Not happy that I have to give 1 star to be able to post this.

We are seasoned travellers and not pretentious by any means, but the service, or lack thereof at this so called resort could not go without comment.

Firstly we arranged for an Airport pickup by the resort. Our driver didnt say a word the whole way to the resort. Fair enough.

He pulled up and got our bags out and left them in the driveway for us to carry up the stairs while he went and spoke to his 5 mates.

We signed into our room and we were taken to the far corner of the resort....round many twists and turns. We didnt get a site map or tour or any directions so we were flying blind.

We went straight for the pool bar, after asking directions as there is no signage except for tsunami directions. Cocktails were served in basic disposable plastic water cups...not very appetizing. We ordered satay sticks as bar snacks and they were served up on deck as you can't eat bar snacks at the pool bar....first time we had seen that.

Got back to our room and turned down our covers to find an earring in our bed. Guessing the sheets weren't changed between guests.

After wandering around for 10minutes looking for breakfast we finally found it and looked forward to a gourmet buffet. Only there was no bacon...a staple of buffet breakfasts....except there was. 3 days later we heard someone ask the egg station for bacon and out comes a small bowl of bacon that was hidden behind the counter. A teaspoon serving later and we finally got a small taste.

The remainder of the stay saw absolutely no poolside service and every time a sprinkle of rain came over we were shooed off our seats so the mattresses could be put under cover.

Not sure who the hospitality manager is but there was limited hospitality and we wont be back or recommending this place to any of our friends who frequent Bali often.

Very disappointed.
Thank Troy D

Booked this hotel because it looked so good on the website. First impression is it is a big lie. Hotel is really old and smells old. Corridor is dingy and dark and rooms are back in the 1970s. What a huge disappointment. The location is along one of the most crowded street in Bali. Many other things which were promised were not true. On the main website of a booking portal they promise free wifi (They still do) but here again it is a huge lie because somewhere hidden in small print it says that wifi maybe free on public area but the minute you enter your room it is chargeable. Nowadays there is no hotel including major hotels that charges for wifi. This hotel must be desperate for cash. This list goes on and on. Don’t be fool. There are hundreds of other much better hotel in Bali much newer and they will not be dishonest with the guest. When we pointed out this to the Bali Garden Beach Hotel the staff does not even bother to make an attempt to do service recovery. They just smile and you and say nothing. Guess they were very well train by the owners and management to ignore complaint or to do service recovery. Can’t blame them as they are just employees. Stay away from Bali Garden Beach’s Resort Hotel in Kuta along Jalan Kartika.

We loved our weeks stay at this hotel. First time staying at this hotel and chose it based on the pools with swim up bar and being on the beach and also being a Traditional Balinese Hotel The gardens in this hotel are absolutely amazing. We originally booked a superior room but ended up upgrading to a deluxe on the ground floor as was recommended by a friend and glad we did as was closer to the pools and breakfast etc. We organised for the hotel to pick us up from the airport as we arrived at 10pm for a small fee of A$8 and was there waiting for us and check in was quick and efficient. Breakfast is great not lavish but more than you need eggs anyway you like, pancakes, french toast, fresh fruit & yogurt, pastries, fresh juice coffee & tea enjoying beautiful views of the gardens and ponds. 3 pools one adults only with spa which is nice and tranquil, the main pool bar with swim up bar and kids pool with inflatables and noodles supplied too so was great to sit in the pool with a cocktail. The infinity pool overlooks the beach though not very many deck chairs there so didn't use that as much. There are deck chairs with umbrellas on the beach but we tried that and got harassed by the hawkers trying to sell us stuff!! The food and drinks at the hotel are very well priced and fantastic you don't really need to leave the hotel when you can sit and look over the beach. We sat and watched a wedding one day and that was amazing a wonderful venue for a wedding.. We also enjoyed the Tari Spa which was also very well priced that we had quite a few different treatments with the lovely ladies in their pampering us. All the staff at the hotel were amazing nothing was too much trouble. We were also invited to a cocktail party by the hotel where you get to meet other guests and staff which was great a really nice touch which we enjoyed.

The rooms are huge and while some people say dated we say it is Traditional Balinese room which we loved (if you want modern go stay at The Stones or Pullman for that) so much room to put your suitcases on,large wardrobe to hang and store your clothes, has a desk, safe, empty bar fridge, lots of mirrors, dark curtains. The only thing is the air conditioner is quite noisy we just didn't sleep with it on. Yes the bathroom is tired but very clean and did have a bath/shower setup but that didn't bother us. Clean towels every day. Apparently the hotel is in the process of upgrading all bathrooms in the rooms and having no more baths so that will be wonderful. But the rooms are very very clean with a little balcony you can sit outside and admire the gardens.
Thank you Bali Garden we will be back one day.

All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely stay here again. The only criticism we have and the only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is the WIFI. Whilst WIFI is available at the lobby and around the pool it is not available in the rooms and you only get 2 hours complimentary the whole stay and it drops out alot. You can pay like $5 a day but that is only to use at the hotel so we decided to go and buy a sim card and for A$17 had 7g for the week and could use everywhere problem solved. Would also recommend upgrading to a deluxe room to enjoy the view of the gardens.
