You wouldn't expect this hotel in the center (right in the middle of Monkey Forest road) of Ubud. The standard rooms we had, were more than we expect when it's called 'standard'. The two rooms were at the second floor of balinese 'cottages', with lovely porches overlooking the rice fields. Two nice swimming pools and one of them, a salt...

Cendana Resort and Spa provides the perfect blend of western convenience and eastern exotica. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast buffet offered reasonable choice and two very nice swimming pools. The spa was cheap for facials and massages. Rooms closest to reception are also closest a live music venue which provided its patrons with 80s hits with plenty of bass...

I stayed here for 3 nights with my 78yo mother and 22yo niece and we all loved it. It was in a great location on Monkey Forest Rd about halfway between the markets and the Monkey forest and just far enough off the street to be nice and quiet making the beautifully manicured gardens and pools overlooking the rice paddies...

Located down a quiet alley, Cendana is quiet and right next to a rice paddy. the pool area was lovely and tranquil. The buffet breakfast was to die for with a wide selection of choices. The standard room with aircon was sufficient with a stunning balcony with lovely views. The room and toilet were a bit dark. The hot water...

I stayed at the Cendana on a solo trip to Ubud about three years ago, and loved it, which is why I chose it again for my 2nd trip to Bali recently. While I still recommend this hotel, I do think that there are probably better mid-range hotels in Ubud. The room is fine, but this time around, I noticed...

I loved Cendana so much I booked the same bungalow when I came back to Ubud at the end of my trip. I booked the superior bungalow because it had a TV and I am a bit of a light sleeper so it comes in handly but all the bunglaows are nice. Lovely grounds, well kept. Many beautiful flowers everywhere....

This hotel is on the main road into Ubud from the south. The accommodation is well back from the road which, in any case, is relatively quiet at night so there are no issues there. The resort has two talking birds in cages near the reception whose constant chatter and sound effects kept us amused. Unlike parrots these black birds...

We stayed 2 nights in a Standard room, on the 1st floor facing the paddy field. The room is traditional balinese design with bamboo walls but looks a bit dated. It is also very basic. There is only a large bed, a desk with mirror and no fan, just air con. The bathroom is spacious, with a bath tub, but...

We stayed at the Cendana Resort for 4 nights in April. It is in a good location on Monkey Forest Road, but set back from the street overlooking rice fields, so it is quiet and peaceful. We stayed in a standard room, 312A, with traditional Balinese architecture and bamboo walls. There were wide gaps around the windows and doors, and...
