InterContinental Bali Resort, an IHG Hotel, is lauded for its impeccable cleanliness and warm service, though occasional service lapses are noted. Its prime beachfront location is a highlight for guests, as are the hotel's extensive amenities, including a luxurious club lounge and diverse pools. The spacious rooms offer comfort, yet some guests mention dampness and a need for updates. While the atmosphere is generally appreciated for its homelike ambiance and live music, the value proposition is diminished for some due to high costs and preferable off-site dining options.

Exceptional Stay at InterContinental Sanur Bali Resort and I’m not typically a resort type of traveler , but after spending several weeks in authentic humble accommodations around Bali, I decided to surprise some friends and splurge on the newly rebranded InterContinental Sanur Bali Resort. It was a highlight of our trip.

From the moment we arrived, the experience was elevated. Nathan at the concierge greeted us warmly, beginning with a traditional Balinese blessing: holy rice on our foreheads and fresh flowers for our ears. We were offered iced coconut water and a cool cloth to refresh us after our journey—small but thoughtful touches that set the tone for the rest of our stay.

The level of service was exceptional. Every interaction with the front office, housekeeping, and restaurant staff demonstrated a commitment to hospitality and professionalism. No detail was overlooked, and the team went out of their way to ensure we felt cared for throughout our visit.

During our stay, we did encounter a minor inconvenience—a neighboring guest was conducting loud business calls on their balcony, which disrupted our peaceful retreat. While this was no fault of the resort, the staff handled the situation gracefully, relocating us to a quieter suite. We found ourselves lulled by the rhythm of tropical thunderstorms and the crashing waves—a true sanctuary.

The resort itself is breathtaking. The grounds are impeccably maintained, offering a serene ambiance that reflects the natural beauty and spirit of Bali. Our suite was a haven of comfort and elegance, with thoughtful details in the decor and amenities that made us feel pampered.

Dining at the resort was another standout aspect of our stay. The restaurant staff delivered delightful culinary experiences, highlighting the rich flavors of Balinese cuisine. Each meal was a celebration of local ingredients and warm hospitality.

For those looking to explore, Nathan suggested Jalapeño, a hidden gem offering Tex-Mex cuisine, happy hour margaritas, and a festive Taco Tuesday. We stumbled upon it during our walk into town and ended up having a memorable dinner with friends, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of motorcycles, surfers, and families—rain or shine.

I wholeheartedly recommend the InterContinental Sanur Bali Resort for anyone seeking a luxurious, tranquil escape. Thank you, Nathan, and the entire team, for making this stay truly unforgettable. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Wow! I would recommend this resort to anyone. I stayed for 1 week with my husband and 4 year old boy and it was absolutely incredible. The resort is beautiful, the grounds, rooms, pools, beach, restaurants…. we did not want to leave, it was like being in heaven. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly and were brilliant with our little boy. We had some incredible meals at the resort, and also spent a few nights eating down on the beach at the fish restaurants. The breakfast in particular was amazing with every variety of options you could possibly think of. My little boy also LOVED the kids club and asked to go back every day! I was reluctant to leave him at first (he’s never been to one before) but once I saw how brilliant the facilities were and how kind the staff were with him, he ended up going for a couple of hours for 3 of the days and made kites, decorated biscuits and went fishing… it was the highlight of his trip!!!! We did a few trips from the resort, one to Uluwatu temple and another to Sundays beach club which I would highly recommend. The rest of the time we just enjoyed spending our days around the pool and exploring the grounds… it was pure bliss and we can’t wait to return. Thank you for the best start to our Bali/Australia adventure.

I can see why this place is popular with families with children as the games room and multiple pools appeared to be a big hit. Its in a more secluded area than the busy Seminyak so those who pick the hotel are unlikely to go walking outside the hotel.

The positives: Staff were very responsive, rooms were spacious and the breakfast had a lot of variety once you actually managed to get to it. There was a lot of thought put for the children's activities with additional activities put on during the rainy days which was great.

On the other hand: DO NOT use the airport transport service unless you want to pay almost 4 times the going rate. Be prepared for a VERY LONG wait for breakfast during peak period - you have a lot of people just milling around waiting to get allocated a table. I think the hotel could provide a heads up on peak breakfast times and how the whole breakfast booking systems works as you check in to manage guests expectations. Had I known I would be waiting over 30minutes to get a breakfast table allocated, I would have just gone to breakfast earlier. Also the beach area in front of the hotel could do with some cleaning up, I couldn't bring myself to even walk on the beach let alone play there like I saw some families doing.

Great location right on Jimbaran beach. The area is green and well-groomed, Balinese style. Nice rooms and excellent breakfast, very nice staff on site. This is not the first time we have stayed and we have always been pleased, but this time several unpleasant little things happened and I would like to stay in more detail. During check-in, they took our luggage and forgot to take it to our room. After waiting for 40 minutes in the room, I went down and picked up my luggage from the counter - I still didn’t see Bell Boy. Further, during check-in, they did not tell us about the conditions for using the Singaraja lounge and did not show the location (considering that it has changed in recent years). Later they found out for themselves. There were no slippers in the room; they were brought after an additional request. According to my information, the hotel was renovated during Covid, but it was completely unnoticeable. The carpets on the common stairs are dirty, the sinks in the rooms are coated with sealant on the outside, and the beach towels are worn out and frayed. This is NOT 5* level! Throughout our stay at the end of October, preparations were underway for a big Indian wedding at the hotel (a little later the number of guests was revealed - 1900). A huge hangar just to the side of the club part was decorated and filled with acoustic equipment (the sound is bad, but ok) for the concert. But on the last day of the holiday, a stage for a buffet table was built directly next to the main pool, in the morning all the sun loungers were removed and access to the pool was closed for guests. Seriously?! Yes, the day before the event, employees privately warned about this and offered to use the club pool, but obviously not everyone was warned. Ok, we left and spent time by the sea, but the management’s attitude towards the guests put an end to our vacation at the Intercontinental. I believe that a big Indian wedding brought so many bonuses to the management that you will survive the loss of one (or more than one) loyal client.
The saddest thing is the sea. Previously, Jimbaran had the best sea in Bali, because... The tides were almost imperceptible and the beach was gorgeous. Now the entrance to the sea is so polluted that it is impossible to walk a couple of meters without stepping on a bag, a piece of burlap or a piece of other garbage in the water. The “Keep Bali Clean” concept did not work, although you will no longer see plastic bags or gels in plastic bottles in stores. But in the evening, in the surf near the restaurants on Jimbaran, there is a choice of any plastic (and for some reason most of all plastic cups (very sad
The seafood restaurants on the beach are still great!

Just returned from a 3 week stay at the intercontinental Bali resort and have to say it was another amazing and relaxing stay. Booked in a club room and was looked after in the club by Monica and metri who both showed outstanding customer service and set an example for the younger less experienced staff. The staff in the club would do anything for you included Devi, Rama, Yunda, Wida and Mika who always had a smile and went above and beyond for their guests.. one of butlers who was always ready to help us was Laks and we had many a great conversation with him.

We stayed in a club duplex suite and most of the time our room was cleaned most days by Dewi who did an amazing job.

During our stay the club pool was closed for renovations and club guests had access to the pool in the Jivana villa which was great to use, before the club pool was closed I wasn’t sure how all the club guests would go in rhe Jivana pool but it was good every time we went to use it.

The only negative I can say which seemed to be more prevalent this trip was reserving of the lounges beside the pool. It seemed people are starting to go and put something on them and not come back for hours which is unfair to other guests. The staff by the pool should keep an eye on this and remove items that have been left there with not used in an hour or so.

Can’t wait to return to our Bali home again soon.

Traveled here as a starting point in Bali to get acclimatized after a couple of days in Singapore, just enjoy the beach and such for a few days before starting to explore the island more. We had also arranged an airport transfer via the hotel which went without any issue, very welcoming already at the airport and a trouble-free transfer to the resort. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, any special request we had was handled quickly.

The arrival at the resort itself was also warm and welcoming and the check-in was quick and smooth. Food options are limited in the evening but the resort had no issue with us ordering food via Gojek and even provided plates for us.

The room itself pretty much looks like in the pictures and the beds are comfortable. The only qualm with the room was that the air-conditioning was quite loud, clearly not the newest units so there's room for improvement there. However the ceiling fan also did the trick and was nice and quiet.

The resort is right on a quiet stretch of the beach and the water is quite calm compared to other areas in Bali. The sunset is amazing and there's plenty of fish restaurants nearby to enjoy.

There's stories about avoiding hotel ATM's in Bali but the one at the resort was perfectly fine and didn't charge an arm and a leg, the exchange rates and fees were very fair. The gym while smaller than I would expect for a resort of this size (the whole compound is huge) was fairly well equipped.

One tip, make sure to join IHG One Rewards as it gets you a discount on food and drink at the resort. The food itself is decent but nowhere near the best I had in Bali (and of course with the resort tax included despite the discount). Though the breakfast spread is impressive and amazing.

When we were there the resort was at 50% occupancy so can't judge what it would it be like when completely full.

The Intercontinental Hotel Jimbaran Bay, I can honestly say without one word of a doubt is the best hotel resort in Bali. This property is truly magnificent, from the moment you enter through the large entry gates you feel that you are entering an exclusive place, the entry resembles a mansion entrance in Beverley Hills.
The perfectly manicured gardens that align the sweeping driveway leads you to this tranquil place, where as you leave your vehicle you hear water running that immediately puts you at ease, the porters make no fuss at all as they take your luggage and you are gently led through the expansive entry area to the check in destination where you are greeted with a welcoming smile, a welcome drink and you are made to feel as a long lost friend that is welcoming you into their lavish and elegant home.
Once you have entered this property you will never want to leave. The outdoor areas are spectacular, the upkeep of the gardens, grass areas, water features and many pools are something you need to see to believe just how beautiful they all are and how the staff care and maintain this amazing tropical oasis.
It is not only the outdoor areas, but the interior is kept in immaculate condition, there is never any load noises except for the pianist playing a tune that accompanies you as you walk through the corridors or sit to have a drink or have something to eat.
I feel so privileged that I had the opportunity to stay here, and for the first time in my life I really felt like royalty, the staff here were exceptional, they could not do enough for me, they looked after me as though I was a valued family member. The smiles, the interaction and time the staff took to chat was never rushed and were heart felt moments.
The food is at another level, if you have the opportunity, spoil yourself and stay here at the Club level you will eat some of the finest food on offer and the bar staff will whip up imaginative cocktails that will complement the occasion you are celebrating.
The afternoon tea is not to be missed with an assortment of delicate creations that the chef delights you with each day and the endless selection of some of the finest teas in the world for you to sit back and enjoy.
Every single staff member at this hotel is truly exceptional, you will feel as though you are the only person staying here as their attention to detail to please you, look after you and care for you is something I have never felt anywhere as I have stayed in some of the finest hotels in the world having travelled to approx. 50 countries, the Intercontinental Jimbaran Bay is a cut above the rest.
Come, stay here, choose the lowest priced room or the highest priced room, it makes no difference because once you have entered into the arms of the beautiful people here, the lush and inviting environment and the beautiful karma that embraces this amazing and luxurious place, you will feel lost for words of how can something be as perfect as this and the moments you share either on your own or with your loved ones, you will truly take away with you when you leave and will forever dwell in your heart and mind.

Beautiful grounds, attentive service and delicious food. It was the perfect family holiday. Cannot wait to return. Traveled as a family with two toddlers. Attention to detail on family friendliness was a major plus - we requested a cot which was in our room on arrival and even though we had not requested, they had also left a special package of baby bathroom products for us - this was very thoughtful and incredibly appreciated as adult bathroom products are not always appropriate for children. The adult bathroom products - byredo were divine, and also a surprise to find such high end products on offer. Cleanliness throughout the resort was second to none, and this was maintained throughout our entire stay, including the daily cleaning of our hotel room. You could walk barefoot throughout the entire resort, which I did on occasion when waiting for my pedicure to dry (yes, the spa was also gorgeous) and not get dirt on your feet. The upkeep and maintenance of the resort was on point. Other things I really appreciated were the kids toys for the pool - a huge selection. And the numerous water features in Balinese style, which also provided the perfect level of white noise for squealing children so everyone can enjoy all spaces. It was a beautiful blend, with so many spaces to swim and never feel like you were missing out because you were in a kids vs adult pool. The resort is very inclusive and effortless. The kids club was beautiful and also incredibly clean. Daily breakfast at the main restaurant Tamin Gita was superb - as was the service. We sat outside most days as our children loved the gamelan and the staff were so helpful, one gentleman in particular, always asking if they could get the children something special, beautiful fresh mangoes, making sure all our needs were met, I really found that so helpful having young children and staff who were so attuned to what you needed in the moment. We dined at most restaurants and every meal we had was delicious and I have so much appreciation and respect for the Balinese hospitality and service. Every need accounted for. I loved the traditional Balinese architecture of the resort grounds, water features and sculptural motifs which brought surprise and delight at every turn. The scale of the grounds is truly impressive. It was also incredibly safe. As a young family it was the holiday you hoped and dreamed for. I hope others find this review helpful as previous reviews were helpful for us in deciding to stay here, and this hotel deserves to be praised.

The Intercontinental Hotel in Bali boasts a prime location, conveniently situated close to the beach and various shops. The hotel's ambiance is truly inviting and pleasant. I was particularly impressed by the meticulous attention to detail in their breakfast lounge, which offers an extensive variety of dishes ranging from sushi to traditional Indonesian specialties. Culinary enthusiasts will find much to appreciate here. The staff is highly professional and communicates effectively in English, adding to the overall positive experience. The rooms provide comfort, but a minor drawback is the softness of the pillows, which could be improved by including some firmer options for guests who prefer them.

If you don't mind being in a huge hotel, then this is a good place to stay.

We stayed here first, right after our late arrival in Bali. Due to its proximity to the airport (approx. 20-30 minutes by taxi, costs: approx. 300' - 350,000), it was an ideal starting point.

Our room was very well equipped and extremely clean. We were in the "Club", which meant that we were able to have breakfast in a separate area, which we really liked, as otherwise we would have had to queue for breakfast, which can be a bit annoying... there are also certain advantages in the outdoor area with drinks and part of the outdoor area can be used exclusively by the "Club".

It is a bit annoying that all the tourists have to "reserve sunbeds". On the one hand - once you get used to this "system" - you have a lounger all day, but on the other hand, reserving one is a bit stressful, especially since you constantly come across loungers that have towels on them but no hotel guests. And sometimes the towels are removed anyway... well, the "system" has room for improvement.

As for the food: it was always very good. The service was also very good and courteous. The outside area is beautifully designed and very clean. It's a bit of a shame that the beach, directly in front of the hotel, is not so clean. If I were hotel management, I would send one or two employees over for 30 minutes every morning to clean something up. It costs little to nothing and would have an incredibly positive effect on the overall appearance.
