With seven other women an Pollyanna our yoga teacher, we spent three nights at this hotel and loved every minute. The hotel is old and beautiful and its situation well outside Uaidapur is ideal for any kind of tranquil rest and recuperation from urban clang and clamour. Comfy clean beds. Large bedrooms ensuite. The chef is some kind of genius...

I hired a driver to take me to the Ravla Khempur to/from Udaipur, and spent a gorgeous couple of hours there. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is one of my favourite films, so naturally I had to pay a visit. Around an hour and a half's drive from Udaipur, it is definitely worth the trip! The place is just as...

If you are a fan of heritage hotels, royal vibes, horses and generous hospitality I bet you don't want to miss this place if you are in udaipur. Its location makes it all the more exotic as it's away from the main city. It is also a preferable place for shooting movies as the majestic grandeur of the architecture attracts...

We stayed at this amazing location which have everything in its top notch . The serene ambience will make you love it. It's very beautiful and showcases rajput heritage with great valour and exceptional hospitality. This place is very famous due to a movie being made surrounding the hotel A great place to enjoy with friends, family.

We stayed in Ravla Khempur in 2013 - just after the first film had been filmed there. Then, our point was that the charm and attraction wasnt about its relation to the film - but the hotel in its own right and its proximity to a really lovely village - as well as the staff who are a large part...

We stayed at Ravla Khempur for two nights as part of our 11 day tour and it was one of the highlights of our trip. It is a fantastic old property and a wonderful experience, particularly for any fan of the Marigold Hotel movies. Staff were great and the food was good too! Thankyou to Nitin for showing us around...

Ravla Khempur was our 5th stop of our Rajasthan journey. It's located around an hour and half from Udaipur and in my opinion, the harder it is to get to a place, the better the off-the-beaten-path experience will be. And it was. We just stayed for one night for the obvious reason. First of all, you have to remember that...

I was here in the month on January, 2017 and visited Khempur as a part of my Rajasthan trip. The hotel is located in Khempur which is just a half an hour drive from Udaipur. It is an equestrian hotel. This heritage palace/hotel has just lived up to my expectation and I will keep going back. The whole place has...

Can you imagine having the privelege of staying in a 400 year old fort surrounded by a similar aged village , dwellings, wonderful families and animals all around yet at night there was a heightened silence. Maybe we didn't hear much because the walls were so thick !!! Well furnished rooms, full of character and very comfortable. It was like...

An amazing hotel, definitely shabby chic, but completely adorable. The staff made us feel so welcome, like old friends coming to visit - the food was excellent, plenty of gin (although a bit short on tonic...), hot water was fine and the opportunity to visit the local villagers and school was a real privilege. What they need is a woman's...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Now reopened with Resaalaa Restaurant. Ravla Khempur used as The BestExotic Marigold Hotel,a british movie. The title ‘Ravla’ in Rajasthan refers to the home of a village chieftain”. In earlier days, the Ravla was the focal point of the entire village. Functions such as village welfare, collection of taxes, administration of law and order, and the initiation of festivals took place in the Ravla. Ravla Khempur exudes historical ambience and is graced with breathtaking surroundings. The lofty terraces, open courtyards, sprawling gardens, domes, arches and canopied balconies transport one back in time. Khempur village developed over the centuries to one side of the Ravla. It comprises a small, random and attractive cluster of typical rural dwellings and shops, and shaded squares where the villagers discuss the affairs of the world or share the local gossip. For the visitor, this is a side of India that has its own fascination; the cheerful welcome and natural hospitality of the village folk who ask nothing more than to enjoy a chat over a cup of tea. ... more   less
