What a fabulous stay. Our room was amazing with the pool right out the front of it. Felt like our own private pool. Very comfy bed and the bathroom etc was neat and tidy. All staff were so friendly and keen to offer help with anything. Free afternoon tea was a bonus. Brekky was delicious. Location amazing. Only a 10 minute walk into town or complimentary bike ride in. Also a good amount of great Warungs in the area.Would definitely recommend

Excellent place to stay in a beautiful location amongst the rice paddies outside of Ubud. Staff are really friendly and helpful and the accommodation were comfortable and clean. Couldn’t have asked for anything better! They even drive us down to the main part of town on the back of their motorcycle whenever we needed to go.

We stayed here for 3 nights in October. WOW, what an amazing little find. Set amongst the rice fields. Surrounded by fields and a short walk down the hill if you choose to. The hotel provide scooter transport and pick up to the bottom if you wish. We used this option many times. It is a small hotel and so quiet (except night one when the Royals had a huge wedding party, not the hotels fault). Rusma was amazing, as were all the staff. She always went out of her way to help when needed. I stupidly left my diamond band sitting on top of the safe (insert eye roll), I called her on whatsapp and she got the staff to go in a close the wardrobe door and told them not to clean the room until we returned to retrieve the ring. Given the pandemic there were obviously some faults, like the bed wasnt great and the toilet seat was moving (we never bothered to complain) I think they have fared well. If we had not booked and paid to go to Kuta we would of stayed here instead!! We absolutely will stay here again. LOVE LOVE LOVED it.

Family of 4 returning for 1st time since covid(3 yrs). Dealt directly with Rusma for booking and communication was faultless. Cannot recommend this piece of paradise highly enough. Stayed in 2 bedroom pool villa which we found wonderful due to privacy, peacefulness and outlook to rice fields. The best part of Samara Villas is the staff. So helpful and nothing is a drama. My young girls loved the motorbike trips into and out of the main Ubud area. Please,if you want quietness in a beautiful surround but close to hustle and bustle......look into this accommadation.

I cannot say enough positive things about this family-operated gem of a hotel!. I stayed at The Samara for two weeks and was very impressed by all aspects of the hotel. -It's extremely well located, tucked into lush rice fields just north of the center of Ubud, close enough to get to town in a few minutes on a scooter but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to feel quiet and serene. The only noise at night was that of the frogs and crickets chirping softly in the background. - The hotel provides guests with a cell phone to be used to call for a scooter pick up in town or you can walk through a lovely street full of small shops and houses and then beautiful rice fields if you prefer. -The pool was beautiful and well maintained, as were the rooms. The outdoor shower attached to the bathroom was great and very private. And the landscaping and the overall layout of the hotel, rooms and lobby were clearly well thought out and beautifully designed. -The hotel is small, which made it easy to meet and chat with other guests. -As a female traveling alone, I felt very safe and well cared for. I felt the owners and staff genuinely cared about my well-being and were exceptionally kind and helpful. - Such gracious service! The staff could not have been friendlier or more professional. They patiently answered all our questions (easiest way to get around, arranging for taxi drivers, restaurant recommendations, etc.) and accommodated requests both small and large. I would highly recommend this lovely and charming hotel to anyone and hope to have the opportunity to stay there again in the future!

Everything was great. The peaceful location minutes away from Ubud market, walkable or a quick scooter ride away (provided by the villa.) There is nothing like the views and sounds of the rice paddy fields at sunrise and dusk. Pro tip: one of my favorite places to shop in Bali were the shops on the road leading up to the villas near Threads of Life (Ubud market was closed due to COVID-19 precautions.) At the villa there were many choices for breakfast, with plenty of fresh fruits and pastries. The restaurant on site prepares Italian and Indonesian food. In the evenings I got room service and the meals were tasty and fresh. Rooms and common area were stylish, clean, and well maintained. We felt like we were home there with the welcoming owners and staff. We liked it so much that we returned again after staying in Seminyak for two weeks. Grazie di tutto e ci torneremo in futuro!

We had a wonderful stay at The Samara! They picked us up from the airport which is nice as it is a 1 hour + ride (complimentary if you stay 3+ nights and book directly with them). The hotel is only accessible by foot or motor bike. The walk from the hotel to town is about 10-15 minutes. Overall the rooms were very nice, we liked the outdoor shower and the pool. The pool was wonderful, every time we used it we were the only guests at the pool! The staff are all very nice. We did the Mount Batur sunrise trek and arrived after breakfast, but they still let us have breakfast in the restaurant. They also made us a breakfast box the day we left. Overall it was nice to stay a few minutes out of Ubud and enjoy nature and the rice fields.

We loved our stay here. The staff our lovely and the hotel is very nice and secluded. Breakfast was included and was homely. Our room was made up basically every time we went out and came back which was highly appreciated. Location is slightly away but they have a free shuttle and they give you a nice little small phone so you can give them a call when you need a ride back. My only little gripe was that their deluxe rooms are on the ground floor which means that staff and other guests can look inside your room through the glass panel on the front door, but it wasn't a very big deal as its a small property.

Arriving at midnight and hopping on the back of a scooter for the short trip to Samara was a fun way to start our stay! With two older teenagers I booked the two bedroom villa, which was essentially a one bedroom villa on the ground floor and another one bedroom villa on top with a decent size pool overlooking the rice paddies. The villa lay-out exceeded our expectation allowing privacy for parents and teenagers! I loved that it was a small intimate resort, we only ever saw other guests at breakfast. Having stayed in other places around Ubud over the years, what is amazing about Samara is that you can walk to town in 15 or so minutes or be there on a scooter in 5 - no problems with "the traffic'! Having a phone to arrange pick-ups was so easy. Special mention to Menuh who was amazingly helpful from initial enquiry to when we left.

We checked in to our villa room with a private pool attached and it was so good. The children get to swim every morning and they are enjoying it. The resort provides motorbike services (24hours) to the main road and this is so cool for the children as this is the first time for them to ride motorcycles and they are loving it. Everyday we will wake up to this beautiful view and the food provided by the resort is super yummy. And also there’s a restaurant (Dolce Arancia) by the resort and they served really good food too. We had it at ubud central. There was once we have our clothes hang out and it was raining, the staff is really nice and helpful. They helped us keep our clothes indoor. Overall the stay is very good for us and our whole family really enjoy it. Thank you for the hospitality and the staff is very helpful and friendly.
