This is a wonderful place to stay in when you go to Varanassi. During the hot days, you can feel the soft cool breeze inside the hotel because of its architecture. The manager "Sanjeev"is so welcoming and helpful. After a long flight to Varanassi he made us feel as if we are home! He indeed made our trip memorable. The...

I recently spent several colorful, albeit challenging days in Varanasi and stayed at the Shivakashi Guest House. The rooms were nice and the rooftop offered wonderful views of the old city at sunset as the call to prayer echoed and hundreds of kites took flight from every rooftop. The manager was a true gentleman who made sure I was well...

This is a wonderful place to stay. The location is perfect, so close to the central ghat. The manager is a real sweetheart. He made me feel like I had a new friend. I highly recommend staying here. Just one note that the bed was really hard and there is no heat in the rooms so extra blankets were necessary...

If you are really visiting Varanasi then most probably you are not looking for an exotic place to stay. So go with a minimalist and open mind. This place is very close to the Dashashwamedh ghat which is the main ghat. I actually used to walk from the southernmost Assi ghat to the far away Panchganga ghat from this place....

This is a clean and fairly comfortable, guest house in the heart of the old city, 100 meters from the Ghats. Good eats close by, a walk to everything. Has a rooftop eating area with a view of the river. It is also a great place to watch the monkeys as they go about their day!

The location is awesome, is very quiet, yet close to the main ghat. The gh is located in a quiet street hence not much noise even though soundproofing is almost non-existent (like everywhere in this area). Is a bit tricky to find but if you follow signs on the walls and ask around, you'll make it for sure. We stayed...

This is a lovely guest house with friendly staff (for the most part - we got ignored trying to order breakfast). The rooms are neat and tidy but be warned - the beds and pillows are seriously hard. The location is excellent - easy access to the river and many good restaurants, but expect prayer bells to go off at...
