we stayed here for 3 nights, the room was very dusty, hair on the bed sheets and the room bellow was used as a meeting place for some of the locals. Looking at the other reviews this place has gone downhill since those visits.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Pros - nice, friendly host who was happy to help us book tours - large clean rooms - nice shared seating area outside at which breakfast is served - breakfast is included (coffee, toast, yummy jam, egg omelette, bottle of water) and it exceeded our expectations - location is perfect for periyar reserve - hot water available 24/7 - wifi great - host drove & dropped us off and collected us for tours in the reserve, took us to get cash when we needed it from the atm when it was far away and also helped us with language barriers when booking tours directly with the reserve staff - after a night camping in the jungle the host had our clothes washed and dried in a matter of hours for a great price - stored our bags while we were in the reserve overnight for free Cons - not really a negative but the jeep safari organised by the hotel was a flop in terms of safari - it's was a non-animal sightseeing tour. If you want to see animals only do it in the early morning to have a chance of seeing them. We got in the jeep at 2pm and the driver said you won't see any animals now - for £15 we felt we should of been given this information when deciding the time with the host. That said we enjoyed the jeep tour and the driver was good. Even took us to the bus stand when we left and wouldn't take any money from us. Overall we had a great time here.
