service, gorgeous rooms, frescoed ceilings, and on and on -- but that at the same time, it...

The good: The hotel is gorgeous - 13 rooms on one level. Gorgeous common spaces and roof terrace. As good or better than the photos. One of few hotels located in the old city of Akko. The bad: Noisy. The hotel is located right next to a mosque and tower where they do the calls to prayer. The first call...

Dear Jacqueline, Thank you for your review. We are always looking to give all our guests the best experience possible, and these reviews help in doing so. I am personally looking into some of the issues your raised in this review, such as the absence of the bell boy. The Efendi Hotel, as mentioned in the website, is located in...

The Efendi is a beautifully restored building in the Old City. We were upgraded upon arrival - our room was spacious and the staff kindly attended to all details. Common rooms are magnificent with fantastic views. Dont miss the spectacular breakfast and Uri Buri restauarnt nearby!

This is a difficult review to write. There are a lot of contradictions here. The hotel is comprised of two historic buildings put together. There are nice, if not particularly inviting common areas, a wonderful and very ancient wine bar, and a very nice common table breakfast room. The hotel is in an "authentic" neighborhood, and you traverse some narrow...

This hotel is completely over rated for the price and the hype. While perhaps the best hotel in Acre, it probably is worth going out of your way to not stay the night if this is the best accommodation available. First, check in was met with a reasonably professional desk staff. If jeans and t shirts are what you are...

Dear Sir, Thank you for staying with us and for the comments. while some of the comments were taken into deep consideration, I felt I had to address others. Being a boutique hotel that takes pride in its home-like hospitality and cozy ambience, the staff does not have a standard uniform as expected, as we want the staff and guests...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the picturesque narrow lanes of Acre, the Efendi Hotel overlooks the historic city walls and the magnificent Mediterranean Sea beyond. The unique structure of this hotel combines two ancient houses that have hundreds of years of history stored within their walls. These houses were meticulously reconstructed and merged into one building before being converted into a boutique hotel.. Complex preservation and restoration work over a period of eight years gave birth to a gorgeous, breathtaking pearl that was truly a labor of love. Thought was invested in each and every detail of the preservation work, which was performed under the supervision of the Antiquities Authority. Artisans were specially flown in from Italy in order to undertake this delicate work, as well as the restoration of the beautiful ceilings. All rooms in the hotel are furnished and equipped to the highest standards, and each room has its own unique character and style. Some rooms' ceilings feature illustrations, while others are made from preserved wood. Most of the windows offer sea views, while others look out over the ancient city of Acre and the scenic mountains of the Western Galilee. ... more   less
