Adam Woods House is clean and comfortable. The room had enough space and was quiet and peaceful. My room had a great fan in it as well as an air- conditioner that worked well. Adam was easy to communicate with and everything was clear. It is a small distance from the main attractions but the tuk tuk's a pretty affordable. Internet was a little slow but I was able to pick up a connection from my own phone. I only had a short stay where I needed some rest and recovery time and this room served for such a purpose.

I stayed at Adams Wood house for 6 nights and had a wonderfull stay. Everyday I got a treatment that was done by the sweetest lady. She does it with a lot of love and effort, for that you really feel being taken care of. She is very professional and I also liked it that I had a lot of different treatments during my stay. After the treatments my skin looked amazing and I could feel it doing good things for my whole body. The home was a really nice, Friendly and welcoming home. I felt like I was at home and could ask for anything I wanted to know. Adam is really friendly and helpfull, he arranged everything for me and also helped me planning my next move. His wife Varhana is a very good cook and I couldn’t wait to get breakfast ore lunch. Every day it was something else and delicious! At night time I had cooking classes from Zakira, an amazingly sweet and skilled cook. Every night we would make a few different dishes and she would show me how to make it. She is very experienced and knows alot about cooking. She would show me how to do it and then I could try it as well. Offcourse I am nowhere near as good as she is. But still I have a notebook full with recipes that I can try back home. In between the cooking we had fun and shared stories about our lives. I would definatly recommend staying here!

From my emails sent from home the owner was a really great help and promised to make it a great stay and all organised. His communication was great. Room was clean and modern & they provided bottled water. Disappointed there was no toilet paper provided & no hot water. When you get off a long flight a nice hot shower is needed but I couldn't get this here. On arrival I was greeted but no mention of any bookings, no wifi password, no help with bags up the staircase, the owner was out of town and the brother didn't even know what room Id booked. As the owner had to leave Kochi things became difficult to communicate and sort out what we already organised via email. A few examples below; An airport pickup was meant to be arranged but was never organised, so I had to use an airport taxi & they could not find the place. It doesn't have any signage suggesting a homestay or room rental so its uneasy rocking up in the middle of the night to someones house when you are unsure it is the right place. This carried on throughout the whole stay. As it is out of the main town area, noone could find it, even the taxi that was organised by the owner after a backwaters cruise could not find it! Every Time I got into a tuktuk I had to get them to call the owner to explain in the local language where to find it. It got frustrating. The owners brother was living underneath the homestay rooms and was around if I needed help except as I didnt have an Indian phone I could never contact him and he wouldn't open the door when I knocked. At one point I was locked out of my room (as there is a gate between the staircase & access the floor - good for security, bad when you cant get in) and I knocked and knocked, and called out hello and noone was around to help. I ended up walking through the back corridors of the house ect until I could see him through a window & he let me in. It shouldn't be this hard. All the things the owner organised was painful, such as a half-day trip to the backwaters. I had to argue to ensure this was not a full day and Id come back on time as everyone was telling me it was full day. They dont have a spa on site although they would have you believe. I booked in with the therapist, however the owners brother told me I didn't have a booking, so I made other arrangements - turns out I did have a booking, so I felt bad when she turned up. Car to the airport was also going to be arranged - turned out to be an uber which he couldn't order until the right time and then was late. All in all the room is so well priced & clean, it is great value. However everything else was so difficult it took the shine away. I would recommend the room at a great price but don't bother booking anything else through them. Perhaps it might be different if the owner was actually in Kochi and was around to help with the things he arranges.
