It's a very simple hotel, not as clean as it could be but very much ok. The balconies have a small but interesting view of the Ganga. At the rooftop, where they run the restaurant, the view is great! In the morning and by the end of the day you can listen to the sounds of the chantings and prayers....

In the heart of Varanasi, impossible to find, right on the river of the Ganges. Ideal for staying in the city, always with a local guide . The hotel is in a good location, close to the crematoria, and enjoys a magnificent view over the river. Breakfast and dinner served well. Very helpful staff and free wi-fi

We stayed in that place for four nights and had the feeling we were overcharged for everything. Toiletpaper, the horrible food (which took an hour to be prepared!) and the third person in a double room without even having an extra bed! The toilet was leaking and the airconditioning barely working. The worst of all was the poor service -...

This hotel was shown to me by an indian guy...The room was quite big with TV and fan (no need of the air conditioned if you avoid the highest floors that are really hot). There was a small balcony as well, but often visited by monkey thus be careful to leave the windows opened! The room was basic but for...

The guest house is atmospheric and full of character, and is situated very near the ‘burning ghat’. There is a magnificent, sweeping view of the Ganges from the rooftop restaurant. Our host, Arun, was very welcoming and provided us straight away with a map and advice on things to do in Varanasi. The hotel provides rowing boat trips on the...

We stayed at the Mishra because one of our travelling party had stayed here before. We had 3 rooms between us and they let us choose which room by showing us several rooms. The rooms were basic but the balconies made up for this. The location was ok (we found it was easy to get lost in Varanasi but we...

We were stuck with Mishra after there was no availability at better places such as Alka and Ganpati. It seems my experience was worse than other reviews but it is justified; The room was a disaster, with mice running on the pillows and droppings on the bed. Felt ripped off at Rs500 a night. The bathroom was not clean and...

We thought this a great place to stay, besides any cons. We stayed in two rooms. The first had a balcony and TV. We paid Rs 500 for this, however it's almost not worth it, as you have a thin slice of a view of the Ganga and no privacy on the second floor as you go out on the...

We liked out stay here. The rooms were basic and good bathroom attached. We paid 300 for a double room and they paid for our ride from the bus station to the hotel. Our hot water didn't work at the time. Really the only complaint about the room. The staff was really friendly. They gave us a map of the...

The room I stayed in, 203, has a wonderful view of the Ganga, both through the windows and the balcony. Large room, incl TV and AC if you want to pay for it, and fine bathroom. The guest house is situated in some back allies near to the burning Ghat. As a solo female traveler, this was a big downside....

“203 was a nice BIG room, quoted at $800 INR, but if you are staying 4 + days, and no AC ask for your budget, and you are likely to get a better price, I got what I was after, which was a good discount, so made up for some of the negatives!”
