We spent two nights at Malabar House. The restaurant is in a beautiful setting around a pool. The head waiter, Arun Joy ( I hope I have his name is correct). was infinitely attentive and eager that you should enjoy the very fine cuisine. We had two enchanted evenings.

Cochin is a colorful old city on southwest coast of India, in Kerala state. Malabar House is a lovely small hotel in the old city, central to all interesting sites. It is charming and exceptionally well managed with a far above average restaurant, a small swimming pool, and staff that goes of its way to please. We had to change...

A small quiet hotel beautifully presented with some lovely antique Indian pieces creating a unique atmosphere. Our first introduction to India and what a great experience. The staff were lovely, particularly one of the receptions who had to daily reset our safe!!

Sadly we only spent one night at this hotel before moving on, but we would definitely return. The location was great within easy walking distance of shops and some of Fort Kochi's main attractions such as the Chinese fishing nets. The room was also very pleasant. The highlight however was the food both in the restaurant and the wine bar....

We really liked this hotel, with a few small niggles (see later). It is a wonderful conversion of a lovely old building in a great part of town. Opposite the parade ground, so a little away from the main drag (near the fishing nets), which makes this a quiet and peaceful location. But all the nice twee streets within 5...

Our stay was most enjoyable, with wonderful staff attending to our every need. The cuisine (it is a Relais & Chateaux awarded boutique hotel) was splendid. Our room was excellent and well appointed. We enjoyed the Wine Parlour tasting Indian wines which was a lovely new experience. We were particularly attracted to the Malabar experience because of the boutique experience.

Malabar House is everything people quite rightly say it is: a very efficient and luxurious boutique hotel. Our food was excellent, and the service could not have been better. I was fussy about which seafood I wanted for their famous fruits de mer (or, more precisely, what I absolutely didn't want), and they could not have been more obliging. We...

We arrived slightly apprehensively, as we had just left their sister hotel and knew it couldn't be beaten. However we were delighted that it had a similar vibe. Ok it's not quite as stylish but our room was stunning, room 10. With huge balcony Food is excellent, wine parlour is fun and has a great number of very good wines...

Malabar House was meant to be the best hotel in Kochin. The rooms are very nice, not super luxurious. My son slept on an extra bed and he complained that it was most comfortable. The lovely things about the hotel was its prime location in the Fort. The building and setting is charming and the rooms are fairly spacious. We...

Stayed here for 2 nights and wish we had booked another one or two. Beautiful rooms and pool and garden. Great location easy to walk around Fort Kochi. Food very nice, on second night and second breakfast service a bit too slow. I think that was due to one of the restaurant staff being off though. Had a couple of...
